This little hole in the wall in Pilsen on 18th street is a great tamaleria. Went for the first time recently and when I entered only saw the counter and maybe 6 tables. Obviously this was mostly a takeout establishment. All they sell is tamales and non-alcoholic beverages. Easy to see because they have the glass cooler to make your beverage selection and big steaming pots on stove filled with a nice variety of fresh tamales. If your there for ambiance, forget it. First time coming here. I told the cashier that it was my first time and I ordered the red pork tamale to try. It was good! Tasted better with the red salsa the store has at hand. I then ordered more for the family at home. Definitely will be coming back when I am in town.

VERY flavorful and the prices are great! However the red tamales weren’t spicy at all, and there wasn’t enough meat in them (especially the pork tamales). Still good though! And the lady was nice and patient with me… I’ll come back ^_^
