“YaimaSo I entertain clients for a living, which has brought me to some if the highest rated restaurants in the country. So when I say that this experience was par none the greatest I have ever had, it puts me in shock that this hidden oasis is nestled in Louisville. If I had stumbled upon this restaurant in a little haven of Cuba that would make more sense. The love was experienced in every bite but the passion of our waitress brought it all to a climax that will live with us forever. Yaima was one of lights in the industry that reminds you that people make the difference. She was the star that brings this wonderful experience to the mountain top of a five star experience. Recommend you sit outside where you can experience authentic cuban music as the food whisks you away to time that food speaks all language and units cultures. Bravo.“
“Great service. Shoutout to our server Brittany (hope I’m spelling it right). Cannot recommend the chicken empanadas enough. They are AMAZING. The bacon wrapped chorizo skewers are out of this world too! Shoutout Noel the bartender!!!! Drinks were great! I got the Mezcal old fashion, highly recommend. Girlfriend got the raspberry mojito and it was really refreshing. For dinner, girlfriend got the chicken and queso, I got the Vaca Frita, shredded steak with veggies, black beans, and rice. I cannot say enough about how good the food, drinks, and atmosphere are here. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options.Parking: Hardly any parking, but this is not Havana Rumba’s fault. It’s a very busy area. You will have to find street parking around the local neighborhood which will likely require a small walk.“
“Wonderful hole-in-the-wall Cuban food. Clean and understated place that produces excellent staple foods. The Lechon Asado was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The tostones were great, and the plantains were fresh. Fresh bread lines one wall, and their dessert cooler looks like pure evil! I felt like I was in Miami.“
“Alright... time to give it up and announce my number 1 place to get ropa vieja is now La Palma!Seriously, I can be rather picky about ropa vieja but I gobbled this one right up. The flavors were there and the texture was amazing. I find sometimes if it cooks too long it can become *too fine*. This however was perfectly shredded. Now the black beans.... Absolutely delicious. They arnt my favorite I've ever had but they will be taking the #2 spot. I prefer soup-y beans and this was just the right consistency. You may have noticed I got white rice.... It's honestly because I wanted to be able to eat it with the beans & ropa vieja without the flavors interfering. There were two other options, and perhaps I'll try them in the future, but this time I was glad I got plain white. The building is located off Preston and has a smaller parking lot, but usually has a few spots open. there was some seating inside but i chose to grab it and go. I noticed a cute neon sign with the name, i wish i would've grabbed a picture! thats okay.. it gives me an excuse to come back sooner;)Last thoughts: Best ropa vieja Ive ever had. Huge portion at a good price. Yummy rice & beans. Can't wait to revisit!“
“Such an amazing experience. The customer service is amazing!!!!!It didn't fall short of my expectations in any aspect. I'm so thankful this restaurant is available is such a pleasure to come here!! I ordered for 7 people and paid the lowest tip (I'm sorry!! ). For a grand total of $129.79“
“We had a group of 9, so I called and reserved a table. I’m glad we did, because the restaurant was fairly busy even on a Thursday. Our server was amazing and so attentive. She made sure we always had full drinks, our order was perfectly accurate, and she was so nice as well. According to the receipt, her name is Carolina. The food was amazing (as always!). We also loved the live music. This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat when we are in Louisville. Thank you for another great dinner!“
“Food is always excellent…a little pricey but the quality & larger portions are well worth the $. They have a covered outdoor dining area as well as spacious indoor seating. They sometimes have live music from local performers which provides an exciting atmosphere. My favorite Cuban Bar & Grill perfect for a night out with dinner, drinks, & fun!“
