Bar Sotano definitely lived up to expectations. Food and drink were both great. Wed has happy hour all day, which was unexpected. The mezcal old fashioned was one of the best cocktails I’ve had all year, even compared to After (while controlling for very expensive ingredients). Highly recommend the Paella as well! My friends and I went here after work to get a quick bite to eat and a few drinks before heading home. The ambience when you first walk in is welcoming and very chill! We went on a Thursday so we were able to enjoy the atmosphere and decor before it got too busy. Everyone was attentive and friendly! Our waitress was Sophia and she went above and beyond. One of my favorite aspects of Bar Sótano is the service. Went in without doing much research and it went beyond my expectations. It is intimate, cozy, and even though it’s in a “basement” it did NOT feel claustrophobic.
