“Happened upon this restaurant during my drive. Pictured is THE MESS. It's scrambled eggs, potato, onion, green pepper, wheat toast and sausage gravy covering it. Now, I'm a corn fed girl and this dish was huge. Now I have enough for breakfast tomorrow. Very attentive waitress. I'll be bringing family next time.“
“Good local food. A local icon when you are camping at the state parks make sure and visit J's for ice cream or dinner. There is outdoor seating if you have your furry friends with you as well. Be prepared to wait and it is recommended to call in your order if you want chicken, before you go to the restaurant. But over all we'll worth the time to visit.“
“We went here for a date night for the first time in a long time. It is opened only seasonally so it was the end of season by going in October. Our waitress was great and food was good. Portions were large. We both got steaks but the husband said his was under seasoned but cooked right. My steak was seasoned great but it was more medium well than my requested.“
“I took my 18-month-old grandson here and we sat for 35 minutes until we got asked what we wanted to drink. I was very patient because they were super busy however three or four tables had their food by the time we got our drinks and we got there before they did. Food was great ..waitress was apologetic...and they were super busy. Give the servers a break...I wanted to walk out but I really wanted mashed potatoes for my grandson and I'd have to drive to Oxford or Richmond to get those with a meal.We eat there often and this isn't the norm....I was glad we didn't get chicken....they were way behind on that...so it must be delicious!“
“This diner is exactly what we were looking for when we wanted breakfast Monday morning. My daughter got the peanut butter french toast and "sick to your ribs" is an understatement. I got eggs over medium (cooked perfect) and we both agreed the hash browns were some of the best we've had anywhere. Plenty of hot coffee. Great service and reasonable prices. (Especially for the portions neither of us could finish in one sitting) . If you're seeing this, stop scrolling and just get in the car already.“
“Loved it!We had the sampler appetizer which consisted of 4 wings, fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms and fried pickles. We arte it all and wanted more. Great stuff.I had the pulled pork sandwich dressed with slaw for my entree. Great smoky flavor and the slaw was a perfect match.My wife had the smoked chicken salad wrap. She said the smoky flavor was perfect.The staff was awesome and the weather was perfect to sit outside. There were only a few others there because we went mid day, so we had the back porch all to ourselves with the occasional hummingbird dropping by to visit the feedersJust a great time. We will be back for sure.“
