“I haven't been to Alexander's in years and my last experience wasn't a good one. The food wasn't great and the service was terrible. This time was a complete 180° experience! The place has been renovated and looks very nice and very clean (including the very nice restroom). The food and service were, both, wonderful with nice selections on the menu. We went on a weekend, so they had a piano player who was very good. Even the prices weren't the usual "painful" experience of most restaurants. We will, definitely, return. I went because I was told they had improved, considerably, from what I remembered. They have!“

“We were in need of a quick meal before heading back to the city, and as a Korean American I’m always craving Asian food instead of American food, especially when I’m in a pickle and need to pick something fast in an unfamiliar area.

This restaurant definitely hit the spot! I got the katsu don bowl and my husband got the spicy miso ramen. Both portion sizes were very reasonable and matched our ability to eat a lot. It is a bit on the expensive side (~$18 per bowl) but the portions helped it feel more worth it.

Service only gets 4/5 stars because the server seemed to be working by himself and was swamped with running around. Otherwise service was very friendly, tables and floors were clean, and the food was delicious!!

“We had rented the back room to films few scenes for our film and also had pizza for the cast and crew. Tanya who was our waitress and coordinator for the setup in the back room was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly and helpful with everything. You can tell she loves her job since she was always smiling. You have a great worker with Tanya. Also, the cast and crew loved the pizza and salads.“

“We just had a large 100 person event and used Geno Nottolini’s for the first time after seeing an advertisement for catering. I was worried because using a new company and me being responsible. I was so happy we did, the food was excellent, on time, plenty of food and our attendees had so much to say, all compliments. They were easy to work with as well, We will use them again and again!! “We recently had a luncheon at Moretti's in Elgin after the funeral of my mother, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the beginning, the professionalism of manager, Felicia, her kindness, and willingness to make this as easy as possible for us during such a difficult time is deeply appreciated. “Hands down my favorite low price Mexican food place. Can only speak for the tacos because that's all I get here since they are good over and over again. Pastor, Chorizo, Asada tacos are all fire. Their red sauce is awesome and not to spicy. I also like the green sauce on the pastor with its perfect amount of tang. Staff is friendly and attentive. I go here once a week and they always have business which says I am not the only one who appreciates them.“

“What you see in the first picture is the Mofongo with fried pork. It was very tasty, the pork was well seasoned and tender and the broth or caldo was veru flavorful. Only thing missing was some grilled onions. Second picture is the Alcapurria, missimg was the bacaloito because i ate it so fast..lol.Overall the food was great, fresh and hot. I reccomend this place“

“Los tacos deliciosos, las salsas y el servicio“

“My girlfriend and I decided to come out on Sunday to come support one of her former colleagues, Ian Leith and his band. We drove over an hour and a half to get there and even took the courtesy of emailing him ahead of time to let him know that we were coming to support him. Yes, Ian does technically owe us money over a business manner that is unrelated to his gig at this establishment, but our intention was not to show up and hound him for money. We were simply coming out to support him, and I made myself very clear of my intentions when I emailed him. Not only did he not let us know that he was not coming, but he even blew off the RESTAURANT completely by being a no-call/no show. Our best guess is that he assumed that we were going to make him pay us what he owes on the spot since he will be getting handed a check at the end, and figured that he would probably lose more money than he profits if he runs into us at his gig.

Despite what this band did to us, the management was more than kind and supportive, and even ended up comping our ENTIRE TAB--something they did not have to do, but did to apologize for the inconvenience, since we had driven all the way from Chicago to attend this show.

Ian is now going on social media and is announcing that he may end up blowing off his next gig at Rookie's other location in Huntley as well, while using "bad weather" as an excuse. I did not know that being a musician also qualified you as a meteorologist! Strange how he just assumes it is going to "rain" again next Sunday? And that out of all of the gigs he is playing at several other venues this month, that somehow this is the only one where it is "projected to rain" ?

I usually do not do this, but due to the awful experience myself and many others have had with this fellow, I honestly suggest that anyone reading this steer clear--his main loyalty is with Scratch Kitchen anyways--he is a full time performer and booker there where he has established a residency. I personally feel as if any restaurant owner/booker should perceive booking someone like him, who has established such a residency with a potential rival (another restaurant/venue), as a conflict of interest. There are plenty of agencies in Chicago such as ours, V's Integrations, United Talent, etc that will help serve as a liaison between the venue and the talent for this very reason. Hire an agency to handle your live music bookings always! Otherwise, unfortunately you will continue to run into this issue...“

We have found that these salad items are most fresh if we go late afternoon on Saturdays.Still offering at least three options on greens (romaine lettuce; spinach; spring mix). Fewer topping choices than before the pandemic (no beans? no beets?). But still standard things like carrots, broccoli, cucumber, sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, grated cheeses, etc.Hot vegetables reliably include baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli, steamed carrots, and sweet corn. As vegetarians, we can make a meal of this! But even when they're busy, the temperature of the food is unpredictable.“
