“Hidden gem in Budlong Woods/Arcadia terrace. Maria’s cooking is amazing and Anri makes an incredible cocktail. The crowd is usually 30 and 40 somethings. Music also perfect for an elder Millenial like me. Every friend and neighbor I introduce to Rosewood falls in love for good reason. 5 stars all around.“

“Whiskey River Bar & Grill, nestled in the heart of the North Shore is more than just a watering hole—it's a beacon of camaraderie, a testament to the alchemy of good food and spirited beverages, masterfully blended under the watchful eyes of its custodians, Matt, Virginia, and the unparalleled Athena. With an ambiance that whispers of nights filled with laughter and music, this establishment offers a sanctuary for those weary of the world's cacophony, seeking solace in the arms of a perfectly crafted gin martini or the crispy embrace of a chicken sandwich that beckons with the promise of addiction. Here, every visit is an odyssey through culinary delights, from the eggs benedict that sing a symphony of flavors to the embrace of a free parking lot that awaits without judgment. Whiskey River is not just a bar; it's a crucible where the spirits of hospitality meld with the essence of community, birthing an experience that transcends the mundane. In an age where the digital ether threatens to usurp our sense of connection, Whiskey River stands as a bastion of the tangible, the real. It's a place where the strumming of a guitar on a Wednesday jam night brings strangers together, bound by the universal language of music and the magnetic pull of Matt's hospitality. It's a realm where Athena, with her unmatched prowess behind the bar, weaves magic into every drink, turning first-time visitors into lifelong patrons, drawn back time and again by the allure of a place that feels like a second home. The transformation under new ownership is a delicate dance between preservation and innovation, where the essence of what made Whiskey River a beloved haunt remains untouched, even as subtle changes imbue it with new life. It's a testament to the understanding that in the world of bars and grills, the soul of a place is its people—both those who serve and those who are served. In Glenview, a town that dances to the rhythm of its own beat, Whiskey River Bar & Grill is more than a mere establishment; it's a chapter in the story of a community that finds joy in the simple pleasures of good food, great drinks, and the company of those who share in the unspoken bond of humanity. It is here, amidst the laughter and clinking glasses, that one remembers the beauty of life in its unvarnished truth, a reminder that in the end, it is not the places we go, but the memories we make and the hearts we touch that truly matter. So, to those wandering souls searching for a place where authenticity reigns supreme, where the gin is always perfect, and the chicken sandwich becomes a craving you can't ignore, look no further than Whiskey River Bar & Grill. Here, in this haven on Waukegan Road, you will find more than just a meal or a drink—you will find a piece of home.“

“My husband and I have been coming here for years. The owners, Chris and Nikki and the bartender, Monica are always welcoming and take good care of us. Nice atmosphere, good company, lots of tvs if you want to watch the game, great music playing in the background. The food is always very good and freshly made. Some of our favorites are the chicken kabobs, the Jerry's Special, and the burgers, which are excellent! Half price martinis on Wednesdays with a long list of options to choose from. We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday there and they were very accommodating and everyone had a great time!“

“The Black Sheep Bar is an absolute hidden gem that exceeded all expectations. The 9-foot diamond pool table was a highlight of our visit, providing a unique and enjoyable gaming experience. Amy, the bartender, was not only incredibly sweet but also showcased an impressive knowledge of the extensive drink menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, making our evening all the more enjoyable. Meeting the owner, Silva, was a pleasant surprise, adding a personal touch to our experience. The Black Sheep Bar is a must-visit for those seeking a fantastic atmosphere, exceptional service, and a touch of authenticity.“

“Pleasantly surprised by this place located on Bryn Mawr between Kedzie and Kimball. The initial impression was that the prices on the menu seemed a bit high given its location. And some dishes like hummus plate, which consisted of cut up carrots and cucumber with pita bread and a large spoonful of hummus, was not worthwhile at $14. Same goes for a bowl of Irish cabbage soup for $10. Having said, other items like chicken wings and burgers were quite delicious and were worth paying little more for them. Given their great beer selection and wonderful cocktails, it is worth a visit.“

