It's an expensive but quality-laden fish shop! So don't be surprised when the lobster salad is $70/lb. Still, there are some decent prices. Perhaps unsurprisingly, you can find frozen tilapia with interesting flavors for about $5-9 each. The people who work there are helpful. I felt bad that they were spread thin, but they did an awesome job. The Jamaican man who worked at the fish counter was super helpful and tipped me off to deveined, peeled raw shrimp that I hadn't seen yet....read full review
I feel as though the Cubs just won another pennant. I have rediscovered Burhop's. Years ago, when Burhop's dispensed fresh seafood in stores in downtown Chicago, my wife and I made frequent trips to purchase saltwater and fresh water fish to bolster our new more fish/less meat diet. In those days, Burhop's was the only purveyor of fresh fish that we were aware of. Now they are everywhere. But Burhop's still is in business.
