“Wanted to love it more. Lots of rapport between staff and patrons so it’s clearly a real local regulars place. Tables are packed in tightly. Felt like I was in the space of the couple behind us especially when I stood up.Beef bourguignon was very pretty but underseasoned. No detectable red wine taste to the sauce or meat. Beet salad was declared “fine.” We started with the spring rolls which were good and the potstickers .. good except the sauce with ketchup and sweet chili notes was a bit overpowering. All the appetizers on the menu were Asian except focaccia and soup. Desserts were enjoyed. Cocktails were good.Funny to see menu highlights in google maps include tiramisu, scallops, and hangar steak, none of which were on offer during our visit.“

“First and foremost, the staff of any restaurant are the ones that truly keep an establishment running and thriving and are the heart and representation of the business.The hostess / order-taker and crew at Stacked and Folded, were super friendly to us and offered such great customer service!The atmosphere inside is very nice and offers an elevated casyal food experience.Even though the average taco is around $6.50, it is very large and offers a lot of the actual ingredients. This was the case with my short rib taco. The short rib taco did offer a little bit of that spicy hot but not too much which was good, and yes, was slightly sweet in the sauce as advertised. Overall, the flavor combination was very good and would rate it a 3.9 out of 5. It was just tender and juicy enough, but could even be a little bit more tender in the meat. I know it is not easy when it comes to short ribs and believe me they did a good job here! It is worth getting!We had also ordered the short rib sandwich, but I recommend to have the short rib in the taco form. It just taste even better with the corn tortillas!The sweet potato fries are a five out of five star! Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are cooked perfection, and have that right texture on the outside and perfect on the inside. Amazing.Now as a cook, my (James’) critique is focused on the shrimp taco. Like every other item, Katherine and I had, the shrimp taco is made in a very fresh and flavorful, non-greasy and healthy tasting manner.What observations and what can be worked on from the creators of the menu is the following:The shrimp in your shrimp tacos-at least when we visited—was just plain cooked shrimp and was actually dry. My advice based on the best shrimp tacos I have ever encountered or made are taking thawed raw shrimp, then marinate them of course, and grill them briefly and just right so that they come out juicy and tender and with that amazing flavor profile.That would make your shrimp tacos a five out of five.“

“What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said or known to be true. Little bad wolf has the best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. I don't know what they do but it's liquid crack in those noodles and I just can't get enough of it.The burgers there are also top five in Chicago. Definitely try the bao buns and the tacos as well as they have tons of flavor and they never disappoint. One of my favorite appetizers is the elotes which is absolutely amazing.I love this place I just wish it was closer to me and they took reservations but I'll keep coming back as long as they got the liquid cheddar crack.“

“Gather is CONSISTENTLY fantastic. I’ve been 5+ times over the last year or two and have never had a bad experience. Tonight, they were able to fit us in for a celebration dinner - they’re so accommodating and the menu options change seasonally, but every option has been consistently delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, warm, and inviting. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. They’ve been so accommodating of allergies and dietary restrictions. Will always recommend Gather.“

“Love to have this breakfast and bunch place at my neighborhood!Kid-friendliness: My son loves their pancakes, fish and chip and the welcoming cakes so much! They even made a watermelon juice out of the menu for him just because he asked for. Coloring, books and toys for their little customers too.“

“Very good brunch spot. Small and cozy but they do take reservations, so we were able to get in with a large group with minimal wait. The food, especially the Spanish omelet was spot on. The potatoes that came with the dishes was excellent.“

“Small restaurant with modern american decor. Street parking around the area. The staff were amazing and so nice, knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We did the tasting menu with the spirit free pairing. I thought the food portions were acceptable. The appetizers were great as were the desserts. The drinks were great too. Although there were multiple savory courses, my friends and I thought it was still lacking. Overall a great night still.“

“We've eaten there 3 or 4 times now, each time delicious food and very nice service. We were able to sit and chat without worrying about taking up table for too long. When offered a coffee refill we were leaving and I asked if I could have refill in a to-go cup, request received with a smile. Looking forward to our next visit!“

“Thanks to Open Table, we made our first visit to Scotty's and we're glad we did. We were greeted warmly and well cared for by Jay and others. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the Chicken Milanese, which will be even better once tomatoes are in season and my husband loved his Walleye and Mussels (a special) and his profiteroles.“

“While the food is excellent and locally sourced, the prices are high. It's an a la carte menu. They even charge for bread. Soups are $8, salads $15+ and they're not entree size. I suggest sharing entrees to save money and enjoy the food.“

“We had a really nice dinner here a couple days before Christmas. It has a really cozy neighborhood feel and the waiter was super nice. They have a daily happy hour which was awesome, we got mussels and cocktail shrimp for a really good price. It is very family friendly, they were very kind to our toddler. The best thing we ate there among many good things was the apple galette dessert, it was amazing.“

“Just celebrated my wife's birthday. Food was fantastic. Some people in our party don't eat meat. The chef made up a vegetarian soup they said was great. The chef made a birthday cake that was wonderful. Great experience. Will definitely go back.“

“Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“

“I was always resistant to trying bar food but my son loves going there with his friends so, I had to give it a try and to my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“I stayed at the Graduate in Evanston for a few days in July. I really liked the vintage style of the hotel building, and the friendly staff, but I was dismayed at how cold it was in the hotel because of the excessive air conditioning. I turned it off in our room as soon as we arrived and the temperature remained comfortable there during our whole stay. It seemed to me that the AC in the lobby, the restaurant, and the bar was actually set to a lower temperature than the heating would be in the winter. And there was a fire in the fireplace, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s outside and AC on! The Graduate Hotel management seems to be ignoring how important saving energy is right now, in light of global warming. Their blatant disregard for the environment sent a shiver down my spine in more than one way.“

“This is a rare find, it’s so delicious and warm atmosphere and fun. We’ve been coming for years, they are a bit off the beaten path of Andersonville, we discovered it when lived in Uptown. When we moved away we missed so every so often we travel up to an hour to eat there.“

“The food was delicious. I had the rack of ribs and they were great. The jalapeño cheese sauce was a really good dip for the fries. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. The service was great. Our server Colleen did an amazing job accommodating our needs in such a busy establishment. The atmosphere was fun. They had trivia night while we were there and you could tell it was a pretty big deal amongst the locals. The guy running the trivia was a star! His personality is great for it. This is definitely a place where the local people go which made it even better. We were even blessed with a Will Perdue citing. He is in one of the pics sitting with his family. It doesn’t get much more Chicago than that. Go Bulls! I would definitely come back to City’s Edge!“

“Both the food and the service were impeccable! I had an unusually delicious and easy to eat roast chicken breast, and the Brussels salad was fantastic as well. Our waiter was perfect. He has been there 10 years apparently! We didn't love the ambiance-- a bit too corporate, lacking personality. But we'll be back for the food!“

“Jefferson Park Grill has been here as long as I can remember. It's kind of difficult to find parking as it's right in the bus turn around @ Jefferson Park. If your lucky you may find parking on the Milwaukee Ave right alongside but it's metered & very limited number of spaces. I finally stopped by as there was 'A' metered spot on Milwaukee. Jefferson Park Grill has a fairly large choice of items but my heart & stomach had already decided on The hobo skillet. The Hobo Skillet has hash browns, onions, sausage, bacon, cheese & 2 eggs on top over east. Delicious cardiac city.“

“This is a cool spot in Highwood. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but everything was pretty good.I got the rueban sandwich because we were there on St Patrick's Day. It was ok. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better.The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good.The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners.The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.“

“My two friends and I had a lovely evening at Convito Cafe. All the staff with whom we interacted were very pleasant and professional, and the food was quite good. Almost best of all, they kept the music soft, and we were actually able to converse with each other without having to shout - something that is becoming increasingly difficult in many restaurants. “The pie here is wonderful! We went on Pi day, knowing it was gonna be very full. I had pre-ordered and prepaid a traditional apple pie. It was one of the best apple pies I’ve ever eaten! I love it!The only reason this isn’t five stars is that, when I went, they wanted me to wait in the 20 minute line to pick up my pre-ordered and prepaid pie. This is just a simple management issue. It can be improved.But please do eat this pie!“

“This is one of my husband’s and my favorite place! We were a big fan of Creperie St. Germaine so we are so happy that they haven’t completely changed the delicious menu and the interior is the same cozy place we love! And the crepes are to die for! This place is freaking AWESOME!!!“

“Our server was very attentive. We always love coming here for lunch. One of the bus boys spilled a glass of water on me. He did not handle it great and barely apologized. The maitre d saw what happened and right away asked if we were ok and offered to comp our lunch, seeing how I was pretty drenched. It was super nice and exactly how I would have expected it handled. She was great. I know accidents happen but it was just too bad the bus boy didn't seem apologetic. We will of course be returning!“

“We were celebrating a birthday of a relative, and the food and service were great. However, there are two rooms where we were in one of them, and the sound of music and laughing and stuff carries from one room to another, interfering with speakers and conversations. Also, to get to a bathroom we had to walk through a room where other people had their own party, essentially violating their privacy. Still a good choice with reasonable prices.“

“Hadn't been to the new location but PMU was a post event staple for us back at the old location back when we were young enough to go out. :-) Met a non-veg friend here for lunch. As I've been having pancake cravings, ordered the vegan pecan pancakes. Pretty sure I got 204 pancakes weighing in at 38lbs. Craving addressed, and pancakes were a little dense but i enjoyed very much. And was super full. Took some leftovers home as well. Bonus. Not too full to share an order of fried pickles with my friend. Fried pickles and pecan pancakes. Pretty sure I'm not pregnant, but miracles do happen? Was going to order coffee but noticed no free refills. Diner fail. I'd rather have unlimited "diner"'coffee with my pancakes than one cup o' good joe. But went americano. It was a solid B. Friend got some sort of eggplant sandwich. Looked messy but big and tasty. Not sure it it was veganizable but the menu is pretty good on that front.“

“This catering outfit does a fabulous job. I recently worked with them for a wedding shower I threw at my home. They were terrific in every way-responsive, helpful with menu ideas and amounts, and all of the food was delicious. They dropped off the food the morning of the shower and returned to retrieve their baskets the following week. I would use them again without hesitation.“
