went out of my way to get an asada torta because the pictures looked good and it was SO worth it! first, the address was correct, which can be a hassle with food trucks. the torta & the horchata water (which comes in a large cup) came out to $14. pretty well priced considering its steak and the portions are super filling. will definitely return in the future
Located in the parking lot of Bargain Bins and Hunter's Haven.I've been to quite a few taco food trucks in Champaign-Urbana and Los Hidalguense has the best tacos out of them all. They consistently have the most flavorful and juiciest proteins. However, skip the chicken because it's super-dry like cardboard. The verde sauce is the best I have ever had anywhere. Get a cup per taco. Mexican style tacos are the go to here. We have tried everything on the menu. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t suggest. All depends on what you are feeling. My wife and I had this taco truck 5 nights in 1 week, they’re only open 6. We LOVE this taco truck. The best in CU, but we have a few great ones here. Fernando’s and Maize are great as well. But this for me is my go to spot.
