“I work close by and come here on a regular basis mainly for the wings but I'll order anything off the menu from here. There was only one time out of the 50 plus times I've been there and something wasn't to my liking but the staff and team surely help make it right.“
“I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I feel like I made a mistake by not going earlier, because I think some of the better flavors probably sell out quicker. The girl working the counter was super friendly, and made great suggestions. My favorite donut that I tried was probably the cherry flavored one. The last time I had something similar was from Thornton's gas station and I really liked it. I was happy to find it again. The caramel apple was also delicious, it reminded me of an apple pie filing inside. It was not overly sweet either. The honey dip was pretty good. It's very similar to a plain, old-fashioned, just slightly different. I have not tried the sprinkled one yet, but I'm sure it's also good. The donut shop is nice, I believe they are open 24 hours and they are very reasonable. Four donuts only cost me $6.15. Great prices!!“
“I am from out of town and thought I would stop in for lunch. Honestly I have to say the Korean short ribs were the best that I have ever had. I’ve had them many many places in different states and by far theirs is the best. Very nice very friendly and I will be back a few times before I head back to Ohio. I wish I could take them with me.“

“The best burger I've had in a long time. My husband got a steak sandwich which was also very good. Great beer selection. Good home made food. These burgers reminded me of my great Grandma's burgers so I was very happy to indulge. Very comforting atmosphere with great comfort food. Will be back for sure.“

“Ok, we went thru the drive-thru, so ambience can't be part of my review. That lets us focus straight on the food. Now, I remember Rax from decades ago. I've not had a Rax Roast Beef since 1989 or 1990. And a big pox on management for not showing any solid leadership - someone must have paid the C-suite to tank the brand, as they've shrunk mightily. One would think it's the food. Au contraire. We got a regular Rax, a King Rax, and Twisty Fries, along with a chocolate shake. WOW. I was blown away. It essentially tossed the Arby's roast beef into the garbage- the bun was warm, soft, buttery..... the meat? Spectacular. their BBQ sauce was less tasty than I'd remembered- the Twisty Fries were just spot on fantastic! Why this place isn't growing again is beyond me! The food is awesome, and we'll gladly make the drive from the NW Suburbs to Joliet to have this delectable roast beef sandwich again. Try it- it's REALLY good!“

“Adorable. Newly remodeled. Nostalgic. Across the street they have an old small Texaco Gas Station with old Texaco gas pumps. We stopped on the way for a business trip in Greenville, IL. The service was pleasant & the food was good for a fast lunch. Fairly busy and fast. Old flavored sodas from the past in glass bottles made with real sugar. They serve beer. Menu is great. They have BROASTED Chicken, looks good. I love broasted chicken. It's the best fried chicken. This comfort zone beats any franchise any day anytime. Cheers.“
“I LOVE the custom order salads. Fill out the slip, pick out your favorite ingredients and dressing. Then after a short wait, dive into a bountiful fresh salad full of all the things you want to eat. My last one was romaine lettuce with grilled chicken, mushroom, asparagus, tomato, red onion, hard boiled egg, with Caesar dressing. So good!! It will be years before I run out of combinations!! “I have been to Magpies 2 times and both good. On 1st visit I had the Rueben and chicken soup. Recommend both. The corned beef piled high on toasted marble rye. Delicious. It’s slow during the day, so no problem getting a table for a dozen people without notice or calling ahead. “Great local breakfast and lunch restaurant. The Matty's coffee cups can be seen at many of my neighbors homes . Portions are large and the you will need a to go box. My omelette came with hash browns and a side of French toast which they have many specialty versions of. My wife's Rueben was good with too many fries to eat...so I helped. My sister-in-law had Marty's Mountain which is like 5 breakfasts in one! Typical diner ambiance with an attentive wait staff and fast kitchen. Enjoy! We sure did!“

“I mostly come there in the mornings after working a 12hr night shift and Donna is usually there to take care of me and she's the best. I could hang out with her all day if it was possible. Although I don't really venture over there late on the weekends, I know it's not my type of crowd anyway. So I'm not really missing anything. “My first time here. Food was 10/10 perfect. Cooked just right, very fresh and tasty. The environment and atmosphere were superb, hospitality, warm, and welcoming. The fish tank was well maintained and I enjoyed watching all the fish swim around. The portions were huge and everything was very high quality, especially the toast I noticed. I will certainly be back again as rhetorical lunch and dinner menu (also breakfast) are vast. The pricing is higher, but it’s well worth it and fine since the overall experience is what I’ve delved for. Wish I did receive more salsa for my skillet though. So happy I came here!! I loved every bit of the experience! We were very pleasantly greeted too, everyone was happy and eager to make us feel like valued customers! :)“
