I'll do this very fairly. Now if you go get pan dulces anywhere in Chicago, you will be paying for it as prices have gone up! BUT, here is the secret: in order to get really good bread, you need to step it up and come to the mom and pops of the area which of course are really scarce. Pineda's Bakery is perfection when it comes to freshness and taste, plus pricing helps! And this spot will definitely help you understand what I mean. This is excellent and fresh bread. Very delicious. And I know good pan dulce because my late parents started El Nopal Bakery in 1954. Our former manager recommended Pineda Bakery and I'm glad I visited. The prices are very reasonable too. It's worth a trip.

First time here, the pans that I picked were fresh and tasted good. It's a little bit pricier than I'm used to, but I usually buy my pans on the Southeast side. The service was okay, but no greeting or hello from the only lady working behind the counter. Also, I was the only customer there at the time.Good bread, though. ? ??
