The "1/4 lb" hamburger got lost once you put the bun on it. But it tasted OK, the fries were completely burnt. Couldn't even eat one. Hubby had the "chips". They're made in house, let's just say they should buy lays. They need to change the oil, and turn the temp down. There was 4 other people in the bar when we ordered. We were the only ones who ordered. Also, costs nothing to clean. If you find yourself at the corner of 21st and gage, don't go here. There's KFC, schlotzky's, I mean anywhere is better.

Went in at 0015, $8.75 for 2 beers in bottle. Another customer was complaining about $5 shots. The actually bar is bland and trashy. Felt very awkward inside. The locals had interesting conversations. If the first word I hear in a bar is the N word... it's a miss. Also how much drug talk do I have to listen too. Stay away.

New management clearly didn't learn from the old management. We ate here a few times before it was sold, and the burgers were the only saving grace. The place definitely has a "regulars only" vibe. If you don't want to have to ask for your check at the bar, you can always use Grubhub. Just don't order a patty melt and fried mushrooms. All that will get you is an improvised cheeseburger with canned mushrooms, which isn't even on the menu, and fried cauliflower that melts through the Styrofoam box. Aluminum foil is pretty cheap, but not as cheap as not using it! If you dont want to pay $50 for someone else's order, eat anywhere else. I don't know why they re-opened. They obviously don't want your money.Kid-friendliness: Don't bring your kids. Or yourself.

The gal who was 1 of the bartenders was so super drunk it was embarrassing. The crowd was just young drunken kids who looked like fools. It's really gone down hill. Shout out to the guy bartender looking after patrons who were so drunk & passing out at the bar for giving him water, being professional and SOBER! This was on Saturday. Also the 1st time my daughter & I went there to eat after Debbie sold it. The food was awful, fries were burnt, they forgot my daughters burger. So by the time she finally got her burger mine was cold. Not trying to sound like a Karen and I hope as time goes on they will figure out all the kinks. Even then the workers were just not friendly & even My daughter said it seemed like we were a burden to them even though all we did was oder food, the gal didn't write any of it down & forgot my daughters food. And I'm only frustrated because I know what this place used to be when Denise was the cook!

Great little hole in the wall place that I can't believe I haven't visited sooner! A true Topeka staple. Great food and taps. We had the chicken gizzards which were cooked to perfection. The quarter pound burgers and home fries were very good also. Washed down with a shiner Bock rounded the evening out. Highly recommend for a nice time out!

I have been a semi regular customer for years and most times I bought food. Over most of twenty years I have never had a single complaint with the food, or the service and never thought they had a problem with me either. That changed tonight. I went in at 9pm (they serve food till 10) I ordered their special and a drink from Chris and sat in a booth since the bar was crowded. After a while three spaces opened up at the bar so I moved to the center one to watch the game better and finish my meal. After about fifteen minutes Chris told me he was closing my seat and the one on either side of me and I would have to move back to a booth. I finished my drink and went to the cash register to pay. As I was standing there I watched three people walk in and take the three stools Chris had just told me he was closing. When Chris walked over to take my cash I asked him what was the deal? His reply was there is a totem pole, I guess you know where you are on it. I replied yes, I guess I do, not coming back. What totally baffled me about this was I did nothing to warrant the service I got. I had not spoken to anyone else in the place except to Chris when I placed my order. It was not like I was setting at the bar and acting obnoxious or farting the place up or something. What little bit I have added to the place through the years certainly will pose no hardship on the business, but I will never go back. I don't know if the guy was having a bad night or what but no mistaking his action was absolutely intentional. You don't have to tell me don't come back more than once. I will find another place to take my business going forward.

Like this place a lot. It's just a hometown bar but the service is great and the food is great and if you sit in the right booth there's a loose spring that gives your rump of vibration and feels pretty good.

Fantastic fresh to order barfood! The House Burger and Philly Steak are both excellent choices. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere.
