“The taquitos are quite good. And the home made salsas are fab. You need to try both! But the tomatillo avocado was my favorite. The drinks were nice and they have a nice local craft beer selection. The piña poblano was spicy and the draft margarita was delicious.“

“This was our first time in as we just moved to the neighborhood and we loved it! We had come from dinner but decided we wanted some snacks. We had the fried pickles, pretzels, & ice cream with churros-- I was surprised but oh so happy they had some kind of dessert. The bartender was a super nice guy-- very friendly. He checked on us often and never left us waiting for anything. The interior was really cute and about what you expect for a corner/ neighborhood bar. We will for sure be back-- so glad we gave it a try!“

“This was THE BEST Latin American food fusion I have ever experienced! Everything we ordered was not only delicious, but just as attractive in presentation. Also, the staff was so attentive and engaging. We had the honor of being introduced to the chef and shared how pleased we were with his culinary selections. Don’t pass on the drinks, especially the Pina Colada shots, for they were the perfect compliment to each dish. I highly recommend this restaurant for its authentic ambience, friendly staff and mesmerizing menu.“

“Hidden gem in Budlong Woods/Arcadia terrace. Maria’s cooking is amazing and Anri makes an incredible cocktail. The crowd is usually 30 and 40 somethings. Music also perfect for an elder Millenial like me. Every friend and neighbor I introduce to Rosewood falls in love for good reason. 5 stars all around.“

“Best Burgers! Took my husband there once and now I can't get him to go anywhere else. His words "Why chance somewhere else when Kuma's is always on point!" The Burgers are huge with a new Burger of the Month that keeps the menu fresh.Every Burger is delicious and totally different making it impossible to pick one. Also you can substitute the beef with Chicken! ? Atmosphere is great with cult classic movies playing behind the heavy metal music. Oh and let's not forget the beer/liquor selection!“

“They have great outdoor seating and a large menu for both food and drink. The service was a little slow as it seemed they only had one waitress who was waiting on the entire outdoor section, but that isn’t enough to make me not come back to this neighborhood spot.“

“The Black Sheep Bar is an absolute hidden gem that exceeded all expectations. The 9-foot diamond pool table was a highlight of our visit, providing a unique and enjoyable gaming experience. Amy, the bartender, was not only incredibly sweet but also showcased an impressive knowledge of the extensive drink menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, making our evening all the more enjoyable. Meeting the owner, Silva, was a pleasant surprise, adding a personal touch to our experience. Nice atmosphere, good company, lots of tvs if you want to watch the game, great music playing in the background. The food is always very good and freshly made. Some of our favorites are the chicken kabobs, the Jerry's Special, and the burgers, which are excellent! Half price martinis on Wednesdays with a long list of options to choose from. We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday there and they were very accommodating and everyone had a great time!“

“Please bring back the Ferris pop up! My husband and I were there on August 20th after the Cubs game. I returned with my sister on September 9 only to be disappointed that it was gone. Ferris was filmed at our high school and John Hughes the producer graduated with my sister. Thank goodness I took many photos when I went the first time. Bring it back!!“

“Pleasantly surprised by this place located on Bryn Mawr between Kedzie and Kimball. The initial impression was that the prices on the menu seemed a bit high given its location. And some dishes like hummus plate, which consisted of cut up carrots and cucumber with pita bread and a large spoonful of hummus, was not worthwhile at $14. Same goes for a bowl of Irish cabbage soup for $10. Having said, other items like chicken wings and burgers were quite delicious and were worth paying little more for them. Given their great beer selection and wonderful cocktails, it is worth a visit.“

“Awesome neighborhood bar in Roscoe! My wife and daughter wanted to visit a bookstore, so my son and I visited here just two doors down. It was pretty busy for 3 pm, but we got a hi top table and placed our orders right away. We had a couple of Old Styles, and I tried the Krombacher pilsner. It was the beer of the month and very good. My wife and daughter joined us about an hour later and had a couple of drinks. This seemed to be a less expensive bar than most we visited in Chicago. That's always a good thing! Service was outstanding! I can't get over these beautiful Chicago bars. Long and narrow. Awesome architecture. Perfect setup here at Village Tap! Will definitely try and make it back here on our next visit to Chicago.“

“My first visit there. Saw promo on TV. However, I was not aware that there was a cover charge. I assume coverage for the live entertainment. I enjoyed both the Irish band music and the Trinity Children Dancers. The food was right on point! Authentic Irish corn beef/cabbage. It was a bit crowded and noisy, but that was to be expected--it was St. Patrick's Day!“

