“Nothing bad to say about this place. Didn't have the pizza yet but will be stopping back for it. We had the Italian beef because of what we had heard of them, and a meatball sandwich. The Italian beef was amazing, came out a crusty sub roll and looked simple, not like a roll stuffed with meat and soaked in au jus, but took that first bite without even dipping in the juice and wow the flavor was amazing. Add in the densely flavored au jus and it just got better. The meatball sandwich was also really good, the marinara to dip was great. My wife said the meatballs reminded her of SpaghettiOs's and Meatballs, meatballs but in a really good way she said. I just thought they were really good in general.There was just the owner working when we were there and she was nothing but friendly, and had great customer service. Will definitely be back to try the pizza.“

The atmosphere is fantastic unlike anything you would see in CT. Top tier service from the friendliest counter person in charge of taking your order. My first night I had to try the double buddy burger, waffle fries along with the highly reviewed fried mushrooms. I went to take a small bite from each and was truly amazed with the quality of the food! I couldn’t resist so I decided to go back again the following day to try a Philly cheese steak with waffle fries…. Again, consistency is key when finding a new place to eat. “I’m new to Rockford and where I’m from (Chicago area), there are tons of great food options. I say this because I consider myself to be a foodie (and a picky eater). Anyway, I ordered a burger and waffle fries from here and it was DELISH. It was so good that I contemplated going the next day. I’m going to save myself the obsession and wait two days to go instead. I don’t want to look too needy. Anyway, the burger meat was really good, toppings were on point, and the bun was soft but not too “bready”. Waffle fries typically seem to come bland but not the ones here. Seasoned well and they come with a sauce of your choice. I will definitely be coming back. Very good stuff!“
“**Update** they replaced the salad bar with a grab and go wall of knickknacks and prepackaged food. The salad choices now are pre packaged, un-customizable messes. They now have a soda fountain in the lobby, so of course every kid wants to fill thier own creating a massive pile of people all fighting to get a refill. The salt and pepper shakers are gone as well.New onion ring are awesome! The rodeo burger is good but the bbq sauce tases like cocktail sauce mixed with ketchup.Good food with a friendly staff in a clean environment. Definitely will be returning and I highly recommend the Big Beef with mozzarella! Pickle spears on the side were crunchy and delicious. “Yesss buttt we have been here numerous times but last night was a bad experience. Started with us needing seating for 7 people and dining room was half full and was told there is no room so we elected to sit 7 people at 6 top table in bar. Before the rest of party showed up (which was 4 people) the dining room cleared out yet we were told we couldn’t sit there because they were short servers. One entree had a long hair in it and we were offered either a remake or discount. Opted for discount because no guarantee on the entree, discount was 50% not sure if that’s the norm or not. My entree was the cheese and pesto ravioli which only had 5 ravioli for nearly $17. We were there to celebrate a good friends bday with her kids and spouses who have never been there, unfortunately I don’t think I sold them on your place. Waitress was nice and timely but other experiences last night have left a bitter taste.“

I'm sure that's a niche choice and Doc Culver himself probably ran the numbers to decide against further options, but I'm just reporting what I'm seeing. “I've lived in Rockford for a little less than a year. I love Italian combinations and have tried them at quite a few places. I have to say, the one I got today at Luichi's is by far the best I've had yet. The beef meat was a little too rough, not too bad. But, it was really big, inexpensive and had great flavor. You even soaked the bread like I asked. I highly recommend this place. Thank you. I now have a go to place for my Italian beefs/ combinations. I haven't had a good one like this since I left Chicago in 2004.“

“I was very pleased with the service today. I had ordered a large Carmel iced coffee and asked it to be made a little sweeter since the one the day before had such a strong coffee taste. When I got it was absolutely perfect. The fries were lukewarm but still had a great taste and my Big Mac was very saucy, messy to eat, but very tasty. Also, the girl taking my order was very helpful with the questions that I asked while ordering. The only thing lacking was the large fry was on the skimpy side as the container was not even full.“
