“Stopped in for a meatless Friday and had the best lobster in all of Chicago! The perfectly toasted bun was LOADED with luscious chunks of lobster and a homemade sauce that put it over the top. Also tried the fish sandwich was absolutely perfect. Started with oysters on the half shell were so succulent and salty that those alone I will be back for. Met the coolest owner who made us a killer craft bourbon infused cocktail that started our lunch out just right. Definitely my new favorite spot!“
“The atmosphere was more casual & rustic than expected (basically a heated garden shed), and the menu is small, but the food was amazing. The brussel sprouts were delicious. The trout was very good, but could have used a heartier veggie pairing like potatoes. Their Bad Romance cocktail was one of my favorites. I probably wouldn't return for a while since the majority of their menu is red meat and cheese (which I don't eat) but perhaps when their menu is updated seasonally, if they have a different seafood option. The back patio looked nice for warmer weather. (Note it is quite a small venue with only 1 bathroom.)“
“This place is a total experience! The food is delicious, the decor is artsy and beautiful, and the owners are absolute gems. my family and I went for the first time yesterday and had the BEST time. we came for some quick pierogi but stayed for the ambiance, warm welcome, and fantastic conversation with the owners. This cafe is charming beyond belief and we will definitely be back. This is the perfect place to stop in with some friends or loved ones when you are out and about in the neighborhood. I guarantee you will want to come back again and again.“
“Super recomendado, comida es extraordinaria, deli - deli , servicio, ambiente, la tienda, postres. Todo, todo. Fuimos mi nieta y yo desde Mexico. Nos encanto.Si algun dia vuelvo a Chicago, Cafe Beograd es el primer lugar a donde voy a ir. Saludos desde Mexico.“
“Tonight, the Wife and I asked for a table of 4, saw multiple tables open. Host replied with "Looks like we're not going to have table free for the rest of the night." Our 2 friends walked in about 5 minutes after us for a table, Host proceeds to not automatically deny them and asks the servers. Servers apparently had a problem with having another table until another server came worked it out. Finally, Wife and I walk back in to join our friends and overhear 2 servers discussing with the host about not seating anyone after 9pm (they close at midnight btw) Great to know that you wanting to close early is more important than actually doing your jobs and making easy money (we only got drinks and 2 apps) Pathetic, will not come back. Sayonara!“
“Really nice family owned restaurant. The variety if food on the menu was great. The honey cake especially was amazing. The food portions were very generous and the price wasn't bad at all. The restaurant was beautiful decorated and the Martin's service was excellent!“
“Support your local mob front!Food was kinda mid and def was hoping to try some Serbian food but they didn't have any. This is definitely a Eastern european take on American food and it feels like gulag food - reminds me of my time I had a nightmare about being sent back to to reeducation camp. Lady was super nice tho and I wish her the best!“
“This is an immaculately clean restaurant in a small, intimate setting, that will transport you back to the Old World with all the beautful decorations brought over from Bosnia. I was served by two lovely older women, who immediately made me feel at home. I ordered the cheese "pita," which is a burek, and which came out piping hot. The Turkish coffee was as good as any I've had back home. Tip: Although Turkish coffee is served with no cream (that's the correct way to drink it), I did ask for a bit of milk on the side. Everything, including the background music, was perfect. Highly recommended. Please note that it's cash only.“
“Delicious food! If you've never tried Georgian food, you are in for a real treat. It is such a unique taste. You will not find this blend of spices anywhere else. You should also try the wine as Georgia is where the wine originated. The only thing to note is that all the dishes come out as they are prepared regardless of whether it's the main dish or appetizer.“
“I was brought back to my childhood favor food, delicious and amazing. And the taste was the same. Like it's name the garden, it is really a place where you are transported in memories through a good service and a great atmosphere. Words don't make justice to that place go see for yourself.“
“Easy to miss spot next to Jiffy Lube. I came in when I was changing my oil, and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small quiet place with excellent food. You can tell the owners really care about the quality of the food. I had the chicken wrap and fries and it was fresh and delicious!“
“I never know what to expect with fusion restaurants but this place does each culture proud. We split the massive vegetarian pho and still had leftovers! The pho had a perfectly balanced mix of bok choy, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots and mushrooms, but the icing on top was the perfectly fried tofu that became soft and savory as soon as I took a bite. My one and only minor critique is that the pho broth was a TINY bit salty The place is entirely family run, and it’s easy to see how much passion everyone has for the food; the Vietnamese chef and her Jugoslavian husband/general manager, as well as her sister, are all so kind and knowledgeable about the cuisine. Plus they have a pho card, which I’m sure will be used up quickly when I’m next back!“
“I drove in from out of town with my family of 8 and asked if they could take any walk-ins and they said no. My 2 and 3 year olds were screaming there heads off and they weren't very helpful. I asked if they at least had a kids menu with chicken nuggets and fries and they didn't even have that. They're also a little expensive. I think they charge about $300 a person, but I think the Olive Garden is usually like $15 a person (plus they have unlimited breadsticks). It's probably good food but not for a big family, walk-ins, or the $15 price range.“
“It was our first experience with Mon Ami Gabi and let me just say everything was delightful! Elizabeth greeted us with a warm welcome and offered us drinks. She took the extra step to spilt the salad for two without us asking and it was much appreciated. Throughout the dinner she checked up on us right at the perfect time and was so composed. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. No doubt that we will be back and asking for Elizabeth. Thank you!!“
“Great food and service. We were looking for authentic Polish food and were not disappointed. The server was very attentive and came by often to see how we were doing. We had the goulash and the Pierogi's and both were excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.“
“Every time me and my cousin pass by Sandy’s we also order the burgers there, they also provide friendly service and thats what makes Sandy’s bakery even better. My favorite part of it is its food mainly because its so good being one of the only Serbian bakery’s near me too.“
“Went there with a group of friends last night. The place was so cute & cozy. While there are a lot of entrees to choose from we just ordered a bunch of appetizers & cocktails. Food was delicious & service was excellent. Great for a date night, girls night or just hanging with friends. It also has a very nice bar to just stop in for a cocktail. Check it out!“
“The experience at Zhivago was truly exceptional! The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend Zhivago to anyone looking for a fantastic event – it's definitely worth a visit!“