“Do yourself a favor and grab some friends for karaoke and Korean food at AGIT. A group of us went on a Saturday night and we had a karaoke room for 2hrs. Depending on the size of your group they may add a few chairs in so everyone can fit. Once you're in your room you can start with the karaoke session and in the corner of the TV tells you how much time you have left of your session. They also have instructions on the wall for how to use the remote to choose songs and how to use the control. You can press a button and a staff member will come and wait on you. We ordered a handful of stuff to share family style. We had the bulgogi, fried chicken, seafood pancake, tteokbokk. There was plenty of food to go around and everything I ate was enjoyable. It was so much fun being in a private room and eating delicious food. I wish they would have had plates instead of the paper boats because you can't fit much in the boat and maybe some serving untensils for the dishes. But minor things I could look past. They are located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking avaliable.“

“So my partner and I just walked in because we read it was a 40's decorated bar, and it was on our way to a show at the Riviera. “I lived in Chicago for 20 years, starting in December of 2000. My friend lived nearby, on Clark and Byron which was two blocks away. This was the first bar I went to when I arrived. Neighborhood joint, but also good enough for people to make it a destination spot to visit. The Southport corridor has changed so much over the past two decades...bars and restaurants coming and going, upscale retail buildings replacing old one story strip malls. But Toons has endured and also thrived. I never lived in a big city before, and it was a crazy experience. I first lived near Lake Michigan on Sheridan- but still came up to Lakeview to play pool and for the first time I saw an indoor shuffle puck game in a bar. The freezer where they keep the popular liquors cold for shots is the same. Reminds me of my childhood and now is covered in stickers and decorations where you cannot find one open millimeter. It felt like nothing has changed since that night just under 23 years ago. My friend Sean now has worked here for almost 3 years now, and I disclose that while stating that he didn't when I first visited so that this is a genuine review of this place. Ally was also friendly, professional and easy to chat with. The entire team looked out for me, Tyler asking if I needed any utensils, extra items, refills- I never needed to ask for anything whatsoever. Laney was also super friendly, turns out we have a couple mutual friends. I'm in town visiting as many friends as I can, while helping my good buddy promote his new tequila line by making introductions- and decided to come by here and get something to eat before going back to my hotel for the night. It's 8 PM and the bar is busy but I was told "it's a slow night" I miss Chicago. Tonight on special was Annie's famous Wisconsin beer cheese soup. Sold! Got a bowl and it came piping hot, hearty with veggies and potatoes and a hot roll that I broke up like mini croutons and devoured it. By the time I remembered to take a photo it was almost gone so I am sorry for that photo heh heh. The food coming out of the kitchen is flying out at an incredible pace. I could watch this all evening. I ordered the popcorn shrimp and asked to sub out the fries with tater tots. Look at the photo below! These are not your ordinary popcorn shrimp. These are essentially actual shrimp (tail free!) and comes with Buffalo sauce and homemade Blue cheese dressing and some truly tasty pickle chips for a relief from all the fried items. I'm really happy to take a trip down memory lane and had an amazing meal while catching up with a friend I haven't seen in a while. Also bumped into some folks I knew from when I lived here- just another part of the amazing place and experience that is Toons. Support small owned businesses! Come on by, eat some great food, and have a few drinks and make some lifelong friends. Thanks to the team here at Toons for making a guy who came alone to eat feel like a part of the family/team dynamic. I gotta give my bud Sean a shout out for introducing me to everyone. Now I'm feeling the food coma coming on so I'm off to my hotel for some much needed sleep!“

“Basic sports bar. It's located in Norridge not close to anything interesting. Newbe's actually is pretty good to be honest, much better than expected for sure. Has the basic drinks and food. There's also gaming. A few way to keep entertained. It has video poker and slots. There was one woman who never moved from the one slot machine the entire time. As for the rest of the stuff, it has pretty average drinks and food. It's about $6 for wells. Basic liquor selection. The food is mostly fried and greasy things. About $3 for fried appetizers. The rest of the menu is meaty stuff. Good stuff as far as entertainment. It has slots. There's not that much else interesting but it's a nice neighborhood hangout if you're around it though.“

“Great food. Ok .. so I wanted to start by saying I was supposed to have this food delivery by a gubhub drive but due to some impatience on his part I didn't get it. The staff notified me and picked it up. I appreciated how they handled the situation by telling me and making sure I was still able to get my food. The bar itself looked nice. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and chicken Parmesan sandwich. The cauliflower breading was nicely seasoned and cauliflower was pretty crunchy. The sandwich breading was moist and chicken was pretty good. I could see myself stopping by when I am in the area.“

“I got the poke and one of their signature cocktails. The salmon poke was very fresh and has a good balance of flavors. We were able to get a table with some shade. It is great to be able to eat outside on the rooftop but also feel away from the street. They have an elevator to the roof and you can have a choice of chairs with arms and without. I forgot my phone when I left and they had it waiting for me at the bar downstairs after I called. Great service! We did get there about 3pm for dinner so it wasn't crowded.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator at the back wall when you walk in on the ground floor. You will share the elevator with staff as they go to and from the kitchen to the roof top.“
