Terrible experience. We were received with hostility, the workers were not nice at all. The table next to us came in after us but their order was taken 15 min before ours and by the time our food came they were paying the check. Rude old workers. Waited over an hour for mediocre food. Good thing was it was cheap and larger portions.

First time eating there and we were in the area so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean. I had a full order of biscuits and gravy with a lemonade. Son ordered a patty melt with fries and the spicy mozzarella sticks with an Arnold Palmer. (Waitress didn't know what it was but did a good job making it. ) Husband had the all meat omelet white toast, sausage links and Sweet tea. Will definitely go there again.

We had a great breakfast. I had Meme 2's Naptime and really enjoyed it. The gravy and eggs etc. were so good. I also had one pancake and it was very good too.

Had Sunday lunch at Eye Opener, and everything we ordered was DELICIOUS!! I had the BLT, and I don't think I've ever had one better than this! Great service, friendly staff, very good prices, and this place just can't be beat!!

We enjoyed The Eye Opener Cafe. Very friendly! Food portions are big. We took leftovers home. And VERY reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!!!

Charming strip mall diner. Friendly veteran staff, good prices , and food was cooked to order. I would skip the biscuits and gravy though.the biscuits were starchy, and the gravy lacked flavor. Which is surprising because the sausage patties were very good. Eggs were also good. Worth coming back.

This is a local family-style diner. Most of the diners here appeared to be regulars, as they greeted the server by name. This was my first visit here. The menu features basic, standard fare. You won't find avocado toast, huevos rancheros, eggs Benedict, or tofu but all the usual breakfast items are here: omelets, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy for breakfast and burgers, chicken, fish, tenderloin, fries and onion rings for lunch. The seating area was clean, and the booths were in good condition. The walls were decorated with signs and old fashioned décor. I ordered the Steph's Stacker, which was hash browns, green peppers, onions, cheese and topped with two eggs. You can have your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham too, but I ordered without the meat. I'm glad I did, too, because while the food was tasty it was fairly greasy. The hash browns and veggies were greasy but the eggs were very good and cooked over easy, as to order. The thick sourdough toast was very good. Servings are very large and prices are reasonable. It was when I finished eating and walked toward the "PAY HERE" sign that I really felt like I was on a trip back in time. There was a calculator sitting on top of a retail tax collection table inside a plastic cover, with a pencil and pad nearby. I had my credit card in hand but unobtrusively (I hope) slipped it into my pocket when I realized they probably accepted cash only. Fortunately I had cash today, as I often don't carry cash. I guess I threw a wrench into the works when I asked for a receipt. I'm working in the area and need to submit receipts for reimbursement. Apparently I'm the only person who has ever asked for a receipt because it seemed to annoy the server who was accepting my cash. She impatiently dug through a pile of tickets until she found mine, wrote the prices on it, and handed it to me. Yikes. Service had been very friendly and pleasant until I asked for a receipt. I am just very happy that I had cash on me or I might still be sitting in the corner.

Best tenderloin in town! Servings are huge, and the food is good. Prices are good!

Great food. Warm. Staff friendly. Great prices for the amount of food

Unpretentious and low prices. The wait for the food was a little long, but there was only one server, who was very attentive in spite of all the work she had to do. Tried the sausage omelet and gravy, which lived up to home cooking expectations.

I went to the Lafayette Eye Opener on a recommendation from a business in the same shopping center. Man, am I glad I did. They open earlier than a lot of other local restaurants and many of the larger chain restaurants as well. They close at 2 pm during the week, but are open until 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Come early on Sundays because this place packs 'em in quickly. This place is a gem in the community. They appeal to an older crowd and have comfortable seating, fun ambiance (one of the signs on the wall says "Coffee ... if you're not shaking, you need more") and a very family-focused vibe. Prices are reasonable and portions are great (If you ask for scrambled eggs, you're likely to get about 3-4 of them). Normally, family-style restaurant breakfasts are heavy on the potatoes, heavy on the grease and generally pretty sloppy meals. Not here. If you want a simple eggs, sausage and toast menu, you can find it here by default. Omelettes fill the plate. There are typical heavier menu items, like biscuits & gravy and the like, plus a few "gut busters", but the Eye Opener focuses a lot on basic fare that isn't too filling. That seems to sit well with the older crowd. When they have pork chops, it's more of a solid portion of the loin rather than traditional chops, so this is a great value. You have to ask if they have them available - they are not always available. The tenderloin sandwich is a great example of a crispy sandwich. If you can have them (my dietary restrictions severely limit potatoes), their french fries are crispy, not oily and very tasty. (Okay ... yah, I've been known to have a couple). Putting it simply - I go there almost every day. I can have a comfortably filling breakfast, a great lunch or a simple tasty dinner with awesome staff at pretty much any reasonable time I want.

I loved the Eye Opener when it was in Battle Ground. I recently tried the new location on Earl Ave. for lunch. It was just okay. The service was abysmally slow. Not "please be patient, we're short staffed" slow but "we're gonna walk by your table multiple times and ignore you and pull out a chair to chat with some regulars for 10 mins while you wait to put in a drink order" slow. I usually order Steph's Stacker and should have this time. Instead, I went for the breaded tenderloin and it was pounded out comically thin. Flavorless and stringy. My friend enjoyed his omelette. I'll give it another try, but I should go back to breakfast.

This diner has only been here for a year. They moved from battle ground where they served food for 10 years. It's hard to see if your driving by but it is worth the stop. The staff is friendly, the portions are large, and food is delicious. It definitely scratched my diner itch!

Food was very good. Service was slow this visit, cook was overwhelmed. Usually food comes out quick and hot. Will definitely go back. Very friendly.
