“Just getting back from our nashville trip, tired not wanting to cook, we scrolled through food on Google and stumbled on Lonestar! Let me tell yall! First, these guys know how to make cornbread! And It ain't cracker barrel bread! Second, we did order a tad late, so they were sold out of brisket and ribs (the 2 I was wanting lol), the lady on the phone was nice and when we picked the order up, they apologized but also told us to order sooner, lesson learned yall because if the chicken and pork is this dang good those ribs are probably fall of the bone and out of your chair, slap your grandma good! So I ended up getting the 2 meat combo and hubby got the Texas torpedo. My God! ❤️ BEST $36 spent in a while, including Nashville food!! Enough food for left over lunch tomorrow:) we are die hard support you local small business believers, and I'll tell ya what! This is one that will continue to have out business! (I didn't rate the atmosphere due to not dining in, but hubby said everyone was super nice when he picked up our food). Next time we will sit in! If yall want some actual real food, you can taste and smell the smoke, friendly, fast and well worth every penny??? GO EAT HERE AND SUPORRT THIS PLACE! We all know here in evansville, not a lot of places make it real far! Let's give these guys our business! Thank yall for good food and good service! We will be back! :)“

Mac Daddy's Barbecue & Comfort Food Barbecue • $
1400 W Maryland St, Evansville

“I remember an experience I had once while in a deep woods. The memory is faint now, but the fear I experienced that night will never go away. I recall being on the edge of death. Bound to the trunk of a great elm, though I could see no rope or other physical restraints. Footsteps. Before me stood a creature too terrify to imagine. It stood on two legs. While its figure was human, it lacked a head. Rather its face was formed across its upper torso. It smile deviantly at me. It stood there for what seemed an eternity. It swung its arms front and back, offering a dull clap with each forward motion. Finally it approached. I winced. It took its hand, buried it into my jean pocket, and it took out a single, bare spare rib. It was from Marx Barbecue. I woke up the next morning at the Esquire Inn on Fares. My lady friend had something sizzling in the hot plate-- ham, from Marx Barbecue. I've never told anyone this story before. This is barbecue in the true Western Kentucky tradition. The original sauce is delicious. It's impacted by a lot of umami from the tomatoes . It's savory and bold. Not sweet. The pulled pork is great country barbecue. Prices are reasonable.“

Miller's Catering Barbecue Weddings Caterers • $$
10108 Schaeffer Rd, Evansville

“Miller's has the best BBQ in town. Not only are their regular entree items such as pulled pork, brisket, smoked kielbasa, and smoked chicken some of the best BBQ meats one can find...they also have the best sides. So many BBQ places in town do well with their BBQ/smoked meats but lack quality with their sides. Miller's put extreme care into both their meats and sides. Miller's Mac is a must-have every time. No one comes close to matching it. They also have their own sauce and sell it right off their BBQ trailer. If a customer is feeding more than one person, small family packs are the way to go. The crew members are always nice and accommodating, too. Overall, their food is highly recommended. 5/5“

“Great food. Came hot and quickly. Hostess was amazing and checked on us additionally then just seating us. Our server was a little standoffish. Didn't ask basic questions like I heard her asking other tables so husbands food didn't come out how he wanted it. Mostly got fixed. Another server was amazing and had a conversation with our daughter about her Bluey shirt. Overall a great place to eat. Just felt like since we were younger we weren't cared about as much“

“This place is amazing , dragon ball z and k-pop on the tv’s. Very neat interior design. Pros: some unique dishes, serves soju , the owner is nice and interactive with guess a major plus. They have aluminum chop sticks very excellent. Great place to hang out. As to the sushi, since this is a Korean place I won’t be as hard. The sushi is tasty, presentation is great. May one complaint is the use of pollock fish (aka imitation crab) it is used in a lot of there rolls and this is a turn off to diehards. My recommendation is to incorporate more raw fish or drop the price of all your rolls by $2. But beyond that I definitely recommend giving this place a visit. I intended to return here again in a few months :) it was an enjoyable adventure!! Also note the Korean food here is excellent.“

“We enjoyed a birthday celebration for a party of 12, staff was very friendly and accommodating from the hostesses upon our arrival, to our amazing server Rosa, and the manager, Jonathan, who visited our table. Rosa was quick and efficient, got our drinks out quickly and kept them full. She took our orders quickly, too. Our food was excellent, and brought to our table hot. It was a great experience, especially for a large party during the busiest time of day! Thank you!“

“Hickory Pit Stop is one of my favorite spots in town for BBQ. And it's the only place in Evansville that you can get mutton! The restaurant is always clean and even though it's very casual and laid back it's a great place for a business meeting or to get together with friends for a beer. Their ribs, chicken, pulled pork etc is always excellent - the trophies on the walls attest to that. Don't miss their burgoo either. They are in the 4th generation of the Ellison family running the business (currently Cameron), and have been serving some of the greatest BBQ in the Tri-State area since 1957. They use real hickory wood in their smokers and BBQ on what is probably the only original brick pit left in operation in Southern Indiana. Highly recommended!“
