“It was my first time here. It was about a 5-minute wait to get seated.I had water and menus in a few minutes and within 10 minutes of arriving my order was taken. The establishment was full and had multiple tables of seven or more people.I would say it was only about 15 minutes from the time I got my order into the time I got my food. The wait staff was excellent and so was the food.Highly recommend this place.Dietary restrictions: There are multiple choices on the menu for people who have restrictionsParking: Multiple spots Big parking lotKid-friendliness: There are lots of kids having breakfast and it was family friendlyWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp out of the parking lot that goes right to the front door.“
“There was a wide variety of options for everyone's taste. We came across this place right before the dinner rush. It's very close to the lighthouse outlets. Our drinks were nothing extraordinary, but the food was full of flavor. Our server Brittany was great, even when there was a little mix-up in the kitchen with our meal.“
“I like the building, decorations are pretty, it has plenty space and seating. I really enjoyed my experience. I got the spicy chick& I added cheese to it. I love spicy food so I also added jalapeños to my sandwich & I also got an order of cheese fries.I absolutely love the cheese and jalapeños combination.I ended up pouring some of that cheese from the fries on my sandwich and I must say. That was absolutely the icing on the cake for me.Next time I come here id definitely try that sandwich with a pretzel bun.I wish I could try a little mini sampler of everything so I can it all out lol.“
“A restaurant that is quite busy with visitors in Michigan City with delicious food, chopped steak, perch basket, ruben sandwiches etc. at a very reasonable price. At lunch it is very busy. Coffee and drinks that can be refilled also make visitors very “
“Very impressed by this cool little neighborhood bar and restaurant now under new ownership. Great tap beer list, delicious food. We had the chicken wings and cauliflower bites. The place is clean and modern and looks like the place to be once the outdoor patio opens. Service was friendly and attentive.“
“We live in Indianapolis and make trips to Blue Chip, and each time we do, we have to go to Schoops! Their burgers are outstanding... simply the best. We also love the fried mushrooms and onion rings. I can't have the shakes, but if I could, I know they would be great as well. You really need to try them if you haven't... you'll be satisfied. I will tell you, a double with everything is so big, you need to be HUNGRY to finish it.“
“Carlson's is a gem in our community! It has been an icon of summertime in Michigan City for decades. Rootbeer floats, chili cheese dogs, breaded mushrooms and bags of salted fries - all evoke memories for me as my favorites there among a big menu. Like of mid afternoon food on the way home from the beach as a teen or young adult, or an evening stop on mild night out for a drive as grandparents, the food at Carlson's is fun and just plain good! It's the kind of place you find yourself saying in March, is Carlson's open yet? And when they close down after the season, it's a bummer. So my advice is go to Carlson's frequently and go now to make those memories and enjoy awesome drive in food!“
“This place is inexpensive and the food and ambience are so great! Even the bourbon onion rings you can bite and not pull the whole onion out! Lol the elote is great (although I'd do just a bit less cheese) The royale with cheese smash burger is mustard crusted and tastes like an old school, juicy cheeseburger should. ! Oh and Jones sodas on the fountain. They have a regular burger feature as well that we can't wait to try! Definitely with your hard earned money!“
“Great place to stop. The free peanuts are a nice cherry on top for this place. Pretty solid burger. I could probably only eat here once or twice a month because of how rich the burgers are, but each time would be a time I enjoy. The fountain machines have tons of options, which is wonderful and the food is pretty quick. The staff are friendly, which always adds to the experience.Parking: Big, empty lot. Very nice parking experience“
“Best restaurant and bar in Michigan City! Hands down!Parking: Prices beat the living hell out of any restaurants in the City, down home customers, excellent staff even when busy. Food fantastic, amounts proper, dine in here one time, you will find you will go to fast food places far less. No place else beats their prices. Locals love this place. And their parking lot shows it.“
“When I opened the door the smell of bleach hit me in the face and I started coughing because of it. I was not able to sit and enjoy my food due to me coughing so I had to eat my food in my car. I talked with the manager and informed her that she can disinfect with white vinegar and it is much cheaper than bleach. I hope cooperate reads these comments and changing from bleach to vinegar to disinfect.“
“Stoped for dinner on my way home from buying a new car from Pearl Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Peotone, IL. I was greeted at the front counter a, “What can I get for you, Sir?” Incredibly polite staff and customers. I was called, Sir, more than once. I had a roast beef sandwich, fries and a diet coke. Think I paid about $12. The only negative is the parking lot needs better lighting.Parking: Needs better lighting“
“Drove by randomly on our roadtrip and decided to try. Glad they have vegan options. Sweet potato fries were so good! All food was freshly made. Good experience:)Vegetarian options: Vegan options available.Parking: About 7-8 parking spots along the street.“
