“Each table seats 4. We dined in. They have take out as well. We were greeted right away by a friendly wait staff who helped us with some recommendations along with taking our order. everything we ordered was great I had the black garlic pork on the first page of the menu, one of the children had plain ramen with chicken broth and the other had a chicken ramen bowl. We all tried each others and we all agreed our own bowl was the best but they all were good. You can either make your own, à la carte and choose your ingredients or you can choose from pre-made with pictures which we did because it was our first time. we didn't have room for appetizers, but we will definitely be back to try them because they all look amazing. Everything was delicious and we had a fun time with lots of leftovers which they package up very cute and neat, they put the ramen noodles in a bowl and your broth separate so your noodles don't suck it all up by the time you eat it again.. saved it as a new favorite spot!! The kids were ecstatic and had an amazing time which is very hard to do with most restaurants. fun food for kids and great eats for adults. 10 out of 10 from the kids!“
“This place is absolutely perfect. I had another favorite sushi place in Naperville but then I tried this one and holy cow it’s amazing. I went here twice in one week! Sat at the bar the second time and was able to see them making sushi behind the counter - the coolest guys and the best experience. They don’t take reservations for two so plan ahead if you want to eat here as a couple. Oh and 100% recommend the ice plum wine! Can’t wait to get back here <3“

“We were actually headed somewhere else for dinner, but I happened to spot Yamada as we were driving nearby. I suggested we pull into the plaza to take a peek. It didn't look busy at all on a Friday night, so we popped in.Yamada is tucked away in a big strip mall, so there's plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant is quaint. They kept the design simple. Not a ton of seating, though. The service was very friendly. There was just one lady taking/serving orders, and we only saw one sushi chef. Thankfully it wasn't too busy, so our food came in very reasonable timing.We ordered onion soup, sashimi appetizer, Crazy Tuna roll, Coconut Island roll, and Bumble Bee roll.The onion soup was decent. It was served in a cute bowl, although with a plastic spoon, which took away from the aesthetics. I liked that it was a nice small bowl of soup and only cost something like $2.25, so it didn't fill us up too much before the main food arrived.The sashimi sampler included six pieces of fish: two salmon, two tuna, and two pieces of some white fish. Everything tasted great.All three rolls were very good. I was really excited about Coconut Island since I love coconut, and it was good, but the Bumble Bee roll exceed our expectations. The Crazy Tuna was unique because it was topped with seared seasoning, providing a nice smoky flavor.Pricing was very reasonable. Turned out to be a great place for date night.“

“So the husband and I decided to stop in to Shinto in Naperville on a random Wednesday afternoon for lunch. I was craving some hibachi and we've been here for dinner previously but decided to stop in for lunch. We were met by our wonderful host Tyler who was not only our host but is also the bartender or shall I say the alchemist. Tyler was warm, welcoming, super attentive and very informative. I noted I have a hard shellfish allergy and he immediately stopped and closed our table off as to have no other patrons come to sit with us to avoid any cross contamination which is a huge plus! *(This single-handedly killed all reservations that I had in regards to eating hibachi because I've had my fair share of EpiPen required visits by going to other hibachi restaurants but this one hands down gave me first class service just for that little tidbit but back to my review*). Tyler went over the menu options and thoroughly informed about the options for lunch and the difference, not just in regards to the portion size, but also what comes together versus separate options for lunch which was great! Our food was prepared effortlessly the show that we got tableside was amazing! The chef was talkative, jokeful and light we had a really great lunch! To accompany our lunch of course we wanted a drink and we asked Tyler for his recommendations. He gave us both vodka as well as tequila options and the husband and I decided to go with one of each. His detail description of how the spirits pair with the juices and other catalysts that makes these drinks unique was so intriguing within itself we couldn't wait for our drinks to arrive table side. Tyler went to the bar and brought out his magic wand and was back within 5 minutes with the best tasting drinks I've had in a very long time * including the ones I make myself*. So round two was upon us before we knew it... The husband decided to go with tequila with me for his second ...Tyler brought the husbands drink along with the 1st of two drinks were would get to try which he invented. I'm not sure exactly what was in it but I do know it was tequila base but it was sooo scrumptious! He said it was a shot but I can tell you without any denial that was an entire drink and it was simply amazing! While waiting on our to go order here comes Tyler back with a pink starburst inspired cocktail and again amazing. I inquired whether he went to school for alchemy like a scientist previously and he said no that he just enjoyed trying to pair different items together to bring back childhood nostalgic treats and savory and sweet options as well. When I tell you the husband and I left from Shinto full and tipsy it was a great afternoon! So Thursdays and Fridays and we have a new spot to go to not only for the tasty food, great conversation and lively ambience but also to see what else Tyler has concocted with his mad scientist alchemy train brain! What you see here is Philly Roll, Crunch Shrimp, Chicken Tempura, California Roll, Volcano, Godzilla, Niagara, Helios, Mango Dragon. We also had the scallops and goyza app. The dip that comes with the scallops is wonderful. We usually ask for another side of it to dip the rolls in. Party try 5+5 two apps and four drinks was $98 after tax and before tip.“

“I am honestly so confused by this place. We visit family in the area about once a year and I always look forward to the Pad See Ew here, they get the noodles so wonderfully crunchy, they are the best noodles I've ever had. The Pad Thai on the other hand is pretty disgusting... overcooked, mushy noodles, generic, bottled sauce, and hardly any veggies at all. I know that the owners are not Thai but how can they do one noodle dish so well and fail so hard at another??? Egg rolls are good.“

The martinis and crafted cocktails were as delicious as they were beautiful. Appetizers were delicious and the portion size was great- don't miss the brussel sprouts!