“Do yourself a favor and grab some friends for karaoke and Korean food at AGIT. A group of us went on a Saturday night and we had a karaoke room for 2hrs. Depending on the size of your group they may add a few chairs in so everyone can fit. Once you're in your room you can start with the karaoke session and in the corner of the TV tells you how much time you have left of your session. They also have instructions on the wall for how to use the remote to choose songs and how to use the control. You can press a button and a staff member will come and wait on you. We ordered a handful of stuff to share family style. We had the bulgogi, fried chicken, seafood pancake, tteokbokk. There was plenty of food to go around and everything I ate was enjoyable. It was so much fun being in a private room and eating delicious food. I wish they would have had plates instead of the paper boats because you can't fit much in the boat and maybe some serving untensils for the dishes. But minor things I could look past. They are located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking avaliable.“

“I can honestly say this is one of my favorite pubs in the city. Whoever is behind the bar is always gonna take good care of you. The staff is friendly and seemingly concerned to make sure you're having a good time. And it doesn't hurt that they have GOOD live music. A regular spot for sure!“

“Great bar! Like a REAL bar, where you can grab a beer and a shot, talk Chicago sports and neighborhood with Regulars, helmed by a great bartender, Ken. Bonus Points... having an incredible name (Bringer Inn, love that) and being right next door to, arguably, Chicago's BEST Deep Dish pizza.“

“The chicken sandwich is a favorite!! Mary is a great cook. Don't sleep on the food here. If Mary's cooking - get it! Also, she does some great game day specials - nachos, etc. Good snacks. Good beefs, good sausages, and the best chicken mozzarella bacon sandwich on a hoagie.“

“Great spot for families. Rocks definitely flies under the radar considering how many bars are on Lincoln but we love this place. They have a good kids menu and a spacious dining area, along with some bar games. We usually see a few other families there if we do an early dinner with the kids. The side patio is great in the summer as well.Kid-friendliness: Great for kids“

“I got the poke and one of their signature cocktails. The salmon poke was very fresh and has a good balance of flavors. We were able to get a table with some shade. It is great to be able to eat outside on the rooftop but also feel away from the street. They have an elevator to the roof and you can have a choice of chairs with arms and without. I forgot my phone when I left and they had it waiting for me at the bar downstairs after I called. Great service! We did get there about 3pm for dinner so it wasn't crowded.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator at the back wall when you walk in on the ground floor. You will share the elevator with staff as they go to and from the kitchen to the roof top.“

“I cannot believe that no reviews or comments have been made about this business! They have great servers/bartenders! They have beanbag tournaments during nice weather months. Their food is outstanding! I had one of THE BEST corned beef sandwich on St Patrick's Day I've ever had! They have video gambling, which is fine if that's your thing. Outdoor bar is nice during warmer weather! Parking is enough for their size. It's unique inside with authentic plane parts, including helicopter landing gear for the bars kick plate. Jimmy the owner is very friendly and will buy you a drink/shot when he's there and his son, Chase, is a fabulous cook! Conveniently located minutes from O'Hare airport!“

“Came here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the staff. Super delicious but gigantic so come hungry. Only took off a star cause they don't have any draft selections. Would definitely be back but share a dinner or plan to eat it for days ha ha. Bartender was super friendly and helpful as were the regulars there. They have a jukebox and take credit cards.“

“I was visiting from AZ and stopped in for lunch. The Brisket queso is not your Velvettea cheese queso folks! Found out 4 cheeses make this so different and delicious and topped with some smoked Texas brisket, next level!!. Note: It does carry some heat though if you are sensitive. I decided on a Chipotle burger on Texas Toast bread and sided it with some of the best onion ring's I've ever had in my 67 years. It was a delicious lunch full of flavor and seasoning and my mouth loved every bite. Wish this place was in AZ!“
