I absolutely love this bar! While it's dimly lit with candles, big windows in the front that make it a perfect place for an afternoon cocktail. Great cocktail selection (I LOVE the celery gimlet) and plenty of room. I would give it five stars, but the regular bartender who is usually there is extremely rude which kills the vibe a bit.
Charleston, Charleston, Da da de da something something , Charleston. So, um, the Charleston is a kindly old weathered bar from the days of yore. We wandered over here for a libation and some camaraderie. Was the behappying hour. There were a nice group of hooligans of various ages. Generally , said hooligans , were pretty scrubbed. Went here twice during our week-long holiday in Chicago, both on a weeknight for a relaxed drink while listening to a DJ play some great chilled tunes, and on a Saturday night when it was busy but we found seats and had a fun time. Both were good experiences, with nice staff and good drinks. We really like neighbourhood bars so this was perfect, and in a lovely area too. It was the nicest bar we visited on our trip, and we will hopefully be back one day!
