The sauce was sweet, but not overly. The amount of cheese was perfect, not too much, not too little, and was not greasy. I'm pretty picky about pizza crust, but this was possibly my favorite crust of any pizza I've ever had, not doughy and not too hard. All aspects of the pizza compliment each other and blend together very well. Aside from the pizza, Nick was a great guy and pleasure to give my business to. The price is also unbeatable, 9$ for a large pizza. Places like this are what make Rockford great and seeing as Gulotta's is the first place I tried for this experiment, the rest of the pizza places in Rockford will be up against some stiff competition.“
“Nothing bad to say about this place. Didn't have the pizza yet but will be stopping back for it. We had the Italian beef because of what we had heard of them, and a meatball sandwich. The Italian beef was amazing, came out a crusty sub roll and looked simple, not like a roll stuffed with meat and soaked in au jus, but took that first bite without even dipping in the juice and wow the flavor was amazing. Add in the densely flavored au jus and it just got better. The meatball sandwich was also really good, the marinara to dip was great. My wife said the meatballs reminded her of SpaghettiOs's and Meatballs, meatballs but in a really good way she said. I just thought they were really good in general.There was just the owner working when we were there and she was nothing but friendly, and had great customer service. Will definitely be back to try the pizza.“

I ordered a Medium and was pleasantly surprised, it seemed pretty large for a medium pizza.The crust was a bit tough for my liking, but the crunch and toastiness of it was satisfying. The sauce was standard for a pizza, I feel like if it was a bit sweeter I would have been impressed. Where Opsahl's pizza really shines is the cheese. The cheese was near perfect, it had a bit more cheese than other pizzas I've tried and it was truly delicious. The herbs also really added to the flavor.Overall Opsahl's is a solid pizza and for a good price as well, coming in at only 12$ for a Large. Definitely a place I would come again.“

“What a hidden gem. My sister took me there after a very long road trip. She and her hubby took me there for pizza. We got there expecting pizza and got the most amazing fish fry instead. Being from Wisconsin home of the Friday night fish fry this rated among the top. More food then I can eat. The fish fry came with a great salad and of all things a dish of pasta. Wow the pasta was unusual. Perfect! The staff was very friendly treating everyone like a neighbor instead of a customer. The beer cold and the fish fresh out of the fryer none better. “The food was good, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was I asked for the bacon on my burger to be extra extra crispy, it wasn't. Our server said she understood and that was how she liked her bacon too. The bacon was very floppy and pulled like bubblegum when I took a bite. I took it off my burger and set it on the side of my plate. Our server saw that, I saw her glance at it, but didn't acknowledge it. I wasn't going to throw a tantrum, but was disappointed in her lack of acknowlement.“

We asked for a very thin crust and while it was thin it wasn’t more so than any other thin crust. The sauce lacked flavor. It was at best bland. We asked for extra sausage & cheese. If what they gave us was extra I’d hate to see what regular cheese & sausage consisted of. The bigger letdown was the “Fresh Calamari.” This wasn’t fresh! It was straight from the freezer bag to the deep fryer. Breading was very institutional from a place like Gordon Food Service. The person that took my order over the phone and got my food for me was very nice. You get one chance to make a first impression. Gerry’s food fell far short.“

Reviews were excellent and decided to go yesterday and was so happy we made the decision to try this pizza. The sausage pizza was absolutely delicious!!!!!! “I've lived in Rockford for a little less than a year. I love Italian combinations and have tried them at quite a few places. I have to say, the one I got today at Luichi's is by far the best I've had yet. The beef meat was a little too rough, not too bad. But, it was really big, inexpensive and had great flavor. You even soaked the bread like I asked. I highly recommend this place. Thank you. I now have a go to place for my Italian beefs/ combinations. I haven't had a good one like this since I left Chicago in 2004.“
“Okay, the vibe is that of a bar with slot machines and darts, and most of the food is typical bar fare. BUT. There are a couple Indian food choices on the menu; carryovers from when the owner was trying to fuse Indian food with a tavern atmosphere. That's what I ate, and let me tell you, the Indian food the owner made for me was well worth the trip. It was phenomenal. The owner was also great to talk to; I came at a weird time and the place was mostly empty, so we had a nice long conversation while I ate at the bar. He owns a full Indian restaurant out in the suburbs, which I fully intend to go to the next time I'm in town.If the food I ate was any indication, I'm sure the more "traditional" bar fare is delicious, too, but I just need it to be known that this place unexpectedly delighted me!“

“I've been driving past this place since they opened, but only recently had a chance to eat there when a friend and I stopped in to try it. My friend had pizza and I had an Italian beef sandwich. Our server were very friendly. The Italian beef was delicious, and I had enough left over to take with me. My friend was equally pleased with the pizza. Yesterday, I decided I didn't feel the cooking after I got off work, so I pulled up the online menu and put an order in. The online process was easy to navigate, and my order was ready by the time I arrived to pick it up at the convenient drive thru. The gal who waited on me was super friendly. I ordered the "baby" pizza - 6 slices, and the toppings were very generous; cheesy garlic bread with a side of sauce (which was in a closed container and wŕapped in cellophane just to be safe against spilling) and a canoli. Everything was excellent. I will definitely be ordering again when I am too lazy to cook!“

The room was ready to go when we arrived for set up and Gino was very attentive through the duration of the party by checking on us, ensuring we had enough food and drinks, clearing plates, etc. If you are looking to host an event, we highly recommend doing it at Sam’s. Overall, great experience and the guests all agreed!“
