“This was a cute and quaint little place. You could tell they absolutely have regulars that know the waitress' name (Suzy I think?). She was very nice and likely the only waitress that actually works there. She handled 5 tables at once with ease. This place is pretty small (5 tables in the room we were in and another 2-3 near the entrance/kitchen). They surprisingly had a lot of options on the menu and although it is a bbq place, my coworker and I did not try it as we had a long day ahead of us! They sell breakfast, bbq and lunch all day though so whenever the desire strikes, you can eat it here! We both ended up getting cheeseburgers and they were good! I realized we weren't asked how we wanted the meat cooked, but it came out well-done which is how I would have asked for it anyway. The meat was still tender and juicy. The fries were also just a little crispy, which I enjoyed and the coleslaw was sweet and delicious ( and I don't like many people's coleslaw)! It felt like a family atmosphere and it was a nice little place. I'd definitely come back to try the BBQ if I was ever back in this area.“

“Yen Ching's was always my favorite chinese restaurant. When I first had their cuisine they were located down by SouthPark and on Brady Street in Davenport. They had the best sizzling rice soup! We would always order Dinner for Two (Mongolian Beef & Garlic Chicken) However, I fell in love w/Yen Ching Beef, so we would have them substitute that dish in place of the Garlic Chicken! The crab ragoons were also way better than anywhere else. But you did have to order their own sweet & sour sauce for like a $2 fee (which was the bright red) as opposed to the sweet & sour they gave you in the packets (which was yellowish orange) and tasted awful. The service was always top notch. And they got to know us & what our usual order was. Special instructions and all! I drink a very specific vodka & order it a certain way. They would see me & already be preparing my drink w/out my having to order it. Which was nice if the person I'm having dinner with doesn't need to know I'm drinking. Just a very classy, and cool thing to do. Special instructions and all. It really made us feel like V.I.P's. Imagine how excited I was when we moved to the Milwaukee area. And as my fiancee's and I were carpooling together for our new jobs (Best Buy for him & Wisconsin Color Press for me) We were heading down Good Hope Road....and we see a Yen Ching chinese restaurant sign on the right hand side of the road. I scream...OMG...pull in here! I run in and speak w/the owner while checking their menu. I ask if they are affiliated with the Yen Ching restaurants in DeKalb, Moline, & Davenport? She replies..."Yes, Moline & Davenport are my older sister's restaurants. DeKalb is my younger sister's...it's a college campus popular hangout. I'm helping her get in to the swing of things while she finishes up the rest of her classes. And yes....the menu & family recipe's are all the same! I was ecstatic! Our weekly visits, to what we considered the best chinese food ever, could continue. We were only in Wisconsin a year, then back to Bettendorf for 2 years, then we moved to the Chicagoland suburbs & settled in Naperville. Very posh, very yuppy and very upscale. One day we're out shopping and driving around getting to know our new area. And to our surprise, about 25 minutes from our subdivision, we spot a Yen Ching's chinese restaurant! We decide to have a late lunch here regardless of whether or not it is "Our Yen Ching's". Of course, after being seated we begin to recognize the ambiance, the menu, even some of the people working there. Yen Ching's was never one of the chinese food places that delivered your order to your house approximately 7 minutes after you ordering it. So, it wasn't the quickest or the easiest to have....but it was so nice to have our comfort chinese food (something we know & love) in all the new places we moved. We had lost so many of our favorite places...Frank's Pizza, Ross' Magic Mountains, Adolph's Tacos, Rudy's Taco's, Happy Joe's BLT/Taco pizza, Brueger's Bagels....they would all be so missed. But hey, we did have our weekly Dinner for Two date nights at Yen Ching's!“

“Yayyyy their food is fantastic but so excited the buffet is back so you get to try a bit of everything! they were packed at lunch today but found us a seat upstairs. they did a great job keeping the buffet stocked with deliciousness despite the crowd. So good!“

“Ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes & they came with barely any icing & they were really undercooked! Usually they are the best things ever! Very disappointed. I got the Western Skillet & it was wonderful! Such a large portion, had to take home half, so didn't really miss the pancakes after all. “They have amazing food. I've been for breakfast and lunch. Everything I've tried I've loved, especially the multi-grain pancakes with fruit and sugar free syrup. I've invited friends and they loved as well. Staff is sweet and attentive. Returned after covid to find a beautifully remodeled restaurant, new owners, management or both, new delicious menu. Must try.Parking: They have great food, lots of parking, but they draw people in because of their reputation. Worth the wait.“

