“After growing up within the Latino community, eating authentic Mexican dishes, and learning how to cook within that community, I'm pretty particular about the Mexican food establishments I give my hard-earned cash to, because I know what good Mexican food is and it is often not what you get...Cinco Hermanos gets my money happily! As such, I often have certain requests that may not be on a menu, but I know are doable, based on my knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Not only do they happily receive my request during my phone order, the request is always executed correctly and to my liking. My husband doesn't like certain things in his burrito, and when ordering from other places, those things were either in there, or replaced with other "fillers." He orders the same exact thing every time, so he has often been disappointed...and his requests are easy like no lettuce and no rice inside the burrito...no biggie, right? The first time we ordered the way my hubby likes his burrito, from Cinco Hermanos, not only did they get the order right, they added some extra meat in the burrito as the "filler." That's customer service and attention to detail right there!I love that their tacos ARE NOT GREASY!! We love tacos al pastor, but they are often bathing in grease, which is actually just laziness on the cook's part...I know, because I make them at home, often. I usually don't like to order carryout tacos as a result, because they arrive home soggy and greasy...NOT the experience I've had at Cinco Hermanos! The tortillas rarely have any extra grease on them and the meat is the same. Any tacos I've ever ordered from them arrive home intact, non-soggy, and as delicious as if they were just prepared in my own kitchen!I also really enjoy their green salsa...it tastes like homemade. You can tell that they used fresh ingredients and that it was made in smaller batches. It's hard to explain, but trust me when I say it is one of the best green salsas I've ever had, including some homemade authentic versions. It's a little warmer than most, so be prepared for that, but it is crave-able!If you're looking for a stellar caldo de res, this is the place! Not only did it taste like the thousands of caldo's I've enjoyed in Mexican kitchens over my lifetime, it was served the way you'd be served in said kitchen...plenty of meat and veggies in that delicious broth! My typical experience ordering caldo to-go, is a container with a lot of broth, one or two small pieces of meat, one small carrot, more cabbage than anything, and half a potato...not even enough meat to make a decent taco to eat with the broth. I ordered this one weekend I was sick, and let me tell you, it hit ALL the right spots! Rich broth with an abundance of meat and veggies...exactly the way it would be served in my home kitchen. I was floored when I opened the container and saw it, and then more pleasantly surprised when I tasted it...perfection! Just know that it's only available on weekends and totally worth the wait! Oh, and one of my requests, LOTS of limes, was absolutely fulfilled, happily. Hats off to this place for great customer service!I've not had one thing on the menu that has displeased me, nor has my husband. Not one.Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I have certain requests when I order carryout, not excessive by any means, just certain things we prefer, like only green salsa and no plastic utensils necessary. At other places we've ordered, 8 out of 10 times, there's a bunch of red salsa in the bag - along with the green - and a bunch of plastic forks that end up in our garbage can. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from Cinco Hermanos, the instructions are followed to a T, which tells me that they're good business people and not throwing their money in our garbage can. As a business person, I find that smart, admirable, and a likely indicator of how they run their business on every level. Here's a good "tell" if a Mexican restaurant “

“All the food is amazing but they have the BEST Al Pastor tacos!!! Elote is also amazing. Chorizo tacos have an amazing flavor as well. They have great salsa. I like the mild one and my boyfriend loves the orange sauce- he even got an 8 oz container to go. Service is extremely friendly, accommodating, and appreciative. The atmosphere is small and cute and they make you feel at home. They have specials on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday! We drive over 30 minutes to get here. I don't typically write reviews but this family owned business deserves all the love!!“

“This restaurant needs support from the community. Details are in the video attached. I was satisfied with my meal there, the tacos were very authentic and tasty. They just could've been a bit more spicy. Prices are reasonable too.#supportlocal #supportsmallbusinessownersRating 77/100“

“Great value! My taste buds love their food and their sauces! Take note, each location is different in taste/quality... this is a great one IMO. I can say I have found a better version of a few dishes else where. You can't go wrong with most everything on the menu regardless, even if not the best of the best.“

“I Stopped by on 02/19 , ordered a steak Torta, and was surprised by how the steak was in big pieces! usually , it was never like that. Just tough, thick, and very chewy. Im sorry but can you please go back to the small PCS of steak not giant ones.“

