Great food. Nice portions. Always ready on time. This is our Chinese go-.to. We drive 20 minutes for it even though other places are closer. We always get Szechuan chicken, chicken with broccoli, hot and sour soup and almond cookies. All are delicious.

I haven't had them in well over a year and it was pretty good. I thought I would try them out this for lunch I was extremely disappointed. The rice was under cooked, and flavorless. The broccoli had a strange fish taste which really confused me because I got chicken.

A very long overdue review, but Hunan Spring is my favorite place to go for Chinese food in Evanston. I'm lucky enough to live essentially right next door, and when I want something quick and delicious, there they are! I especially appreciate the lunch specials. About $10 will get you an entree, side of fried rice (which I sometimes sub for white rice), and your choice of eggroll or soup. I usually have enough left over for a second meal later. The owners are extremely nice, food is fresh and delicious, and service has always been very quick for me. Very highly recommend Hunan Spring!

I highly recommend their fried rice and anything from their wok. I always get their shrimp fried rice. They load it with decent sized shrimp that is perfectly cooked and fresh tasting. Rice is great; it's got that authentic subtle smokiness from the 'wok hei'. Not overpowering not too salty. Nice clean interiors. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Hunan recently became my local chinese restaurant. I used to go to Wok cuisine in albany park and they were hard to beat, but man this spot is 5/5! Been here about 5 times now and all times they have not disappointed in service, quality and portion! Will definitely keep coming

My first and last time ordering here- I ordered shrimp and lobster sauce- not even close to the recipe- they included green peas I. The sauce - totally unheard of - the sauce was white and very thin - but date absolutely nothing like any shrimp in lobster sauce -

I love the General Tsos tofu from here. Often times open earlier than posted hours which helps me out a lot since I work nights and am walking past there at 10am. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
