“Good morning, FB friends. I had to just share this with you all. I had the pleasure of dining at Jo's Place in Virden with my son's after a phenomenal weekend. The restaurant, now under new management and ownership, offered exceptional food. The steak I had was one of the best, and the atmosphere was magnificent. Our waitress was polite and courteous, and we had the opportunity to meet the new owner, who is a wonderful person. It's a great place to enjoy a great meal at a great price.”

“Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and understanding and peaceful only down side is the servers and service people were gross saying they pee on the food and being very rude to customers and they do it behind the managers back and they give u nasty looks.”

“My husband and I found this place on a whim and now we go out of our way to go! We're just over an hour away. I have celiac disease which really limits where I can eat, safely. They go out of their way for me everytime, and I've never had an issue. The floats are delicious and the food is great, too! They're always doing something fun in there, which makes for a really good time!”

“Stopped in on a whim passing through central IL on a Sunday, greeted by friendly bartender and patrons, bartender updated us promptly on current beer offerings. Owner talked to us about the beers and let us sample a newly tapped IPA, and all the beers were great! Loved the Utter butter cream ale & Apple Jax lager. The slaughterhouse theme was executed nicely. ;) Food menu and specials looked awesome. Really cool and unique spot, totally worth the adventure to this small town brewery. Cheers!”

“Food is excellent!! I recommend the teriyaki Gangster Wings!! They are the best I've ever had!! They are boneless and big pieces of chicken with a special breading that is homemade and nothing like I've ever had before!! The Capone burger and Alley fries are great also. Tish (owner) is awesome along with her food!!”

“We have been going to Mick and Mary’s for 50 years. The food is delicious the best fried chicken, homemade french fries, excellent salad dressing and delicious spaghetti. Those are my family’s favorite. My sister and brother live in Atlanta Georgia and have to come here every time they come home.”

The servers are the nicest people you'll ever encounter. Don't forget to order a pizza prepared to perfection on site. If you get cabin fever, no worries, they have an outdoor gathering area fit for a king, but will be a delightful oasis for you and your party. Whatever you do, don't end your time in Auburn without experiencing this gem of a watering hole. You might just decide to stay.”

“Nic Place to stop on a hot day for a cold beer. One of the cleanest bars I have seen in my travels. Even the restrooms. Fast service & the food is good. It can get noisy on weekends but if your looking for a quiet place to drink, come during the week”