“How did I never hear about this place?!!!!! I work out at Planet Fitness in Kenosha and happened to just want breakfast that wasn’t McDonald’s and google maps took me here.Let me start by saying the parking is a little tricky but when your restaurant is on basically the busiest street in Kenosha it’s expected. I walked in and was immediately welcomed by the hostess/server, Mable. She could tell it was my first time walking into there and she was so kind and helpful and surprisingly energetic and friendly for it being in the morning.I got the cheese omelette and the full biscuits and gravy. I ordered too much but honestly for the low price I thought it would be small portions. See photos below- that is a ton of sausage gravy and I love that. For $15 I had enough to feed two people! What a great deal. And then I find out they also make Mexican food there in addition to awesome breakfast! This is gonna be my new favorite spot as I love Mexican food and I love breakfast! And the service is amazing. Mable knew her guests by name and she was able to tell me the story of how they’ve been in Kenosha for over 30 years? I’ve been in Kenosha for just about 25 years and I never seen or heard of this place. But I already told my mother about it and I’m gonna bring my kids here when they visit. Such a warm and welcoming environment. I’m really surprised they weren’t busier but it’s Tuesday- ooh by the way they have Tuesday Taco specials. I can’t say enough about the breakfast I’m currently enjoying and I can’t wait to try more of their food. At these prices I could definitely make this a weekly destination, maybe even twice a week? We’ll see.Anyone reading this give them a shot. It will totally be worth it. They’re a little tricky to get to, your best bet is to take Pershing to 41st Ave to avoid the 75th st and 39th Ave nightmare. But it’s totally worth the trip. This was definitely a happy accident that I found this place: great food, great service, and close to home! Perfect combo. I can’t say enough that everyone should try this place!“

“New to the area it’s been hard for me to find food as good as Chicago. Tried this spot over a year ago &’ I have not stopped thing about it since. The tacos were amazing!! The salsas were delicious & flavorful &’ the rice was cooked to perfection. Everything was great until it was time to pay. Upon walking up to the register I was greeted by roaches crawling all along the area on the register, near the tip jar &’ viewed some in the kitchen which I was able to see when I approached the woman to check out, kinda felt like the roaches were charging me for the food itself & the possible consumption of their dead homies. They were not intimidated at all & didn’t try to hide one bit. Didn’t complain, paid the bill, tipped &’ left. Got in the car thinking how those were the best tacos I’ve had possibly in my life & sad I would probably never return because the roaches. Drove past & I see they have expanded, might return if they exterminated.“
“Excellent old school neighborhood diner, bar stool chair setup. Family run business, I spoke with 2nd generation owner. She told me her Mom and Dad still run the kitchen, the same way they did back when they opened up the place 18 years ago. Frankly, every neighborhood could use a place like this. Fantastic flavors, and terrific value.“

“Tacos are great! Rice and beans are a little plain but still good. They have a separate register for Mexican street snacks like mangonadas and elotes. My mango wasn’t ripe but the elote was good.Vegetarian options: Using beans as a substitute is an option. I don’t think it would be a great option though.“

“This is a hidden Gem! located in a small strip mall complex. The food here is truly authentic and made to order. The owner was one of the original cooks for Tacos El Norte. The quality of the food is right up there witrh the finest of Mexican restaurants in Lake County. Staff is friendly and outgoing. Portions are large so bring an appetite. If you are looking for fast high quality affordable Mexican this is a place you will want to visit. In a few years you will be saying I remember when this was just a small little restaurant off Delaney Rd.“

“Fantastic taqueria type restaurant inside a gas station. You are able to order ahead by calling. I tried the gyro and steak taco. Gyro was ok (I think my mind was missing the yogurt sauce), but the steak was awesome. Surprisingly a WI establishment can make a Chicago Dog... Lol. It was good.“

“In town for my daughters graduation from Bootcamp! We came in late, long drive, the Airbnb we got had no air on all day so it was 98 in the house when we got in so we decided to go grab a quick bite. We was a little unsure at first but so glad we came here! My husband and I split a Cuban and my daughters girlfriend got a Turkey sub… both was extremely good… the shredded pork on the Cuban has an amazing Smokey flavor. They were extremely nice even though we did go in close to closing (we did take it to go) .. we were definitely impressed!“

