“This was the first time I've gotten to come here after moving to Lexington a year and a half ago and I was not disappointed! The food was amazing and accurate, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was prompt and friendly!!! I will definitely be coming back very soon, and I highly encourage coming here if you have a taste for Korean cuisine!“
“Nice chat with the main chef when I visit this restaurant. She is very knowledgeable about the nigiri ? and different salts that I have never heard about it. I like the atmosphere in there and definitely will come again if I visit Lex again. Plus I also like the Zensai-crispy rice the boy chef made it, the sauce is my favorite. ? yummy“
“I sat at the bar (solo), Gerardo was great....very engaging, helpful, listened...and he was busy with a full bar (it was Blue Grass Stakes Weekend). And his partner Graham was equally helpful and engaging. I returned a couple of nights later, the whole restaurant was full, Gerardo saw me, told me he would reserve a spot for me. 10 minutes later, I'm seated. Just great customer service...and I saw Gerardo treating everyone this way. I've traveled a lot to many high end restaurants, and I put these guys in my top 5 for service (maybe 3) and the restaurant in my top 7-8. I'll definitely be back when I return to Lexington.“
“Zundo is one of the best restaurants in Lexington! We've been to Japan, and this is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in the states we've ever been to. Their Gyoza is divine, their ramen is absolutely delicious, and I love their boba/smoothies! We come here several times a month, and the staff are so sweet and kind. You won't be disappointed!!!“
“I had the combination dinner number one. It has shrimp tempura and beef teriyaki. It comes with soup, salad, four pieces of California roll, and shumai. Everything was fantastic. I also had a Kirin beer. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast. Everyone on staff is very friendly and helpful. There is free parking, but the restaurant is small and there are not a lot of parking spots. It's probably a good idea to get a reservation, even though they don't seem to be required.“
“This was my first time to Zen. The server was amazing. The food and drinks were phenomenal. We order the Edamame, the Beaumont and the Xooker rolls which were selected by our server and the Nigiri Teishoki. Our drinks were A Single Plum and the Lychee Sakatini. I will definitely be back!“
“Michikusa Japanese Restaurant. This is my second time having lunch here and I’ve made up my mind: this is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Lexington, KY.The owner himself Hiroshi Aoyagi, who is also the chef, will fix your sushi and your perspective on sushi in general. I’ve been to Japanese restaurants that, within the first and second visit, the salmon sashimi cut got significantly smaller just like my paycheck after tax.But not Michikusa, no sir. In my second visit, the salmon is just as plump fresh and juicy as the first one. As a Christian, my meal here even made me pray twice: one standard prayer for before meal, and one after meal to thank the Good Lord for salmons. I don’t know about you but I think that salmons are also wonderfully made.I started with Agedashi Tofu and went with one of their lunch special options: Mini Salmon-don with half Udon/Soba. Udon and Soba are both noodles and due to my high blood pressure, I googled real quick which one is healthier then elegantly asked for Soba, please. I looked like I know what I’m doing, I wish my mom were here to see it It’s worth noting that 18% gratuity (tip) is automatically added to your bill so when the bill arrives, what you pay is what you see. I like that. I always have a hard time counting tip and math. They are just not my love language.I know I’ll be back and you should try it out, too! Aoyagi Hiroshi-san, arigatōgozaimashita!“
“Everything was great. Food was very quickAnd delicious, beers were cold and service was great! I would definitely go back. The only turn off was when they bring your bill, there is no place to fill in your tip amount. They give you three options and ask your to choose, while they are holding the paper right in front of you. It is very uncomfortable. However, I had such great service and food, I didn't mind tipping the max they had printed.“
