“Wow, what a great place! My wife and I visited Louisville, and on the recommendation of a local, popped into Mayan Cafe and were completely impressed! The hostess and waitress were extremely nice and even though we came toward the end of the night were very welcoming and never hurried us along. The margarita with mezcal I ordered was perfect, and the dark, romantic room was fun and had a good, buzzy energy. We ordered the sikil pak and both agreed it was the best we've had - great depth of flavor and silky texture, it is a must-try! The scallop ceviche was also great - the scallops were marinated to the perfect texture, the flavors were fresh and bright, and the serving size was generous. My wife ordered the tuna tacos and loved them, raved about them. I ordered the duck with black mole and it was really great - succulent dark duck, confited and served shredded, tasted almost like deeply roasted, juicy pot roast - awesome flavor, but the mole was the star - great compliment to the duck. We split the cochinita pibil and both loved it - the achiote sauce was beautiful to look at and tasted earthy and complex, and the fried plaintains it was served with were nicely tourneed - a cool little touch that added to the fancy vibes of the meal. Even though it is certainly gourmet-level and very interesting food and a great way to experience a different kind of "Mexican" cuisine, and the dishes are crafted with love and look great on the plate, the prices were very fair and not too expensive. We loved Louisville, plan to visit more often, and will definitely be back to Mayan Cafe (to hopefully try the rabbit next time!). Highly recommended.”

“My experience is a bit different...we ordered via GrubHub tonight. We are new to KY & wanted to try Havana Rumba. ALSO, we have never had cuban food before. The restaurant was quick & the GH driver got our order to us just as quick. We opened our bag & found part of our order is missing. I tried to contact the driver but was unable to. So I contacted Havana Rumba. The person that answered was very kind, verified my order & found that the driver had left the second part of my order. She tried contacting the driver but they refused to return & make the delivery right (who did NOT deserve the tip he got). So Havana Rumba rose to the occasion going above & beyond! They apologized for the situation & one of them delivered the missing food to us. Not only was it delicious, but the customer service was beyond exceptional! ? Way to go Havana Rumba, excited to try more from your menu! Can't say the same for GrubHub...”

“Hands down, the best chicken shawarma in Louisville. Would recommend the shawarma fries or the shawarma plate if you're extra hungry. Don't forget to add some Zu sauce to your order. It's very mild on the spice level but adds a nice zing to your meal. The owner is one of the nicest in town as well. Glad to see family run businesses doing well in Louisville.”

“I was here this evening for dinner with friends. We had a great meal, great drinks, and our server was friendly and attentive. The only problem was the dessert which I ordered; sopapillas. These are traditional New Mexican soft, fried, puffed dough pockets, drizzled with honey or covered in cinnamon and sugar. Think small soft donuts. Well, what I got was a hard, flat, fried tortilla, cut into quarters, and covered in cinnamon and sugar. That is NOT any kind of a sopapilla I have ever had at any Mexican restaurant before. It was awful. When I told the server my thoughts on what was served, she argued with me that this was indeed sopapillas. Right. My advise; do not order this usually delightful dessert at Tres Amigos, because you'll get something other than true sopapillas!”

We split the spicy chicken empanadas, delicious, however, we did not detect the spice. We split the green chili Caesar. Honestly, the best Caesar in town. I do t see how they get it so cold and crisp, it's amazing! We then each had a ceviche. The baby shrimp, which were much bigger than anticipated, such wonderful flavor! My daughter had the crab, the server suggested mixing it right away to get the sauce mixed in. Very good! It did need more liquid. We simply poured the extra shrimp sauce in the crab, it was superb after that. The tomato on the shrimp just gives it more moisture and such a good flavor! We can't wait to go back!”

