“What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said or known to be true. Little bad wolf has the best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. I don't know what they do but it's liquid crack in those noodles and I just can't get enough of it.The burgers there are also top five in Chicago. Definitely try the bao buns and the tacos as well as they have tons of flavor and they never disappoint. One of my favorite appetizers is the elotes which is absolutely amazing.I love this place I just wish it was closer to me and they took reservations but I'll keep coming back as long as they got the liquid cheddar crack.“

“Gather is simply my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Every dish is incredible: the ricotta-honey spread and buttery toast, citrus cured salmon with fried egg, carmelized brussels sprouts with aioli...and that's before you even get to the entrees. Truth be told, I've never actually made it to dessert here because I'm already so stuffed from everything else.The decor is classy but comfortable; you'll dine by candlelight with a list of appealing cocktails ready to hand. If you're lucky, you can sit with a direct view of the kitchen where you can watch the magic happen.Incredible spot--if this place ever closes, you can rest assured that I will weep bitter tears for it. “Thanks to Open Table, we made our first visit to Scotty's and we're glad we did. We were greeted warmly and well cared for by Jay and others. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. “We have been coming to Prairie Grass for years! The staff is like family, always warm and welcoming. Food is always consistently delicious. “We had a really nice dinner here a couple days before Christmas. It has a really cozy neighborhood feel and the waiter was super nice. They have a daily happy hour which was awesome, we got mussels and cocktail shrimp for a really good price. It is very family friendly, they were very kind to our toddler. “Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“

“Both the food and the service were impeccable! I had an unusually delicious and easy to eat roast chicken breast, and the Brussels salad was fantastic as well. Our waiter was perfect. He has been there 10 years apparently! We didn't love the ambiance-- a bit too corporate, lacking personality. But we'll be back for the food!“

“I was always resistant to trying bar food but my son loves going there with his friends so, I had to give it a try and to my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“Took the family out for Sunday breakfast and we were excited to visit this spot. I was looking forward to the Llpingacho Benedict, which I was so curious about. The flavor was very good and unique with the potato cakes and grilled tomatoes. Surprisingly, the most tasty item we had were the pancakes. My son ordered the oreo pancakes and I had a bite of it. I was floored by the rich taste and texture of the pancakes. I'd return just for those. Before ending this post, I cannot forget to mention that they have outstanding service and hospitality. Check this spot out, you won't be disappointed.“

“This place seemed as if it was an upscale sports bar. Plenty on tvs to view games, but above that was the food! I was very surprised at how everything tasted, making me savor that last bite. Cocktails ? were pleasant and just the overall presentation. If you are in the area, definitely make a stop and try this place. The fried alligator was a hit!!“

“I stayed at the Graduate in Evanston for a few days in July. I really liked the vintage style of the hotel building, and the friendly staff, but I was dismayed at how cold it was in the hotel because of the excessive air conditioning. I turned it off in our room as soon as we arrived and the temperature remained comfortable there during our whole stay. It seemed to me that the AC in the lobby, the restaurant, and the bar was actually set to a lower temperature than the heating would be in the winter. And there was a fire in the fireplace, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s outside and AC on! The Graduate Hotel management seems to be ignoring how important saving energy is right now, in light of global warming. Their blatant disregard for the environment sent a shiver down my spine in more than one way.“

“In a neighborhood that could use a good pub/bar/restaurant, this place fills multiple needs. Good pub food, friendly staff, large bar area to sit, and sizable tables and booths for large parties or families. This is a good place to watch sports and have a burger or BBQ.“

“While unassuming and a little out of the way, there's nothing better than a restaurant/bar with a small town feel, cheap drinks, and an interesting menu. The bartenders were easygoing and helpful, the other patrons were very chill, and we were able to find our own spot and enjoy the day. “My two friends and I had a lovely evening at Convito Cafe. All the staff with whom we interacted were very pleasant and professional, and the food was quite good. Almost best of all, they kept the music soft, and we were actually able to converse with each other without having to shout - something that is becoming increasingly difficult in many restaurants. “I visited this restaurant several times over the past year. The food has been consistently good. It consist of traditional Irish food along with lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The drink menu is high class. The atmosphere is also very high class. the interior ambience Strikes me as sophisticated with the charm of a classic Irish pub. The exterior seating is comfortable and the majority of it is down a quieter side street. There were some inconsistencies with the service. The first several times I went service was good waiters were attentive and it was a nice experience. The last time I went, it was a very nice day out. There were a lot of people dining at the restaurant, and the service was not as good as previous times. we had very long times for food, drink, and bill pay. I could understand when the restaurant was very busy that there are other customers that need attention so it is OK to have things take a little bit longer, but when things started to calm down, it seemed like the wait times we experienced we’re hard to justify. All that aside, I would still recommend this restaurant, to my friends and family and I intend on going back.Dietary restrictions: this restaurant caters to those with gluten sensitivity and vegetarian. I am unsure of the vegan options, but all the gluten friendly items were very delicious.“

“This is a cool spot in Highwood. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but everything was pretty good.I got the rueban sandwich because we were there on St Patrick's Day. It was ok. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better.The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good.The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners.The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.“

