“Instant favorite. My review is for the restaurant - Danny Boys. I 'found' this place while biking a few years ago. Was sitting across the street taking a breather when I spotted the restoration of this building. I believe they've been open for a while now, but we finally managed to stop in with some friends last night. The menu was slightly different there than the one I saw online, but the in-house menu seemed to have more options. Either way, they have a wide variety of choices ranging from burgers to traditional German plates to tacos, which I ordered. This was a group of three terrific taco's and a side of rice that will make me go back for more. My son had the plate of dumplings which I tried, also just as good. The service here was quick and very friendly. We're interested to come back in the summer when the outdoor patio is open. Cheers.“

“Great place! I was blown away by the battered cod dinner. At $12.99 it was excellent. Probably the best fried cod I've ever had at a restaurant. Had the smoked Old Fashioned and it was carefully hand crafted before my eyes. My lunch companions has a burger and the weinerschitnzal (spelled wrong) and everyone loved the food.“

“My family has been regular customers since 1999. We haven't had any problems. The food is wonderful and ALWAYS made fresh. The owner is so kind and sweet. Always welcomes us into her restaurant. We do carry out, but you can eat in the small dining area. Very delicious place to go !!!!“

“First time there. Came in with a party of 6. The restaurant was very busy. But our server Crystal was outstanding!!!!!! Very personable, knowledgeable, and all recommendations were spot on. Appetizers, meals and desserts were amazing. The runners, bus help also 5 stars. As we were leaving the owner actually made it a point to ask us how everything was. We will definitely be back. “First time here - the wide selection of whiskey, beer, cocktails and food is remarkable. Service was great. The smoked salmon appetizer appetizer was the star of the show. The Korean Pork fried rice was good but would have liked more pork. The only real negative was our entree's were served halfway thru our appetizer course. But we will be back.“

“I’ve been coming to the Playroom with my now 3 year old for over a year. It’s our go to indoor place to play - the workers are excellent, the food variety is healthy and delicious, and they are always cleaning the toys. So much for the kids to do - slides, ball pit, kitchen, bikes, rollercoaster, fire station, doctor, baby area, grocery store.. all the toys are in great condition and of great quality. We spend hours here when the weather isn't great. Every time I ask my toddler what she wants to do in the morning she says “playroom!” Highly recommend.“

“This was our second time here, first was for our two year anniversary, this time for our four year anniversary. The food and service did not disappoint either time, generous portions, cooked to perfection, service last time was good, this time service was wonderful, our server was an older gentleman, a Navy Veteran, although I cannot remember his name, but he was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and he made sure our anniversary dinner was perfect. We will absolutely be back!“

“Love this place!!! I've been here a few times and frequently get food to go and they have so many delicious options. The burger list is huge and I've heard great things about them even though I haven't tried one yet (I just like other things more than burgers). The fish & chips are BOMB and their French fries & tater tots are top tier which is important for me lol. My husband and I went last night for "singo" for the first time. They play 45 seconds of a song and if you have the title on your bingo board you mark it off. It was SO much fun. And I won a free piece of cheesecake as a prize so that was nice! I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap which was just okay. I think it would've been a little better if I got it with crispy chicken instead of shredded. My husband ordered the Cobb salad which is always really good and their portions sizes are generous. Service was great and we can't wait to make singo a regular outing!“

“Basils has been my favorite restaurant since I first went there in 2012. They have been through many changes and faced challenges during Covid, but they have always come through with excellent food. “My Tofu basil fried rice and papaya salad was exceptionally good today! I had to call to find out if the restaurant got new cooks because the last few times I’ve eating here rice was bland and burnt. Sure enough we were told they got new owners and cooks in January and you can really tell on the food quality it was the best I’ve had in a while there! My mom tried my basil fried rice and went back to pick up her own chicken basil fried rice for her and my dad. Will be coming back next week for more! Yummm…“

