“Sweet Melissa's Pizza and Pub was a great place to stop for a beer and food. Inside was really nice with lots of tv's. Meatball Sandwich was a monster. I had to cut the meatballs in half just to handle it. Meatballs were just ok. Parmesan Fries, Italian Egg Rolls and the soup were all delicious. The Chicken Tenders were just average. Very friendly and professional staff.“

Talk about pizza... the ingredients are fresh and plentiful, cheese just the right texture and amount, crust crispy and satisfying so much so that you can eat 2 (maybe 3 pieces ) and not feel STUFFED! Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is nostalgically comfortable. Our 11 month grandbaebae was happily acknowledged by all waitstaff though they were busily weaving thru the tables with their pizza pies and libations. They offered to take a picture of our group of 6 afterwards, as we were celebrating our son's birthday. On our return home, realizing an item wrapped in a napkin, was left behind and most likely tossed, I called and the owner (Jerry O.) offered to look thru the waste and by the time I returned to the restaurant, seeing him with a smile on his face, I knew he had found it !! That's going the extra mile... hurray to Uncle Jerry and his crew !!“

“My husband discovered this restaurant has an entirely gluten-free menu and is farm-to-table. The offerings were so good! On our first visit, we began with the charcuterie board and bruschetta, then two of us had a scallop special, and my son had the flat iron steak. All the bread was fresh and excellent--not "for being GF" but just plain good. The dessert choices were interesting and my husband had the lemon poppy seed cake with a lemon sauce. And the wine list was phenomenal! A fun mix of specialty cocktails, too!We have returned multiple times and had consistently good food and service. The menu evolves to incorporate seasonal items.“

“Fun tiki like atmosphere inside, but you don’t really get good views of the water from inside restaurant. I got the bbq bacon burger and it was great! The fries were a seasoned kind, they were good but not my fave. The mister got the all you eat fish fry. They bring out two fried cod pieces at a time. The beer battered fish was great and so was tartar sauce, especially the spicy one was fantastic! Only complaint is we waited awhile for another serving of fish - but when it came out it was hot and fresh! We asked for side of blue cheese and some hot sauce - be aware they charge you for 75 cent for every sauce without letting you know.“

“I've been going to Olando's for at least a decade now, and have yet to have a bad experience there. My most recent trip with my fiancee was no exception.The servers are friendly and helpful, the food is delivered quickly (even when they are busy), the portions are huge and the quality of the food is outstanding. While I've had their pizza before and really enjoyed it, I constantly find myself drawn to the "Bootie," an Italian beef sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese. It's got enough au jus in the sandwich to make it very flavorful (though next time I'll probably ask for some extra on the side, as I love sandwiches like this extra wet).My fiancee was impressed by the salad that came with her dinner, noting that it looked and tasted like it was made fresh to order. And she couldn't believe the serving size of her plate of lasagna. If there is a complaint - and I use that term very loosely - it's that there is so much good food served in the course of a meal that neither of us had room for dessert! Some day, I will sample the wares from Diana's Dream, the ice cream parlor that is part of Olando's... but for this particular visit, we left full and happy, and can't wait to visit again!July 2019“

“My waiter was good and friendly. I sat in covered patio. I ordered a spring salad with shrimp. blackberries, grapefruit, candied pecans, arugula and berry vinaigrette and a side of Mac n cheese. The salad was missing the pecans but I forgot until I left, I thought something was missing. However, the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The ratio of shrimp to half portion was good. Mac N Cheese was ok. Noodles were undercooked and some still hard/crunchy edges and cheese sauce was just average and a bit gritty/thick. However, I was not expecting my meal to be served with plastic wrapped plastic utensils. a take home box for salad and a take home container for dining in. That was disappointing. the table of eight next to me was a bit shocked too to get their meals in to go cardboard containers.“

“We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. BuddyZ answered the call. They had a banquet room in the back with access to the patio. We had the pizza, salad, chicken fingers, mostaccioli bar. The food was brought out as soon as we arrived. There were tables of varied heights which accomodated our entire family. “I ordered catering from Eggville Cafe a friend of mine said their catering was amazing and I had a family gathering coming up I had to try it out! Everything was perfectly cooked they had so many different options to choose from I ordered the kebabs and a side salad, some potatoes some meatballs and a couple other things that they threw in everything tasted amazing. It was delicious and was reasonably priced if you were looking for catering for any event like a graduation coming up or birthday or family gatherings I definitely highly recommend them they were amazing and they got everything I wanted and more!!“
