“This place has been around for nearly 50 years, so I just had to see it! If you're claustrophobic, it might be too difficult for you to visit, but if you love looking at lots of interesting things, this is the place for you! I am a gnome collector, and I found one to add to my collection. There are hundreds! The best part was the food. We weren't in a hurry, so we had time to sit for a while and wait for service. What a surprise! Best food I've had in a long time! And don't forget the cake. Not too sweet, and absolutely delicious! Ask about the cash register. It's an antique twice over. “RUN DON'T WALK! This croissant is the perfect midday snack or on-the-go breakfast! I wish I remembered the name but it is a pillowy soft croissant with a flaky crust, topped with Swiss cheese, everything bagel seasoning and parsley - perfect item for a vegetarian or cheese-lover! Just absolutely gorgeous and mouth watering. This item was so flavorful with the salty Swiss cheese and who doesn't love everything bagel seasoning. I was too excited to try it right after purchasing but I bet it would be a base for an egg sammie. This might be my new weekly go-to treat! A must try!! Amelia's has lots of great other options too from buttermilk biscuits to sweet pastries to fresh baked breads to take home to daily sandwich specials. Staff is always so kind when I visit and helpful in answering questions for someone like me who is indecisive! Amelia's also doubles as a great study spot and pit stop for some unique grocery items!“

“We bought three pies only to later read the ingredients and find lard being used. The wonderful lady we called informed us it was pork lard and that since we couldn’t eat it due to dietary reasons she would refund us the money for the two pies with lard.Customer service was excellent and I’ll be coming back soon to get the Passionfruit Pie. It was hands down one of the most delicious pies I have ever had in my life!“

“Finally made it to The Cheesecake Lady’s storefront yesterday (3/30) after rescheduling my drive for a couple weeks. To say that I was excited and satisfied is an understatement! Everything blew my expectations out of the water! I live about an hour away and nowhere near any of the wholesale locations but I may just start making the drive at least once a week to get my fix! “Coat Check Coffee I happened to stumble upon on a quick Yelp search and I'm so glad I did. I was in Indianapolis for less than 24 hours and I went twice! Staff was super friendly, it's a super chill vibe inside. I highly recommend the matcha latte and the cold brew. The cold brew was super strong kept me going all day for my event! Whenever I'm back in Indy I'll stop by again.“

They use a house made vanilla ; it has the best flavor and is gently sweet without artificial aftertaste. the lavender is fresh ground herb and brought me such a calm feeling. They offered to warm the danish and I was so happy they did - the raspberry was super tasty and complimented the flakey danish croissant perfectly ! “A big thank you to A Piece of Cake for the beautiful “watermelon” themed cake. The cake was for a 1-year old birthday party and the theme was “One in a Melon.” The cake created look better than the picture we provided. Not only did it look beautiful but it tasted delicious. The bakery provided prompt and efficient communications to order the cake and confirm. The cake was also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend A Piece if Cake.“

“Stopped in very early on our way through Indy. The barista was super knowledgeable about coffees and carefully hand crafted our drinks. The vibe was a little dark, industrial, but it worked. It's a place for coffee purists so if you want flavors and syrups, go to Starbucks. Not much in the food category, at least early in the day, but that's okay if you just need your morning fix!“

“Their pastries are delicious! Always made fresh daily. Huge variety of pastries and cookies!These took a hit during transportation home. But it doesn't change the flavor. The Bavarian creme pastry has smooth and creamy flavor while not being overly sweet. These donuts are huge compared to name brand donut places. The churros are filled with a raspberry jam (or what I believe is jam). Slightly tart but that what I want in a raspberry jam. The Danish has a glaze that gives the pastry a sweetness to satisfy any sweet tooth. And the cannoli has a sweet cream filling with each end being dipped chopped pecans topped with chocolate sauce. The cannoli itself is crisp. Great contrast of texture. Prices are very reasonable. They also sell cakes, which I look forward to trying someday.“

“What a tremendous value eating here for lunch is here as part of Ivy Tech's Culinary Training Program. For $20 per person, you get a 3-course meal of appetizer, entree and dessert. There are several choices for the first two courses and usually one or two items for dessert. Beer is as inexpensive as $2 and glasses of wine for $8 per glass or $15 for a bottle. Students are learning to run a restaurant from all aspects including the hostess station, servers, manager and cooks. Tables are set with white table clothes with nice plates and silverware. It's a very nice venue which decades ago was a Marriott Hotel restaurant. It's on the top penthouse floor with great views of the city from 3 sides. Very enjoyable.“

“Back in the 1980s, I began working in a catering business. The best wedding cakes were always made by Hart Bakery. When my husband and I decided to get married, I fretted about finding a delicious cake, because the trend is to be pretty rather than tasty. I'm a Blue Ribbon baker with desserts that have been featured in Oprah (and my husband has won baking awards, too), but I didn't think we should take on wedding cake with everything else going on. While searching, I came across Hart Bakery on Yelp Indy. Immediately, I contacted them to find out that Sandy is still baking! We tasted from several different trendy bakeries...And my teenage stepsons, elderly father in law, and my husband all agreed that no cake came even close in quality for flavor and texture. We loved our wedding cakes of chocolate and white with buttercream! Several guests asked me where we found such an unusually yummy cake. And they are a steal! Less than half the price of the most popular cake places in Indy. Make sure to call them, because they don't get the messages through their website. Also, they are cash only. “I feel i have been doing this place an injustice; I've been going for months and have not shared one of the Far East sides best kept secret! This bakery is scrumptious and very reasonably priced! My all time favorite items are the tres leches, at least it's what it reminds me of and this breaks stuffed with cream cheese and jalepeno . I like to take they loaf home and warm it in the oven for a little bit so it's nice and warm and gooey like I said I've been going for awhile, lol.My daughters enjoy the cookies, churros, and donuts greatly. “My friends and I had the pleasure of meeting at Gallery Pastry Shop for a lovely brunch outing. The service was great, and I loved the aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Our waitresses did a fantastic job of checking in with us. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and the dish was delightful. The serving size was plentiful enough for one to enjoy and take home for later. The shrimp was drenched in a lemon mint butter, leaving you craving more. I will note that there were a few items on the menu unavailable, but that did not stop the overall experience. “My partner and I ate here for breakfast today. It was pretty busy when they opened, but they took orders quickly and got our order out just as fast. There is a patio and indoor seating. Inside is really bright with lots of natural light. My partner had their iced coffee and loved it. We both tried the yeast donuts. They were dense and delicious, perfectly glazed in my opinion. My partner had the bacon breakfast sandwich on brioche and wouldn't shut up about how much she likes it. I had the breakfast burrito with lemon crema. i was blown away how good it was.
