“I went today based on a FB post. I arrived a little before 2 pm on a Saturday. I noticed a very small store front with a little yellow bistro table outside. I walked in and saw drinks straight ahead like coffee and tea. Then I turned a step to the left and saw the menu and the individual pies displayed along with some desserts and breakfast items. I asked them what the cutie pies were and the owner I am assuming said it was for kids but that adults liked some of them as well. I wanted to try one but they definitely seemed small and I was really hungry. So I asked what was better the chicken curry pot pie or the steak and potato one? The owner said the chicken curry but said the steak was just as good. Okay I decided to take that chicken curry pot pie to go. She asked if I was going to eat it now or warm it up at home. I said I wanted to eat it now so she warmed it up for me. I also got a chocolate croissant. So I drove and ate the chocolate croissant which was amazing and flaky! I wish I had bought two!!! Then I parked and had the Irish chicken curry pot pie. Omg was that the best pot pie I've ever had. The top was a crusty almost croissant like layer. The flavors were amazing and I am not a huge curry person. Definitely worth going back and trying more. Just a note, they only make so many pies a day, so I got the last Irish chicken curry pot pie. And also there is no crust on the sides and bottom. Which is okay with me. The top was really flaky. Some might feel the underside of the crust is a little mushy, but it didn't bother me. I will be coming back!!!“
“Pizza crust is freshly baked and you can absolutely tell this was made in a bakery. Best in the area. Also...crispiest chicken wings I’ve ever had and don’t even get me started on that tres leches cake...SO. DECADENT! Ordered here for my birthday and wasn’t disappointed!! Friendliest owners, too. “Ana was a pleasure to work with and so accommodating! My husband and I wanted a cake to find out the gender of our baby, so I called and asked if it was possible for her to make something for this past weekend. Not only did she make it work but the cake was absolutely delicious! It was also so pretty! We were so pleased with our experience and plan to order from her bakery again ASAP! The staff I spoke to and/or met in person were all extremely friendly and warm. Thank you again!“
“I started buying Crumbl cookies when the Crystal Lake store opened. The first time I went and got my yummy four pack the girl who presented my cookies said see you next week. I laughed at her but I have been back every week to buy cookies. They are so good!!“
“If you're looking for an American fare restaurant the Around the Clock Restaurant is a great choice. They have a fairly typical American style menu with a little bit of something for everyone, and the small bakery area has a good enough variety to soothe anyone's sweet tooth. My wife and I both had skillets and although my wife didn't necessarily like something about her steak (maybe the marinade?), we did generally enjoy our meals. I mean, they're skillets, so there isn't much to judge as most skillets are very similar and hard to mess up. The service was great, we were checked on quite a few times during our meal, with our waters being filled without having to ask. We would definitely eat here again if we're passing through Crystal Lake.“
