Nice coffee shop up in Highland Park. Parking might be tricky at times--I'm not sure what the situation is on the surrounding streets. I stopped in on a gloomy Saturday morning and picked up a chai latte. The restaurant is large but doesn't have a ton of seating. Which for me is ok since I really only grab something to go. Astra is a solid coffee shop in the northern suburbs and I'm so glad to have found it. I've been three times so far and really enjoyed my coffee I've gotten here. The latte art was on point all times which impressed me especially since it's hard to find coffee shops in the suburbs that have baristas able to do latte art. I've tried the Cinnamon Maple Vanilla latte, Cafe Miel, and a cold brew. So far my favor was the cinnamon maple vanilla. All were good but that stood out to me...read full review

The ambiance is rustic and old-style themed. A lot of woody vibes all around. I ordered an almond milk latte. I was surprised to see the look was good but taste was a bit dark and too much. The beans were good but tasted burnt. The notes of the coffee were not as sweet as I had thought they would be. Overall, the latte was smooth and velvety but lacked in taste. I would say a few tweaks and the coffee would be better.
