“There is such a chill vibe and multiple spaces to enjoy outdoor RN there's even a doggy parking lot. I love the family nature of this business and it is a black owned family owned business with top quality service and fresh ingredients. I just wish they stayed open longer so I can spend more money with them.“
“This is my second time here at chi tiva. I visit the location downtown first and second time at the Worth, IL location. My experience completely different from the first time around. I visit location downtown informing workers my first time how they offered to let us sample slushy flavors nice jester….they did not inform me of dosage and explain how it may possibly affect first timer. With that being said I ordered 50mg coffee taking a few sips and telling my sister she immediately told me to go back to check out and order a 10mg let them know it was my first time. I can say my experience second time around at the Worth location with Lori she greeted us and explained everything we were interested in getting letting us know dosages and tolerance level. I mentioned at the end I really appreciate her customer service and explaining super knowledgeable. I told myself I would probably not come back but this experience definitely worth coming back when in town. Thank you!“

“Charming little ice cream place. Kids thought the ice cream was great, and there are non dairy options. One person in our group ordered coffee that was forgotten, and when she checked back with the cashier, the cashier asked to see a receipt for proof, I guess.“

“Cafe 53 in Chicago is an absolute gem and deserves every bit of praise it receives. I can't express how much I love this place! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed meal, catching up with friends, or enjoying some quiet time with a book. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Cafe 53 is a delightful mix of flavors and options. I've tried several dishes here, and each one has been a culinary masterpiece. Whether it's their delicious breakfast offerings or their mouthwatering sandwiches and salads for lunch, every bite is a taste sensation. And don't get me started on their coffee - it's the perfect pick-me-up to start your day. What truly sets Cafe 53 apart is their exceptional customer service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready with a warm smile. They make you feel like a valued guest with their prompt service and genuine hospitality. I've been a regular at Cafe 53 for quite some time now, and it never disappoints. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's a must-visit spot in Chicago for anyone who appreciates delicious food, a welcoming ambiance, and fantastic service. I can't wait for my next visit!“

And one of the baristas was so sweet and catering to us, she was wearing a head scarf didn’t get her name. We will be going back just because of her and the servers! Amazing staff.“

“Loved the ambience, their milk cakes are amazing. I wish I could try them all but maybe next time. They serve the famous Yemeni Adeni chai but their flavour is not as great as Qahwah House. We also tried their Bischoff cheesecake which was decent.“

“Spunky shop in a gritty part of town. No inside seating and it was way too cold to sit on the patio this morning, so unfortunately I was in and out quick and didn’t talk to the baristas cuz they looked busy. But I really liked the urban hipster look and feel (and fun branding) especially given the rough neighborhood location. And they roast their own beans so the coffee was bold.“

“Clean spot with amazing drinks. I thought the spicy chicken avocado wrap (pictured) was nasty (the texture reminded me of canned tuna) but the breakfast bagel (consumed before a pic could be taken) and the Mexican Mocha and Cafe de Olla latte were amazing.“

Looking forward to experiencing the live music and other events scheduled here. Personally I love that I can work here instead of from home. Great addition to the area. Just keep my pistachio latte with oak milk available. Haha“

“Everything’s fresh and expertly prepared and served in a family-run, family-friendly food gem. A real surprise are the Indian meals that you can pick up to cook at home. Beverly Bakery does the traditional bakery baking and delicious flat top breakfasts as well as anyone but no one on the south side can make Indian food as good as theirs - a real treat and a very welcomed surprise. Well-traveled Chicagoans hope they add samosas and pakora to take home to go along with the tasty Chicken Hariyali and the Aloo Gobi!Beverly/Morgan Park: start your taste buds and expand your culinary expectations! “Nice place to take your laptop for work in the morning. If you want to become a Chicago burb local and adopt the "Da Bears" accent, this place is right up your street. Get a matcha latte (no oat or soy milk for me please. Only Whole Milk unless you have raw cow's milk) or just one of the Collectivo brews. They sell Collectivo beans and their private label beans which are nice. I don't eat donuts, but they have a better selection than Dunkin'. And do you like dogs? Well there's a little dog too- Chanel, your temporary emotional support animal.Do you want to live a real-life Cheers episode where everybody knows your name? And you're always (kinda) glad you came? “Overall it is good for working. I think it is worth for the pastries and coffee. I like the variation of lattes and etc, very unique. The sandwiches always come way too soggy though, for me it is the worst sandwiches compared to other coffee shops around; I wouldn't recommend eating those (my opinion)“

“The pancakes & coffee are the best. They have a canela coffee that doesn’t have any sugar and it’s so homey! The breakfast ham is good but the portion is on the smaller side. The chia pudding is refreshing- you can taste the quality of the all the ingredient they use. A very cute and clean place to enjoy a made from scratch breakfast.Parking: There’s a lot in the back of the building, accessible through the alley. Street parking is free on Sundays.“

“This cute coffee shop sits inside an easy to find cafe with a decent amount of parking. They’ve got a creative specialty menu along with the traditional menu you’d expect from a coffee shop. We ordered seamlessly online and picked up a hot Bananas Foster latte, an iced The Bourbon latte, and lightly spiced Cold Brew. The Bananas Foster was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of banana flavor and spice. The Bourbon’s buttery caramel notes were perfection. The Cold Brew was one of the best I’ve ever had. Easy to sip or guzzle, the dark roast cold brew was refreshing and so smooth. Excellent coffee, friendly service, a cool atmosphere, and the heart-shaped straws made for a memorable experience.“

