“Food was amazing! Server gave us recommendations and they were stellar. I had a mocktail, my husband had one of the whiskey cocktails and both were awesome. We shared the hot chicken baos (amazing), I had a salmon salad, my husband had the maize and mash burger with Mac n cheese, and we had broccolini on the side. Everything was delicious. Hidden gem!“

Great recommendations, never a wait to request something and very sweet.Another girl with cute shorter red brown hair ran us our food, checked in with us and was super friendly. “Great little place! We went there late, around 8:00 and the place was still busy. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful being it was our first time there. We ordered the old fashioned which was very good! I’m a little biased because it was made with 4 Roses Small Batch which is my favorite burbon.We also had the beet salad and the Soppressata Pizza was very good!We will definitely be back when we have more time to enjoy the atmosphere. “Dinner was great. We've never had a bad meal. We usually try the specials, and they never disappoint. Service is great. Very friendly. Everyone was so nice, service was prompt, all of the food was well cooked and tasty, and prices are super reasonable. “This is a hidden gem in downtown Glen Ellyn. Nothing fancy, but a really friendly and cozy restaurant. They have what is probably the best thin crust pizza around. We recently had a party of 13 for a graduation party and the service was truly outstanding. They even have a play room where young kids can play so the adults can have more time for a relaxing meal.“

“The food was pretty good! We started with the shumai which came with a delicious spicy sauce. Our rolls were all pretty good, with our favorite being the turtle roll. The spider roll was probably my second favorite after that. The only thing we didn't love was our rolls came out in waves instead of all together which was kind of annoying, but maybe they were busy or something. Our waitress was also very kind. Overall solid dinner and we both agreed we would come back if we were in the area again.“

“Gotta' go with the home team for this venue as a patron for 30 yrs. Their thin crust pizza is the model of my 60 yr preference for pizza: generous ingredients and fully baked. An employer of many students, family and workers from the area do make them truly hometown. You can see skilled bakers through an opening behind the counter. My grown kids always request Papa when they visit us. If you did not like what you got, remember, you did not pay a fortune!!“

I can't believe it took me this long to try Sarpino's, especially as a vegetarian! -- I ordered delivery one night (directly through their website) and was excited to have another vegetarian friend over so we could try some new stuff! We ordered the create your own (CYO) and I added the plant based pepperoni and sausage and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I literally want to eat this at least once a week going forward. So dang good! I saw they also have a lot of vegan options too, so you can definitely venture outside of just pizza - but the pizza was bomb, so why fix something that's not break? 12/10 recommend. (Also didn't get any pics cuz we inhaled the pizza too fast, sadly!)“

“I stopped by the Glen Ellyn Metra train station for some coffee, and got a surprise. It was a real pleasure talking to Mary, who is not only selling great coffee and scones (more tasty and affordable than the chain stores), but working with other stakeholders in the space to keep the building clean while also maintaining a vegetable garden on the grounds surrounding the station. After talking with her, it's obvious to me that she is pursuing a labor of love, and she is a true inspiration. I can't think of a more pleasant way to board the train in the morning, or just hang out for a game of chess when things are quiet during the day. More towns should get creative like this and make these kinds of spaces more inspiring, rather than just a drab place to gather while in a rush to get somewhere else.“

“A group of 3 of us ventured to A Toda Madre for Friday Social Hour! This is the third Bien Trucha location I have been to and by far my favorite interior. Is has a fun coastal vibe and is a medium size compared to St Charles and Naperville. I recommend making a reservation for a weekend evening as the restaurant fills up quickly. We started with the trio of dips (traditional guac, sweet corn, and seasonal guac). It had a bit more jalapeños than what I'm used to but delicious. I got the traditional margarita and a full order of the Aguacate tacos (fried avocado, pico, pineapple, chipotle aioli). The margarita is one of my favorites in the burbs and the Aguacate taco is the underdog of veggie tacos; the perfect balance of bright, spice, and fresh.“