“Yall! This is the place! Fellow vegetarians/vegans, this is an incredible spot to check out. Blue has an extensive vegan sushi menu & it is DIVINE.I have never had any sushi I’ve enjoyed, so I was uncertain at first. I met my parents here for dinner since they are huge sushi lovers & I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was absolutely some of the best food I’ve had in a minute at a restaurant as a vegetarian. Started off with the charred edamame, bc who doesn’t love a great bowl of edamame before dinner? I use to not love sushi bc of the seaweed wrap, so I was happy to know they had alternatives, soy rice paper & cucumber. I enjoyed their Thai & Crunchy Cabbagge rolls. I was shocked at how much I loved sushi, even went back a day later lol. Everything was super tasty. The flavors & textures were everything!!! Not only was the food great, but I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Our bartender Gabrielle provided excellent service. My family & I appreciated your kindness! Gabrielle was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. My mom is gluten free & we are always grateful when our server is eager to help & knows how to accommodate.Thank you for your service, can’t wait to come back!Vegetarian options: HUGEEEE VEGAN MENU!Dietary restrictions: Easy to eat GF, Vegan, & Vegetarian!Parking: Not bad parking, on busy nights be prepared to maybe have a 5 minute walk to Blue!“
“This place is incredible for the price. The general tsaos is the only place I've been to that actually has some spice in it upon request. Most places have big chunks of fatty chicken that has no flavor. This place has bite sized chunks, flavorful seasoning and the perfect amount of breading. The sushi and hibachi are some of the best in Lexington, and that says a lot compared to all of the other high end places. The yum yum sauce is perfect and not too sweet. If you're looking for a good fast restaurant on the Southside, this is the one to go to. I go here all the time“
“I just had my first experience and will be back for sure. I ordered the Tofu Poke Bowl for a scheduled pick up time, and was not disappointed. The moment I walked in (a few minutes early), my order was being finished. The serving portion was also perfect for a post-swim workout.“
“Great food, even for those of us who don't like sushi there are options.Only improvement I would make is the option to get larger portions for the bowls. Like a large that's 50% bigger and 50% more money. Would be perfect!Parking: Parking lot is behind the building with no light or cameras. Kinda sketchy.“
“When our planned dinner location was closed we rapidly googled something close by our hotel and settled on this hole in the wall sushi and cocktail bar. We were very satisfied with this choice. First the food was very basic, very well executed, and came super quick. Definitely try the Hawaiian Cucumber Wraps for a low carb treat. The service was unreal and very much personal. Whether it was “Grandma” (nothing meant here, but it just seemed like a family working together and she was the oldest (60-70) female working and reminded me of my Grandma) moving from table to table checking on you, or the line staff moving your food and drinks out fast it was great. The drinks were well made and cold. Price point was great for down town.“
“I took my parents and fiance here for dinner. The salmon salad that my fiance had was fantastic. The Atlantic Salmon that I had was the best I've ever had. If you stop in, try the Brussel sprouts and mushrooms as sides with this dish. You will not be disappointed. Our server, Shevi, was super friendly and prompt with refills and check-ins. We will definitely be repeat customers when we're in Lexington.“
“We did not plan to visit a land locked state and seek out sushi, but we got a craving and we're glad we did. Sushi blue was good and a great value. We had 2 appetizers, 7 rolls, and 15 pieces of sushi. This plus drinks was under $200. That definitely would not happen in Austin. The on fire roll was both an impressive presentation and an excellent roll. The yellow fin with avocado appetizer was good too. Stacy our service was polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Overall it was a wonderful surprise.“
“Drove almost 2 hours here for the AYCE sushi and we were not disappointed. We had tried Sumo2 3 months ago, but learned they have since closed so we came here. While I would not say this is authentic Japanese, the fish is still of really good quality and the rolls are creative! Our waiter was also kind, patient and attentive. We will definitely return again ☺️“
“I loved Drake's! My friend and her husband had us go here for dinner as it's one of her favorites. I understand why! I love a menu that brings in options, from wings, salads, burgers to sushi rolls! Not featured in my photos was my amazing bbq burger. I ate the entire burger and fries. Best to say I was full! To back track: we had the pretzels to start off which were nice and soft. Loved the dipping sauces. I had one of their special salmon rolls and I was very happy with it. They had a lot of good options - it was hard to pick. Honestly so pleased, our server Katelyn was super friendly and prompt. I would recommend for those who like various options of great food!“
“The best Japanese restaurant I’ve eaten at. The food was outstanding!! Adam was awesome - he was friendly, attentive, and gave us the best suggestions!! Our favorite of the evening was the xoomer sushi with wagyu beef, crab, shrimp, avocado and cream cheese! I wish this restaurant was near us but unfortunately we live in Raleigh, NC!“
