“The food was outstanding, pizza was the best around. I know the beefs are top notch. You get a chance to stop in and eat there, I would definitely make a must. Went with big group and chicken is fantastic, the ribs are melting, the deep dish pizza was out of this world but my favorite was the loaded tater tots. Anyone that lives close, they deliver which could be really dangerous. Hope this helps. Out.”
“Good food friendly crowd. Definitely worth the stop.Parking: 18Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access & very nice help from people getting my wife a seat at the bar.”
“Love this place the owners are great the bar tenders are the best, and the people for the most part have been coming here for years. It kinda reminds me of cheers. Great atmosphere good people.”
“The Tank is a must if you're in the area (or even if you're not)! The owners are fantastic, and everyone who works there is a great time. Literally one of— if not THE— cleanest bar I have ever been to!”
“So many fun times at this bar, the owner Mike is the nicest guy ever..the manager Dennis definitely keeps everyone on there toes unless he is crabby and you catch him on a bad day ?.. it’s definitely a nice neighborhood bar with great people and has the oldest I mean coldest beer in town”
“Love stopping here usually late night on a weekend. Friendly neighborhood dive bar with pool tables, slot games and old school jukebox! Al is usually bartending when I go and he always makes it fun!”
“Mike is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. His liquor selection is surprisingly good, and he'll even order items that you request. Skip the big chains and shop here for your alcohol instead.”
“A nice little dive bar out of the way from much of Chicagoland I believe this place has a rural feel and might have volleyball courts on the side during the summer. They also have a nice menu and this place overall was a pleasant experience a typical rural suburban old school bar”
“It is a very welcoming place. The service was efficient, the atmosphere was great. We had the Rookie Burger which was very good and the fried cheese curds. The portions were very generous.”
“Quick, fast and simple! All while maintaining their original / traditional outlook! Somethings are meant to stay the same! So happy they have not changed a thing!”
“I have had the pizza, which is always tasty. Today, I didn't feel like cooking and ordered a Friday Fish Fry dinner to go! Was delicious with nice portions of cod, fries, hush puppies and cole slaw. Scott always gives great service and cooks everything to perfection! J's often has some nice events and bands too.”
“Wonderful atmosphere and the our food was prepared by a real chef, something we have been unable to find of late. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, checking often to insure a pleasant dining experience. It is pricey but worth it. We will be back.”
“I miss that place ?I move down south... There taco salad and the steak California burrito are sooo good not just those but all there food is good..And the workers there are great...I you to good ther two to three times a week...”
“Very friendly people work here and make you welcome from the get-go.Had the chorizo casserole. It was delicious and filling. Had a $2 16oz Hamms as well. They had PBR and Stroh's as well.In addition, they have poker machines for entertainment.”
“First time at Tonality. Early dinner. Molly was our server and had 2 excellent reco's. For me it was the Gnocchi which was a plate cleaner. The combo of gnocchi with mushroom and asparagus was smart. The sauce was lemony and tasted a bit like vinegar which I liked. My wife had the pork Schnitzel with spatzel. The breading was dark and tasty. The portion was huge. She loved it. I had a tasty Amber Ale with dinner. Cool brewery atmosphere in an open space. Highly recommend.”
“After growing up within the Latino community, eating authentic Mexican dishes, and learning how to cook within that community, I'm pretty particular about the Mexican food establishments I give my hard-earned cash to, because I know what good Mexican food is and it is often not what you get...Cinco Hermanos gets my money happily! As such, I often have certain requests that may not be on a menu, but I know are doable, based on my knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Not only do they happily receive my request during my phone order, the request is always executed correctly and to my liking. My husband doesn't like certain things in his burrito, and when ordering from other places, those things were either in there, or replaced with other "fillers." He orders the same exact thing every time, so he has often been disappointed...and his requests are easy like no lettuce and no rice inside the burrito...no biggie, right? The first time we ordered the way my hubby likes his burrito, from Cinco Hermanos, not only did they get the order right, they added some extra meat in the burrito as the "filler." That's customer service and attention to detail right there!I love that their tacos ARE NOT GREASY!! We love tacos al pastor, but they are often bathing in grease, which is actually just laziness on the cook's part...I know, because I make them at home, often. I usually don't like to order carryout tacos as a result, because they arrive home soggy and greasy...NOT the experience I've had at Cinco Hermanos! The tortillas rarely have any extra grease on them and the meat is the same. Any tacos I've ever ordered from them arrive home intact, non-soggy, and as delicious as if they were just prepared in my own kitchen!I also really enjoy their green salsa...it tastes like homemade. You can tell that they used fresh ingredients and that it was made in smaller batches. It's hard to explain, but trust me when I say it is one of the best green salsas I've ever had, including some homemade authentic versions. It's a little warmer than most, so be prepared for that, but it is crave-able!If you're looking for a stellar caldo de res, this is the place! Not only did it taste like the thousands of caldo's I've enjoyed in Mexican kitchens over my lifetime, it was served the way you'd be served in said kitchen...plenty of meat and veggies in that delicious broth! My typical experience ordering caldo to-go, is a container with a lot of broth, one or two small pieces of meat, one small carrot, more cabbage than anything, and half a potato...not even enough meat to make a decent taco to eat with the broth. I ordered this one weekend I was sick, and let me tell you, it hit ALL the right spots! Rich broth with an abundance of meat and veggies...exactly the way it would be served in my home kitchen. I was floored when I opened the container and saw it, and then more pleasantly surprised when I tasted it...perfection! Just know that it's only available on weekends and totally worth the wait! Oh, and one of my requests, LOTS of limes, was absolutely fulfilled, happily. Hats off to this place for great customer service!I've not had one thing on the menu that has displeased me, nor has my husband. Not one.Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I have certain requests when I order carryout, not excessive by any means, just certain things we prefer, like only green salsa and no plastic utensils necessary. At other places we've ordered, 8 out of 10 times, there's a bunch of red salsa in the bag - along with the green - and a bunch of plastic forks that end up in our garbage can. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from Cinco Hermanos, the instructions are followed to a T, which tells me that they're good business people and not throwing their money in our garbage can. As a business person, I find that smart, admirable, and a likely indicator of how they run their business on every level. Here's a good "tell" if a Mexican restaurant ”
“Love stopping here for gluten-free/dairy-free treats ? Service is always great + the desserts are so rich + full of flavor. Highly recommend the matcha bar + the tiramisu if you like chocolate. I have celiac disease and it can be a challenge to find gluten-free desserts that aren’t highly processed. Love this place! ??”
