“Los Cántaros is just 20 mins away from the west side of joliet & 10 mins away from downtown Joliet. Big parking lot!!They don’t have their liquor license YET but don’t let that stop you from enjoying delicious authentic Mexican food with great sazón ? The owners are so nice! They just opened 5 months ago??We got the chorizo & cheese dip, flautas, burrito & torta de Lomo (pork loin)!The big taco is from the chorizo & cheese dip & of course I added the whole Chile toreado ?Horchata lovers… they have one of the best horchatas!! “Azul was recommended to us by a friend. We had the steak tacos and had to try their Cochinta Pibil tacos. Their steak tacos had great flavor, with a nice selection of salsas. Their Cochinta Pibil tacos are a must try! Their Cochinta recipe is over 100 yrs old and has been handed down to the owner. It definitely shows in its unique and distinctive flavor topped with a traditional pickled red onion with a touch of habanero. So good!!! They have a small menu, but it's about quality and not quantity. The drinks were great, and the service and hospitality from the owners was very good. You can tell they take pride in their dishes. We'll definitely be back again for their authentic Cochinta tacos, and look forward to trying their other menu items.“

“We are not from the area but stopped here for breakfast. The food here is delicious! My husband had the birria consomé with the quesadillas. I had the steak breakfast. Good portions, generous on the seasoning. They have so many options on food and drinks. Who would’ve thought horchata mixed with coffee! What a great combo!It was definitely a pleasant experience. Service was on point, friendly and very attentive. My husband grabbed the names of every staff that worked that day. I’m sure he will have his own review. Shout out to all the workers on 3/10. Definitely a place to stop for authentic Mexican food. 10/10 will recommend!“

“Friendly atmosphere and good food , fast service. we asked for gluten free food and they knew what it was! When I visit Joliet to meet with my good friend, we always stop at Vela's for lunch. Is it the good food? Yes! Is it the friendly, but professional service? Yes! Is it the kind of place where you can just relax,spend time and not feel rushed with friends or family in the warmth of an enjoyable restaurant? Absolutely! “I recently ordered 150 tacos for a party and they were just divine. The owner was so great to work with, very kind and helpful. Plus they deliver which made things 100 times easier! They had many protein options which was nice for a change compared to some other places that only offer chicken/beef. The tacos themselves were packed with meat- definitely was not skimpy and the tortillas held up and didn’t break apart. Everyone continuously asked where I ordered from. I will definitely be ordering again for our next event. Can’t wait to try the other meat options!“

“This past Saturday we had family over and so we decided to order a 10lb catering tray of carnitas. Price was good at about $78 bucks for the 10lbs. Carnitas were amazing! We got mostly meat and I'm glad we didn't get a bunch of cartilage and bones like other carnitas spots do. We are on day 4 of carnitas dinners now due to lots of leftovers it's tortas ahogadas for tonight! Highly recommend their carnitas!“

“El Primo is Minutes away from Harrah's Casino and at lot less expensive. The atmosphere is traditional Mexican setting. There is a bit of a language barrier if you don't speak Spanish, but its fun to trying and figure out what to order. They have a weekday special, such as Dollar Taco nights. Its near the railroad tracks, so if you a railroad fan, its the place to go. lol. It is kid friendly. But if you go later is mostly adults.“
“Absolutely love this place. It's one thing to go somewhere and you're order to always be correct but ordering take out always seems like a gamble. Never had a problem. Everything is always correct, hot, and delicious. Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone that wants good Mexican food. Service is always amazing and they are so friendly. You get such a comfortable at home feel while being there. It's hard to choose a favorite dish but the enchiladas and tamales are phenomenal.“
“Tortas for the win! I've been here a twice since traveling to this area for work and it's been great both times. All the staff is very friendly. I've never had a Torta before as the Mexican restaurants in Ohio don't have them! The Chorizo Torta is great and highly recommend trying it out. I'm sure all the great here, so definitely give it a shot. I'm going to try the Huevos con Chorizo so hopefully it's just as good!“

“We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our service was done by Kaylea. Although she was very busy, she was very pleasant and helpful specially when I had to return my steak because it was under cooked to my taste. She took the steak back to the kitchen no problem and came back with a little better cooked steak with a brand new potato and veggies! The shrimps cocktail was very nice. Overall good food and good service. Perhaps the prices are a little higher but eating out these days is more then it used to be. Perfect location, right in the downtown market where is the Rideau mall, shops and restaurants.“
“Just ordered a torta today and it was delicious , everything was fresh and I think they make there own bread cuz it tasted so good . And their horchata is better then los comales ! It actually has flavor and doesn't have a watery taste very milky with cinnamon very good . And my boyfriend had the Burrito and it was a hit .will be ordering here more often“