“I travel a lot and work in the food and entertainment industry, I have dined at Vincent everytime I am in Chicago for Brunch on Sunday (the Broadway Showtunes Brunch is so fun), Dinner on Thursday and a Friday night. Wed & Thurs. are great for a quiet meal and the staff are so friendly. I frequently see that same staff everytime I visit so clearly management is doing something right with keeping the good ones. The food is elevated but not pretentious and everything is fresh. Other places in Andersonville not the case. Vincent is clearly the best restaurant in the neighborhood. The cocktails are some of the best I tasted that are well balanced with fresh juices and the price point is the same as any restaurant in the area. The only problem is they taste so good, it seems pricing but then you realize you had four or five cocktails. The wine selection is fantastic and unique mostly European varieties from France, Spain, Italy and Austria/Germany. Their glass pours or bottles I can't find in the store because our server informed us that they only work directly with distributors who have direct relations to the small vineyards. I had oysters on the weekend but when I asked for them on a Wed. they didn't have any because they said they only fly them in fresh on weekends. The bread was incredible which they make in house. I also love the live entertainment on Friday nights and Sunday evenings which is free and some of Chicago's top cabaret performers, some who I have seen perform in Palm Springs, on Crystal Symphony Cruises and in New York. My favorite go to in Chicago for a neighborhood, fresh made food and cocktails at a reasonable price point with very personable staff.“

“Jefferson Park Grill has been here as long as I can remember. It's kind of difficult to find parking as it's right in the bus turn around @ Jefferson Park. If your lucky you may find parking on the Milwaukee Ave right alongside but it's metered & very limited number of spaces. I finally stopped by as there was 'A' metered spot on Milwaukee. Jefferson Park Grill has a fairly large choice of items but my heart & stomach had already decided on The hobo skillet. The Hobo Skillet has hash browns, onions, sausage, bacon, cheese & 2 eggs on top over east. Delicious cardiac city.“

“Came here for a family member's birthday. The menu was updated and the food was very tasty with large portions. The atmosphere is energetic and fun. I would recommend more low-carb options but otherwise this place is fire ?. I got a healthy dinner regardless that was very tasty.“

“The pie here is wonderful! We went on Pi day, knowing it was gonna be very full. I had pre-ordered and prepaid a traditional apple pie. It was one of the best apple pies I’ve ever eaten! I love it!The only reason this isn’t five stars is that, when I went, they wanted me to wait in the 20 minute line to pick up my pre-ordered and prepaid pie. This is just a simple management issue. It can be improved.But please do eat this pie!“

“Our server was very attentive. We always love coming here for lunch. One of the bus boys spilled a glass of water on me. He did not handle it great and barely apologized. The maitre d saw what happened and right away asked if we were ok and offered to comp our lunch, seeing how I was pretty drenched. It was super nice and exactly how I would have expected it handled. “First and foremost, the staff of any restaurant are the ones that truly keep an establishment running and thriving and are the heart and representation of the business.The hostess / order-taker and crew at Stacked and Folded, were super friendly to us and offered such great customer service!The atmosphere inside is very nice and offers an elevated casyal food experience.Even though the average taco is around $6.50, it is very large and offers a lot of the actual ingredients. This was the case with my short rib taco. The short rib taco did offer a little bit of that spicy hot but not too much which was good, and yes, was slightly sweet in the sauce as advertised. Overall, the flavor combination was very good and would rate it a 3.9 out of 5. It was just tender and juicy enough, but could even be a little bit more tender in the meat. I know it is not easy when it comes to short ribs and believe me they did a good job here! It is worth getting!We had also ordered the short rib sandwich, but I recommend to have the short rib in the taco form. It just taste even better with the corn tortillas!The sweet potato fries are a five out of five star! Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are cooked perfection, and have that right texture on the outside and perfect on the inside. Amazing.Now as a cook, my (James’) critique is focused on the shrimp taco. Like every other item, Katherine and I had, the shrimp taco is made in a very fresh and flavorful, non-greasy and healthy tasting manner.What observations and what can be worked on from the creators of the menu is the following:The shrimp in your shrimp tacos-at least when we visited—was just plain cooked shrimp and was actually dry. My advice based on the best shrimp tacos I have ever encountered or made are taking thawed raw shrimp, then marinate them of course, and grill them briefly and just right so that they come out juicy and tender and with that amazing flavor profile.That would make your shrimp tacos a five out of five.“

And the waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the notes in each wine. I'm a huge fan of beef wellington so I was a little disappointed at the portion size of the short rib wellington but it was tasty. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal!“

“Lucky Platter is a a true gem. Very tasty food, wonderful staff and a great owner. My favorite dishes at Lucky Plater are: Swedish crepes, tandoori salmon, pull pork tacos with a most amazing pineapple salsa and pumpkin soup.5 ⭐️ all the way!“

“Popped in for a quick bite with 3 others prior to seeing a play nearby. We were able to get in without a wait, at 6:15 on Saturday! Huge patio, but that was a 20 minute wait and we didn't have time/ I had the chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fries, I got the ranch fries, that were doused with a ranch powder, and were delicious on their own (even for my boyfriend who doesn't like ranch, though he did say they were a bit salty). I dipped mine in the buffalo sauce (and also put some of that sauce on my wrap for an extra kick!) my friends like taking their kids to play the free arcade games like Pac-Man. Tasty and fun!“

It is close to and therefore is popular with Northwestern students but it has a diverse mixture of students and locals with easy access to parking and CTA/L purple line station at Noyes. The wait is no long and the service is no-nonsense. Dave's Italian kitchen and D&D are also in the same area if you're looking for Pizza or a good breakfast sandwich - both are solid. “We were celebrating a birthday of a relative, and the food and service were great. However, there are two rooms where we were in one of them, and the sound of music and laughing and stuff carries from one room to another, interfering with speakers and conversations. Also, to get to a bathroom we had to walk through a room where other people had their own party, essentially violating their privacy. Still a good choice with reasonable prices.“

“This catering outfit does a fabulous job. I recently worked with them for a wedding shower I threw at my home. They were terrific in every way-responsive, helpful with menu ideas and amounts, and all of the food was delicious. They dropped off the food the morning of the shower and returned to retrieve their baskets the following week. I would use them again without hesitation.“