“This place is worth the stop! Whether you are visiting Pullman National Historical Park, in the area, or driving nearby, this is the place to stop for a coffee break. Great coffee, teas and other drinks, as well as bakery treats like muffins and donuts. But the atmosphere really seals the deal. The shop is in a restored Pullman executive home, right across from the NPS site, with cozy common seating areas, lots of books to peruse, and historic artifacts from the historic district. The shop raises money for the Pullman House Project, a non-profit in the same building that provides guided tours of period Pullman homes. Between the NPS location, the Pullman House Project tour and then a coffee after, it's a great afternoon plan!“

“I wouldn’t go out of my way again to patronize person behind the counter today not friendly today which ok is fine but myself and my friend had to both ask a few times for napkins and stirrers. I asked she didn’t give them, waited on someone else and then to back on her phone. My friend asked similar reaction but at least she finally gave to her so we shared the stirrer lol“

“Decided to come here with a friend. Their cookies were delicious. Ended up purchasing a valentine cookie along with a sundae. The sundae consisted of Grasshopper flavored ice cream with gummy bears, hot fudge, and nuts.Aside from the treats and ice cream flavors, I really appreciated the customer service. When I first got the sundae, I noticed the gummy bears were missing on my sundae. When addressed this, one of the staff members fixed my order and it made my night. I’d come back again.“

“I live on the same block and had passed this place many times going to chicken and waffles. I messaged on IG to check if they had wifi as I wanted to stop in and get some work done for a change of scenery (I work from home). They got back to me in a few mins welcoming me in. I've only had a few of the food items and smoothies but what I'm most impressed with is the staff and the fact that they give you enough dressing for your whole salad. It's the little things for me“

“De Mar's in Blue Island, IL is a must-visit for anyone in the mood for classic American diner fare. The restaurant has a cozy, old-school feel that instantly transports you to a simpler time. Every time I sit down in a booth it makes me feel like i can talk about nothing, (a Seinfeld reference). The menu is full of classic diner dishes, from hearty breakfast options to juicy burgers and sandwiches to homemade soups and salads. I particularly enjoyed the Tuna melt, which was perfectly put together with just the right amount of cheese and tune on white bread. The French toast was also excellent, with a soft and fluffy texture that melted in my mouth. But if you want the traditional, just order the all American breakfast, 2 sunny side up eggs with hash browns and two slices of bread, along with a cup of coffee. Everything is delicious. The staff at De Mar's are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were quick to offer suggestions on what to order and were always on hand to refill drinks or answer any questions. The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. There is plenty of seating, so you won't have to wait long to be seated, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Overall, I highly recommend De Mar's to anyone looking for a traditional American diner experience. So if you are in the area of Blue Island this restaurant It's a gem, that I plan on returning to in the future.“

“The crème brûlée Cappuccino was great ! I added coconut flavor too . The New York Cheesecake French Toast was super amazing !! It really did taste like cheesecake filling . The other dish that I got was the Chorizo Skilet which was super tastey . I haven’t had that style of chorizo before so it was cool trying it . The potato’s inside of it made the dish so much more tastey !! A little bit spicy but you can expect that with Chorizo . Everything was so homemade and exceeded our expectations. I did wait over 40 minutes for my dishes and cappuccino I understand that maybe making those styled drinks is a process and maybe might need a little more staff for the amount of customer volume and to make these dishes . But my service was good and you can see all the workers are going fast and trying . Overall cute place and amazing homemade food .“

“Cute local coffee shop. I got a cortado with coconut milk, my wife got the special "Witch's Brew", and our daughter got the iced chai latte. My wife and I loved ours, but our daughter said her chai tasted weird. I didn't know until later when she threw it away already, so I can't comment on what happened there. “I've lived in the area for 20 years and have seen a few places come and go out of this spot. Almendro has had the best food and atmosphere. Very homey and the empanadas are great. Pasties and salads look wonderful as well. I'll be back and we need to support this place. It's the perfect mom and pop and we really need more spots like this in the area. The Mexican coffee is wonderful and after losing the Argentine Cafe this is the new go to.“

“Not a bad coffee shop by any means but a bit expensive and my jambon-beurre was weirdly cold. They get it premade from Publican but don’t heat it up apparently. The space is cramped, the poetry books are ok, and the coffee is fine. Not my vibe.“

“I usually order from this place via ubereats and besides the fact that their food is AMAZING, I want to take a moment to appreciate the safety precautions they take when it comes to food like adding stickers to the smoothies and bags to show if someone has tampered with it. “I wish I could give five stars! The coffee is excellent! Café de olla, mazapán latte, cha cha latte - chef's kiss. Customer service is usually pretty great, on occasion the you get cashiers seem a little stand offish. The reason I can't give five stars is the quality of the breakfast sandwiches-brioche bun isn't good, stale croissants, always out of bagels. It seems like their Pilsen location is better stocked. Negative notes aside, I love this place and am a loyal customer for the drinks and the delicious cupcakes (please try them!).“
