Ordered Takeout and sometimes the food you get doesn’t hold up as well as it would eating it fresh. This was not the case with Cool Runnings. I had the Dark Jerk Chicken meal with cabbage, red beans and rice, and a side of the Mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely amazing!!!! I can not rave enough about how flavorful everything was. That Jerk Sauce was amazing! I love spicy foods and it was the perfect mild spice for me. Just enough to feel the burn but not over power the...read full review
I was really looking forward to trying this place after hearing so many good things through word of mouth, but unfortunately our experience was the complete opposite.
We were seated promptly, but every table around us — some who arrived 10 to 45 minutes after us — received their food before we did. After waiting over an hour, we asked how much longer it would be and were told “five minutes.” Twenty minutes later (now 1.5 hours in), we asked to speak with the manager....read full review
I’ve visited the food truck at the Michigan City Oktoberfest Aug 28 & 29. Their Jerk chicken and ribs are amazing.

Cool Runnings Restaurant & Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere and flavorful dishes. The menu features generous servings, including combo platters that allow guests to try multiple options. Standout dishes include shrimp mac n cheese, beef patty, curry chicken, and stew chicken, all with tasty sauces. The restaurant is kid-friendly, with high chairs and changing tables, and the service aims to make visitors feel at home. Customers praise the fresh, delicious food, with good portions and a friendly atmosphere. The Jerk chicken and catfish are especially popular, and the rice and beans, as well as the plantains, are reminiscent of home-cooked Caribbean cuisine. The restaurant's location, though off the beaten path, is worth the visit for the exceptional dining experience. Food and drinks never disappoint. The perk chicken dinner is a favorite, with red beans and rice and plantains, as well as steamed cabbage for a side. The food was amazing, and the waitress couldn’t have been friendlier. The drinks were great, too.