“This is a really special place and so needed in this area. We were instantly hooked after the first visit a week ago and couldn't wait to return today. We've had about 5 different menu items and have loved the taste and freshness. Plus the staff is incredibly kind!”
“Absolutely wonderful!!! It was 10:30 on Thursday place was packed like it was Sunday after church. Tonya our waitress was on point. We had 4 people so we split up on 2 tables. The pancakes awesome! The biscuits and gravy best ever. I could have eaten just gravy. It was that good!!”
“Wow! Eating here right now. Have driven past a million times in my work truck never had a chance to stop. We stoped in on a Saturday for breakfast on tue way to Gurnee. Food is amazing!!! Got stuffed biscuits n ”
“I recently worked a wedding at Harbor Brewing for an outside caterer and was very impressed with the staff (great bartenders!), facilities, and ambiance. The happy couple and their guests all seemed to have had a wonderful evening and throughly enjoyed the selection of drinks offered by the venue. In talking with the attendees (and from clearing their empty glasses) it was clear they found the quality of that selection far exceeded the run of the mill menu available elsewhere. Moreover, the bartenders did an great job keeping the lines short, the beverages fresh, and although I unfortunately wasn’t able to banter with them myself every guest walked away from their interactions with a smile on their face. The area in which the event took place was both spacious and beautifully decorated/styled. The brewery’s aesthetic is tasteful and the layout allowed for plenty of room for the crowd to dance and mingle. Personally I thought the wall of whiskey barrels was a brilliant addition - wether it was simply meant as storage or a design element chosen specifically for the look it really brought the room together. This may seem like a weird feature to bring up but having worked tons of weddings at dozens of venues over the years I always take note of the restroom accommodations in an event space because as a party progresses underperforming in this arena can create a ton of problems. Here the bathrooms not only fit the theme (extra points for the keg urinals!) but were kept clean and easily accommodated the parties needs. Finally, the venue is located in Lake Villa’s downtown area somewhat near the train station with plenty of parking for guests available on site as well as near by on Cedar street. Finding the building was no trouble at all and leaving when the event was over was hassle free. Altogether Harbor Brewing is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a space to host an event; a beautiful venue with some wonderful staff pouring outstanding beer will make for a night you and your friends won’t soon forget.”
“The service here was excellent, and the food was beyond my expectations!! I got a Denver omelet and some raspberry cream cheese crepes. Wow, they were so good! It was a busy place on a Saturday morning, but we got seated after only a five minute wait. I would definitely go back again.”
“We stopped and picked up some ribs, jerk chicken, burnt ends to go. I am a confessed BBQ snob and I was blown away at the execution of cooking and the flavor. I dislike BBQ places that so do season adequately, but they delivered on all accounts. They were also very patient as I was looking over the menu and ordering. Will definitely be back!”
“Wonderful place. I can’t believe I haven’t tried this shop sooner. My latte was silky smooth and robust. The barista was so sweet, she even made me a cute heart! Latte art was so cute. Made my self care day even more special.”
“During my recent visit to B&B Restaurant in Grayslake, I decided to order the Italian beef, a dish I usually can’t get enough of. Unfortunately, this time, the meat was overcooked, which was a bit of a letdown for my taste buds. I specifically asked for it “really dipped” (swimming in the juice), or alternatively, with two extra juices on the side along with sweet and hot peppers. The price was reasonable, falling within the average range you’d expect for such a meal.On a brighter note, the restaurant’s interior boasts a pretty nice modern finish, and it’s kept very clean. The staff and service were very polite and welcoming, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. Despite the hiccup with the main course, I’m intrigued by the lunch menu and would like to come back to try different options, hoping for a more satisfying culinary experience next time.”
“Lovely environment and lots of fun decor! Great place to relax and enjoy your cup of Joe! WiFi available! Not the fastest service, even when not busy. Lovely place though!”
“I am coffee lover. I like to try coffee in small local shops and I am always surprise by good atmosphere and good service. Thank you for the coffee and muffins, it was fantastic.”
“You walk in to tastefully but simply decorated dining experience. Add to that a very pleasant young lady with her sweet Cuban accent welcomes you.I had garlic chicken, my son had the rib sandwich. Both were great. May be a bit more chicken in the sandwich would have put over the top. Also coffee was made to order fresh and hot with real cream.Parking: No issuesRight front of restaurant there are about 1/2 a dozen spots.”
“Wow ?! The rotisserie chicken was tender and tasty. The lady at the counter took the time to explain what the different plates were. The food was fresh and the sauces were homemade and very savory. The place can use a bit more of ambience but is very clean.Kid-friendliness: Kids menú available”

“Random Find for me! This place is amazing. Needed some brisket for some poppers for a party. The owner was so hopefully. I tried several different menu items and everything was so delicious. This place is a 10+++ in my book. I highly recommend the brisket and wings.”