“We made reservations for 4 for 6:30 and we were glad we did because they were busy due to Singo being played at 7. We arrived at 6:20 and were promptly seated at a table that had a large reserved sign on it.Our waitress was very nice and greeted us promptly and told us about the food and drink specials. We ordered our drinks and a bit later ordered our food. Singo started just after 7:15 due to the Bears draft pic being on some of the monitors. This gave us time to start on some of our food. The wings were absolutely delicious. We had the mild ones. Be weary of the hot ones as I had them at the Naperville store and they were blazin hot! The special pizza of the night was a brisket pizza that my 24 year old son really enjoyed. He had 2 mixed drinks also that he gave a big thumbs up ? to. The wife had the Italian Wedding Soup in a bread bowl that she rated as good overall. I had the turkey and ham sandwich with bacon and a salad as my side. It was very good. My daughter just had a drink which she really enjoyed. They also shared a cotton candy and my son made a beard out of a small portion of it. They loved it. Singo was very fun. A lady next to us won 3 times plus the Jackpot of $475. I won once also and claimed a Jersey Mikes meal. The entire dining room appeared to have a great time. They do this every Thursday night at 7 pm.“

About fifteen minutes later they called us in and Tanner made everything go as far as lightening. The food was great. “Spectacular service! Wow, how did I miss this restaurant? I go to Yorkville often to eat and this was my first visit here. The menu has tons of selections from steaks to salad and sandwiches. The portions were too large for my crew, but I got to bring home delicious leftovers that I ate the next day! Yum! While there I spilled my drink and the waiters and waitresses ran to help clean up. We stopped in around 4:30 / 5pm, so not like it was end of day. Bacon jam is one of their signature toppings, and they were out? Needless to say, my wife was sad, on mother's day after a 25min ride, because they were out.“

“This place is excellent. The owner and his wife know how to make wood fired pizza. They are very friendly and run a tight ship. We get the chopped salad with the house dressing, the margarita pizza and a custom pizza. Ingredients are always fresh and everything is made to order behind the bar. I highly recommend the house salad dressing! This place blows away any restaurant in down town Plainfield!Parking: Big Paulie’s is the only business that’s open past 4pm in this side of the strip mall, so there’s always plenty of parking!“

“My wife and I went there for the first time in many a year. We were greeted by Ava when we walked in and she quickly seated us at our table. Little did we know she was going to be our waitress. After seating us and bringing us water she explained the special of the day, half price bottles of wine. We ordered an appetizer (spinach and cheese garlic bread) and our pizza. “My husband and I grabbed lunch at Burrito Parrilla Mexicana in a week day. We were looking for something quick and hearty, and not a burger-type drive thru. We had driven past this spot and bookmarked it on our "to try" list in the neighborhood. We were so glad we finally had the chance to swing by. We dined in and ordered: 3 taco dinner* (steak, chicken, carnitas) steak burrito 2 fountain drinks *dinner = with rice and beans for a few bucks extra Their set-up inside is fast casual. Order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. Drinks are self-serve. Our meal came with complimentary chips and house made salsa. The salsa was so good I could drink that stuff. The server also brought out 3 more bottles of salsa (salsa verde, a ghost-peppery spicy one, and a smoked chile one); I don't know the actual names of them but they were a trio of the best flavors to add to your meal. They have horchata and agua de piña (pineapple water) in these self serve clear tubs where you'd typically see iced tea, lemonade, or some sort of slushie. I had 3 full-cup refills of the pineapple water (!!!) because it was that delicious. This might also be called their piña colada drink, I am not 100% sure. It's sugary, yes, and perhaps I was extra thirsty but the drink had little bits of pineapple pulp which was so so good. It was so refreshing and I've never had a drink like it before. Order a fountain drink and get it if you're here. For my 3 taco dinner, I chose to get a chicken taco, steak taco, and a carnitas taco. You can choose your protein and steak is 50 cents extra per taco. I got the "dinner" add on with rice and beans to make it a meal, and you can choose from refried beans or black beans. Everything was tasty and the food came out quickly. If I had to say one thing that wasn't really a thing is that the lime wedges that came with my meal had no juice. It's one of those limes when you squeezed, the pulp was all for show. The limes were dry and had no juice but I didn't bother to request more limes. Their trio of salsas that come in bottles (that they'll bring to your table with your food) is all you really need imo. My husband got the burrito and we said out loud between our bites, "I can see ourselves being regulars at this place." Next time I'd love to try their tortas and guacamole. We will be back!“
