“My wife and I both ordered a 6 piece shrimp meal. Food was very tasty. My wife actually had 6 pieces of shrimp in her meal. My serving only had 5 shrimp. Evidently someone in the kitchen was unable to count to six. Upon refilling our ice tea, the sweetened ice tea was empty and the non-sweetened ice tea ran out before our cups were full. Definitely not the best Culver experience.“
“After checking the Yelp reviews for La Illusion & finally stopping in for some baked goods (not relying on friend's FB posts), I think the information here is a bit outdated; my experience was great & I'm happily munching on my bounty as I write this. I had been by the bakery a number of times but never really got the chance to stop in, it seems to be one of those hidden-in-plain-sight spots, so I was glad to finally have the opportunity & take full advantage. Walking in I was politely greeted by the cashier who directed me to take a tray & tongs (I'm new here) and asked if I needed help finding anything, but I made my own way around the store to get the lay of the land first. I wanted a concha. Scanning every case, I found them along the back wall & promptly tong-ed myself a vanilla, then grabbed a few other items that looked good. My wife is GF, so I picked out my own treats and limited the selection to what I knew I could eat sooner than later. The cashier rang me up & my 3 items added up to less than $3 so I gladly handed over the cash--in my old neighborhood you'd be lucky to find 3 baked goods for less than $5. Good deal right there. After impatiently making the car trip back home, I poured a cup of coffee, snapped a picture of my concha, and dove in. It was fluffy, a little crunchy on the outside, and perfectly sweet. I had to remind myself to take sips of the coffee. I also tried a few bites of the other pastries & they were equally as pleasing, I'm just unsure of what they were called.....they just looked good & I was in an adventurous mood. Suffice to say, I had no issues with the product or service, and would absolutely come back & recommend La Illusion to others. I reserved the last star in my rating because it was my first visit and some of the cases were open a bit when I got in (I helped close them which is no big deal). I'm certainly looking forward to bumping the rating up to 5 after I go back.“
“the customer service was really good! i walked in and knew right away that i was going to be eating the best ice cream i’ve ever had, and the atmosphere is like no other. overall i give it 5 stars especially because the kid with the glasses took my order and he was really nice and patient. also kind of cute.“
“Ordered a ice cream cake for my sons birthday and I was shocked how big it actually was. I never come to baskin Robbins but my son loves ice cream cakes so I ordered online which was a easy process and picked up in store. It was cookies and cream. Incredibly hard to cut but super cute.“
“I ordered from them yesterday via DoorDash. They actually changed their name to Las Mangonadas LLC (I haven't visited in person so I am not sure if the outdoor sign has changed). I ordered an elote en vaso, mangonada con Chamoy de fresa, and some paletas. Everything was delicious! Very good service, everything was packaged carefully to ensure that nothing spilled or melted. Would recommend!“

“An adorable storefront with friendly service. The cookies here are amazing... their weekly "standard" treats and their specials are delicious. The atypical offering of ice cream flavors will not disappoint either! I placed an order for custom cookies and communication along the way was outstanding. We were really happy with them. A MUST visit whether you're in the area or need to make a road trip!“
“My wife and I went to Garden on Main with my daughter and her finance for a late lunch. I was told by a neighbor to try them out. My daughter and I had the soup of the day. ( Can't remember the name but had egg and sausage ) The soup was recommended by our waitress and it was a great choice !! The food was GREAT and the service was just as good !! We joked with one of the waitress the food taste like someone mom made it. She stated that there are two mom's in the kitchen cooking right now. The food was very flavorful, fresh and a lot of it ! Two meals ,one salad ,two soup's ,two ice tea's, one coke and a beer under $100 :) To top it off, my wife went over to check out the different ice cream. Nice gesture, they gave her two free scoops. Smart :) Looking forward to stopping by in the morning for a nice cup of coffee in the future..“
“I grew up in Carpentersville and was home visiting from Omaha, NE last weekend and I just had to stop in and get my kids and myself something as I love ice cream shops like this. My go to is a mangonada but when the lovely employee asked me if I wanted anything else in it I was intrigued. I went with adding lime ice cream to it and whoa! I will always get it this way now. The employee was so very helpful and named every paleta they had that was water based. My son went with orange and he just loved it! My daughter had bubble gum ice cream and she loved it as well. I cannot wait to come back to Carpentersville as this place will be a must stop for me. I wish it was around when I was a kid!“