“We had Red Top Hotdogs food truck cater our fall wedding at an outdoor venue and we were blown away! Telling guests that they are eating hot dogs did not do their experience justice! We got rave reviews from our guests, many of which, had multiple hot dogs given the diversity of the menu. While non-traditional, it was a total hit from the average wedding food, and absolutely made the day super unique. The service from Ryan start to finish was seamless! He was responsive, collaborative, and super easy to work with. Also, don't sleep on his bread pudding! No one even noticed we didn't have cake! I can't say enough good things about this vendor, book them!”
“My first time at a Waffle House! It was pretty busy around 10am on a Saturday. Our waitress was nice but the food took a very long time to come out. There were many people working too. The food was actually really good! And the prices aren’t terrible. I would definitely come back, although only during the day on like a weekday when it is not so busy. The only bad thing was a guy sitting near us who literally had his entire buttcrack hanging out the entire time…that definitely spoiled my appetite ? not sure how people can have so little self-awareness and/or not care! Be sure to try the Buzzard’s Roost as it is the creation of the house. After being seated in a cozy table the 6 of us (5 adults and 1 preteen) our server described the specials for the evening and we ordered appetizers. The goat cheese, fried oysters and roasted bone marrow were perfect starters followed by shrimp and grits, tomahawk pork chop, hamburger and Bangers and mash. Every dish was perfect and our server made sure that our meal was perfectly timed. We lingered a bit over dessert and coffee drinks. You can not go wrong with this experience. Manager Anna was not a teensy bit worried about our cancelation, but exceptionally worried about our cat. She went on to ask Luna's name and other questions. Experiencing this human kindness meant the world - especially in that moment. Anna moved our reservation to the next day and made sure we were exceptionally cared for! She paired Neve to be our server (also a cat lover). I was surprised when he asked about Luna! We went on to swap cat photos and names. It was basic human connection - that I feel is often lost in society and certainly in dining experiences. Not at 610. Expect staff to care about you. Due to the cost and the desire to tip 30%+, a meal like 610 happens once a year for us. However, after this experience, we will go to less date nights - just to experience 610 more. This is because of the kind gestures Anna and Neve provided for us during a time of great sorrow. Our sweet cat may have died, but our latest experience at 610 will last forever! “Dined here in early July. The food is to die for (especially a curry-style dish on the menu when we visited), the service is excellent (and not too hurried), and the ambiance is charming. The bread is also out of this world. The wine pairings also nicely complement the food, and the desserts are definitely worth having (especially the drunken banana cake). It is one of the nicest special occasion restaurants in Louisville. One caveat of interest to certain diners is the restaurants lax policy on pets. When we dined there, another table came in with a small dog. It wasn't a service or support dog because the diners kept passing it around the table, and even that table's server petted it. The dog's presence didn't bother us (it was well-behaved and quiet), but I could see some diners not enjoying dinner with a dog at the next table.”

We still have Le Relais, a good experience but not a steak place. We still have Jack Fry's. That too, like Le Relais, is an institution, and they serve some great food in great atmospheres. If you have poor service at any of these places, you're just unlucky that evening. Louisville has some of the most pleasant and attentive service in the country. But if you want a good steak in Louisville, you go to Le Moo. Great ribeyes, and an awesome Tomahawk. The meat quality is a little better than Ruth's. If they both use the same distributor for steaks...? Meh, Forgive me. Here's the thing, Le Moo doesn't leave my palette coated with seasoning and salt. Most restaurant fare is loaded with unnecessary flavor enhancers. I'm not saying any I've mentioned here use them, and I am not making such a claim. My claim is that, in many Louisville restaurants, many dishes taste overly salted.”

They gave detailed explanations of the meals and gave exceptional table side service. even bagging up our food for us and bringing more condiments out without even being asked before we left. They absolutely take pride in every single aspect of what they do. and it is so very evident that they deeply care about their food. business, and customers. They were so welcoming and we even discussed possibly hosting another birthday party there with them and they were all for it, even offering to let us decorate if we wanted and a private space depending on how large our group was. Let me just stay that the staff here is amazing and really made our visits a delight. We were intent on doing the BYO experience here, so we arrived at 9:00 am to get a good spot in line on our first day. Unfortunately the times didn't work out with our schedule the first day, but we made it work the following day. The tour was great and Jim our tour guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about the product. While we had a few members of our tour who indulged a bit too much earlier in the day, we still had a great time. The BYO was so fun and I can't wait to try the bourbon we bottled! The best part was pulling the lever and getting the bottle in such a cool box and custom label. We also tasted a flight of ryes in the upstairs pub, which was delightful and such a great way to end our day. If you are planning a Louisville visit, Micther's is a must do!”

Sat at a booth and table had confetti hearts and a rose with a congratulatory card. Our server was Lydia and she was outstanding without being pretentious! We started with a cup of clam chowder and French onion soup. Clam chowder was good, but needed a little more seasoning. The French onion was delicious with loads of cheese. Hubs had the sea bass & it was excellent. Cooked perfectly. I had the strip steak Au poiver. It was excellent also & cooked to exactly as requested. The sauce was very good & steak was tender. We shared the Brussel sprouts and lobster Mac & cheese. Brussel sprouts were good as was the Mac & cheese altho not much lobster or lobster taste. I would skip the Mac & cheese next time. Food: there was not a single dish I did not enjoy. Everything I had was exploding with flavor and exceeded expectations. I was going to go into extreme detail about how much I enjoyed each and every dish but as of two weeks ago (mid March 2024) the menu was updated and a lot of the things I had are no longer available. The octopus hush puppies are still available and VERY delicious. The toppings really bring this dish over the top and make it something special. Although I am sad to see my favorite dish (creamy scallop udon) no longer on the menu, I am equally excited to have a reason to come back and try other things. Service: impeccable. My waiter was kind and helpful and well versed in the menu. If you have any questions about portions or menu be sure to ask because this group is amazing and will get you answers! Atmosphere: I came on a weeknight about 10 minutes after they opened and I was the only one there until closer to 5. The space is very simple but sleek. Price: This is where I advise to understand what you're getting into. This is not a fast casual spot and one shouldn't expect those prices. But the prices are not outrageous for the quality/quantity of food you get. It was around $100 for enough food for 2 people. Obviously this is where it can vary depending on what dishes you get, but trust me, you'll want to try a skewer or the octopus hush puppies. Overall: amazing food and I can't wait to bring my husband back for a date night.”

