My husband's family has found memories of this place. Today, on the way home, we stopped to give it a try. It lives up to their memories of the fried shrimp. It is breaded, not battered. The shrimp are tender and perfectly cooked. We also got 1/2 a pound of smoked whitefish. I'm looking forward to making a salad with it.
Love this place. Just the smell of the smoker upon approach is enough to brighten my mood. The smoked salmon and whitefish are beyond incredible. The fried smelt are also amazing, as is their fried codfish sandwich. I'm looking forward to trying all the other types of smoked fish available, the various salads, and everything else on their fried food menu. Again, I love this place.

My father introduced my family to Hagen’s 50 years ago. He would go fishing on Lake Michigan and bring his fish here to have it smoked. Hagen’s was a staple at our house during Lent. So nostalgic for my family and I. No one else compares to their fried shrimp and homemade cocktail sauce. Just stopped in today to get some. Was met with great service and given the same great quality of shrimp as always.