“The only problem I had with this place was that my son ordered mozzarella sticks with marinara. They gave him mozzarella sticks with ketchup. When we asked for the marinara sauce, they didn't have any. They don't serve it, but it's on the menu.“

“El pollo rico is the place to go for tacos that have double tortilla and carne asada. Also the habanero sauce is so spicy but so tasty. Lastly the corn in the cup is such a great tasty treat after the spicy tacos. Only thing I wish was better was that the guys at the register don't smile. They look unhappy and tired all the time.“

“Such a cozy hidden gem in Waukegan. Wide variety in menu selection and the service is always friendly. I’ve ordered a few times already and I haven’t come across anything I don’t like. “5+++?'Qu's Place' is really an interesting place. You can play darts, you can watch the game on decent televisions, they have clean well maintained bathrooms, the lighting is not overbearing in the evening, although I would dim it down a little bit. The managers, Josh and Victoria French are very personable and attentive. Our waitress Tonya Williams was extremely well-mannered and polite, she had a full load of customers tonight and handled it well. She's a true professional. And last but certainly not least, Jessica Armstrong, ??she's the bartender! she's also a wizard with the Long Island Iced Teas, and they are not chintzy with the booze. They go down easy, they taste great, but hit you like a sledgehammer, LOL. Sit back and sava the flava?❗ The Qu's nachos were delicious! I'm a big fan of not overdoing the accoutrements, and unless you want them to, they won't. The flavor of their fries is on a par with any place in the area, bar none. Let's get to the burgers, a customer that ordered a burger told the waitress,Tanya, she hadn't had a burger that good since 1952! I've had burgers all over the area and in many other states, and this was one of the best burgers I've had in years! My wife had the fish sandwich which included their proprietary sauce, she loved it! Do yourself a favor, come on in and get your grub on, you won't be disappointed. Let's show them some support❗ and keep them around for a good LONG while. We have to support good folks? providing an excellent product for their customers. Many places don't even put forth the effort anymore.?????????️??“

“Excellent Mexican food. Everything tastes great and is fresh. The horchata is homemade and so are their chips and salsas. Makes for a delicious starter Everytime. Overall I love the environment and the food is so tasty. It's similar to my mom's home made cooking. And that's saying something, most Mexican Restaurants do not have that home cooked meal taste or quality. This one does. The enchiladas verdes are my favorite dish“

“The reviews made me doubt about whether to try the food or not, but honestly it was worth it. I had ordered flautas with chicken, tamales both red and green, they were clearly the BEST I've ever tried. The food I tried tasted like the ones I grew up with, the waiting and money was worth all the food & it was in fact the cheapest ever. ❤️ (I honestly don't get why they are saying that the tamales are dry and not at temperature at all when I literary burned myself ??)Kid-friendliness: The waitress was patient whenever the kids where doubing about what to order, he gave the food recommendations, the portions that were served were PERFECT for kids.“

“Being a Taco Bell super fan, I have been to quite a few Taco Bells in my time. This one however… is by far… the absolute best Taco Bell I’ve ever been to. At the very least it’s the best Taco Bell in Chicagoland. I mean that. The food is made with love here. You know what I mean. Orders are never messed up, the tacos are piled high neatly with ingredients, crunch wraps are stuffed, and the burritos are rolled neatly and tightly and grilled to perfection. It’s the kind of food you always hope for when you go to a Taco Bell but don’t often receive. Taco Bell employees are often pleasant and friendly and these employees are no exception. Except, I don’t think they’re fake smiles. I think they really mean them. Thanks, Lindenhurst Taco Bell. Keep it up.“

“Could not recommend this place enough. The atmosphere is so fun and the music kept both of my boys (2 & 4) dancing having fun the whole time we waited for our food! All the employees we encountered were very friendly. I had a strawberry basil margarita which was good but my husband had the Lola’s margarita which was just a plain margarita and we both agree the best margarita we’ve ever had. The chicken fajitas and steak tacos were outstanding! The owner was so nice and made sure our chips and salsa were always full and he surprised my boys with ice cream after we were done! Will definitely be back!“

It's nice to go to a place that consistently tastes the same every time you get it. They're not stingy on the meat and it tastes great. Can't beat them nothing better in a multiple cities in this area and we pretty much checked them all! Long as they continue what they're doing, I can't imagine they won't be very successful!!!