Unfortunately, I got glutened & have been sick for 2 days and missed a day of work.Vegetarian options: Not the best option. The green beans have lots of meat in them. Potato salad has boiled egg in it.I'm sure you could order a salad, baked potato and maybe a steamed vegetable. The calamari was really good but could have came with a dipping sauce..we had to ask for one. The mushrooms were overcooked and too salty. The salads weren't big at all. The lump crab came in a tiny metal ramekin and it was salty as well and wasn't lump at all..it was shredded. Presentation on a lump crab shouldn't be served this way in such a fancy restaurant. on a positive note...the manager was very professional and they took care of the whole bill plus gave us dessert. I just want to leave this as constructive criticism for them so hopefully they improve the quality and quantity of their food for people paying high dollar. We ordered the baked meatballs and bacon cheese fries. Oh so good! The marinara sauce was fabulous and the meatballs moist and seasoned well! The bacon cheese fries were delicious with their melted mozzarella and ranch for dipping. Our waitress super nice and helpful. Everything was so good, we went back for dinner. Dinner was a bacon cheeseburger pizza and we added their spicy pickles to it and asked for marinara as the base in stead of pizza sauce. NO REGRETS! It was the best pizza we've had in a long while! Ordered an old fashioned and their local beer that was similar to a Blue Moon. Both were great. Evening hours were busy but not packed. Great music, bar type atmosphere. Another great waitress that was super fun and friendly and helpful. Highly recommend eating here if you're in town! Next time we are here, we WILL come back! The steak rolls are a blend of three types of steak ground and fried in a wonton wrapped, which I really enjoyed. The seabass with the lemon capier sauce was a special of the day that was cooked perfectly ?. They also offer some decent bread, they taste like a deep fried cake donut with lout any sugar but are served with a cinnamon butter that is very nice. For desert, I had the carrot cake, which was better than average but nothing that will wow you.”

I shared a piece with one of my neighbors and she really liked it too and was going to try the cauliflower pizza herself the next time she’s there.My husband had “make your own lasagna” with beef, Italian sausage and extra cheese. He was able to add up to 3 items at no extra charge. It came with garlic bread. He absolutely loved it and ate every bite! It was delivered with steam rolling out. We still have Le Relais, a good experience but not a steak place. We still have Jack Fry's. That too, like Le Relais, is an institution, and they serve some great food in great atmospheres. If you have poor service at any of these places, you're just unlucky that evening. Louisville has some of the most pleasant and attentive service in the country. But if you want a good steak in Louisville, you go to Le Moo. Great ribeyes, and an awesome Tomahawk. The meat quality is a little better than Ruth's. If they both use the same distributor for steaks...? Meh, Forgive me. Here's the thing, Le Moo doesn't leave my palette coated with seasoning and salt. Most restaurant fare is loaded with unnecessary flavor enhancers. I'm not saying any I've mentioned here use them, and I am not making such a claim. My claim is that, in many Louisville restaurants, many dishes taste overly salted.”

At lunch the have 50% off bottle of wine but they only double the normal wine price. Many place triple it or more. “Wow oh Wow. There's a reason this place is held in such high regard. For starters, I typically don't like Japanese food but I would eat Enso's food off the floor. Yes it's that good. Food: there was not a single dish I did not enjoy. Everything I had was exploding with flavor and exceeded expectations. I was going to go into extreme detail about how much I enjoyed each and every dish but as of two weeks ago (mid March 2024) the menu was updated and a lot of the things I had are no longer available. The octopus hush puppies are still available and VERY delicious. The toppings really bring this dish over the top and make it something special. Although I am sad to see my favorite dish (creamy scallop udon) no longer on the menu, I am equally excited to have a reason to come back and try other things. Service: impeccable. My waiter was kind and helpful and well versed in the menu. If you have any questions about portions or menu be sure to ask because this group is amazing and will get you answers! Atmosphere: I came on a weeknight about 10 minutes after they opened and I was the only one there until closer to 5. The space is very simple but sleek. Price: This is where I advise to understand what you're getting into. This is not a fast casual spot and one shouldn't expect those prices. But the prices are not outrageous for the quality/quantity of food you get. It was around $100 for enough food for 2 people. Obviously this is where it can vary depending on what dishes you get, but trust me, you'll want to try a skewer or the octopus hush puppies. Overall: amazing food and I can't wait to bring my husband back for a date night.”

Menu's were on the table and a nice variety for a small setup. The owners working the booth were very friendly and told us a little bit about the food. The food was served piping hot and perfect consistency. It had heat, but was not overwhelming. I also enjoyed that it had sausage in the mix. This red beans and rice is close to the best I've ever had - YOU MUST TRY IT! My friend ordered a sausage that I tried and it was also very tasty. I'd definitely order from here again. Reason for 4 stars - Signage needed. With the setup at the event we were at, this business looked like it was part of the food truck next to it. There was no visible signage indicating they were a business at all. Maybe add a logo tablecloth or a small banner or even some shirts you wear with the logo. I'd love to see yall succeed!”