“Flew in for a few hours and this was recommended at the airport. We arrived a little before they opened and many people were already parked in the lot waiting, a good sign. I had the soup and salad and my coworker had the garlic pizza. Both meals were good. The cranberry walnut salad was the highlight. Despite many people arriving at once the service was quick and we did not wait long for our freshly made meals.Vegetarian options: If vegetarian just let your waiter know. They do put bacon on salads but I asked and they left it off for me.“

“Came in with a group on a weekend night. We expected a wait but it wasn't long at all before we could order. Everyone ordered their food and even though we all ordered one after the other our orders did not come out in order and others got their food before we did making it so we were waiting on some of of our group to receive their food while others had finished theirs.Now, the food. We ordered garlic knots and El Gringo calzone. I cannot wait to eat there again because this calzone was SO good. One was big enough for 2 adults to share. I forgot to order it with no tomato but even that didn't affect my usual taste preference. The marinara is a tad spicy but their homemade ranch is very tasty.Its very busy and can get loud inside but the atmosphere was very laid back and chill. 10/10 would eat again.“

“Very neat place but small. The service was adequate, there were only two people working and they were busy. However my meal was great! We started with a local brew and their pretzel and beer cheese dish. The pretzel was HUGE! Definitely a two person or more dish to share. But it was delish and I recommend trying one when you visit. Go for the set red dipping sauce, I forget what it was, but it was good.I had a very tasty signature salad. You've got to try it! From the fresh baby spinach, salty walnut, sweet cranberry, and the feta to the rich balsamic vinegarette dressing, oh my! The combination of flavors! It was truly delicious! “After moving here for college, I went and ate here with friends and loved it. I enjoy the atmosphere, especially when it is warm out, being able to choose to eat inside or out. The outdoor seating is great, with the ability to play games and take photos. The food is also delicious, and I love the ability to walk up and order right away, without waiting. “For a Greek Gyro restaurant, the Hamburgers are pretty dam good too. So, bought a kid's cheeseburger meal, which included fries and 12 oz drink for $7.95 and a Double Cheeseburger Combo for $11.20'ish, which also came with fries and a 16 oz, then finally a piece of Baklava for $4.50. The burgers were delicious. Make fresh to order and how you want them. The only downside of the restaurant was that they didn't serve bacon to add to your burger, other than that they were hot and perfect. The patties were firm, uniformed, and well seasoned. They have fresh cut fries of the approx quarter inch square size. The size difference between the kids size menu burgers and the regular menu burgers being little to no difference. The kids menu is a great value. But note it is stated for "10 under". If taking home you might want to have a separate bag for the fry's. As just driving a short distance caused the toppings to wilt, because everything was so hot. Perfect double edged sword. The service was friendly and fast for fresh cooked food. The the restaurant's dining room is open and has definite Greek and Olympic feel. With booth and table seating. The they do implement a 2 student at a time in the restaurant policy, to control students from North High School over crowding the restaurant. They are currently open 11am - 8pm every.“

“We arrived on a Sunday morning around 8 and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a great small diner feel with all of the comfort food you want. My burger was a double stack cooked perfectly( medium rare - without being asked)... The fish taco was just devine - it has cut mangos! Look I know there are good restaurants out there... Seriously, this is by far the BEST food I have EVER EATEN from a bar... Did I mentioned they have live music? This place is a gem! Love to come back.“

“We were seated very quickly and the waitress came out in about 5 minutes, took our drink order, brought it in about 10 but NEVER seen her again. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting we asked for a new server. They moved us to a new server and he was fantastic (wish I could remember his name). The sad part is the waitress didn’t have many tables and just kept disappearing. Anyways, she lost out on a $65 dollar tip. My husband had the meatloaf and said it was horrible!!! “The review says, "what can I recommend about Duck City"...The answer to that, is everything. There is not one thing on the menu not worth getting. The Chef greets you, checks in on you. The wait staff is so attentive. Drinks were refilled, bread and butter kept coming. My meal was as if God robed himself in flesh and plated my meal. I cannot understand how the food tastes the way it does, because I can assure you, nothing I make at home ever tastes like what I have had at Duck City. I was also surprised that the cheesecake was only $6! It was delicious. Usually we don't get dessert because we hate spending another $10-$15 but for $6, it truly was the cherry on top of an already perfect meal. “I went here in 2023 when I was in town for a tournament. They had a few vegan options and the food was great. I came back in January 2024 and they don't have the tofu anymore, but they have a rice and black bean bowl which was really good. The person working there said that they normally keep some tofu on hand, but it wasn't fresh when I came.“
