“When I transferred to Cali, a majority of our meals were from 2 taquerias. Authentic, homey, hole in the wall spots that most wouldn’t think to try (one had drive thru micheladas.) When I decided to move South, my family relocated from Mississippi to the smallest town in Louisiana.I was so worried I wouldn’t find another spot like my prior favorites. I relocated to Gonzales and let me tell you, I did not expect Don Beto’s. My go to is their gorditas (lengua, barbacoa, and tripita). I crave those damn things. They are absolutely addicting but I may be slightly bias because they offer my mandatory meat preferences lmao. Anyways, clearly you can tell I love to eat and give absolute credit where it is due and highly deserved.“

“Love it. I work close so I go here quite often for lunch or after work. My usuals are the chicken or beef enchiladas but, of course, you'll find all of the dishes you'd expect to find at a Mexican restaurant. You won't be disappointed with the options or quality of the food here. The couple who own the place are very friendly and personal. Both have made me feel at home and welcomed since my very first visit when it first popped up in the area. From my experiences there, there seem to be a lot of regulars and a most of diners seem to know each other and have gotten to know the owners well from frequenting the restaurant so often which should tell you something about the quality of the food and feel of the place. There are lunch specials but the prices on the regular menu aren't that bad either. I don't think I've ever paid over $20 for my meal and a drink which includes chips and salsa, so you can't complain about that. I've never had an adult beverage there since I'm mostly going midday during work but there is a bar there and if I come later people are often enjoying margaritas and such. Yes. Definitely go support this local business if you're in the mood for Mexican food. Not sure how close it is to do everyone else in that area but it would be worth a little drive as well. For me it's great to have an option for lunch, besides Subway or the Chinese place in that same shopping center. Looking forward to my next visit!“

“Best tacos in PVILLE!! These tacos may not be the greatest for you, nor the cleanest eating experience, but DAMN they are good!! The tacos are authentic, delicious, and well priced. And their green salsa is incredibly spicy but that stuff is a gift from the gods. I've eaten from this truck consistently every 2 or so weeks for about the past year, and I have no plans to stop.“

“This is our favorite place!! It's authentic and the flavors are amazing! The staff are super sweet and very attentive. Last time I went I got the Al pastor pork taco, and the minigringa de maiz!! I even drank the rest of the gravy for dipping...it's that good! Let me just say you are missing out of you haven't dined here!“

“The food was great. It had been years since I had eaten at one of the Las Palmas restaurants. They weren't particularly keen on allowing us in with our service dogs. But all they do is just lay down in their stroller and sleep. However they did take our word that the little dogs would be no trouble and they go with us everywhere. So Kudos to the staff.Had a great time“

“The tacos at this restaurant were absolutely amazing. The flavors were rich and delicious, and the size portions were generous. I highly recommend trying them out if you ever find yourself in Baton Rouge. Trust me, you won't regret it! Overall, I would rate these tacos a perfect 10 out of 10.“

“Food was good but service was a joke. They would be better off having counter service because I watched severs play on the phones , sitting down eating and ignoring their tables including mine. I know serving is a tough job but these kids weren’t even trying. I always tip 18-25% and if they really do well I’ll tip 30-35% but this was bad service and there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants around. The food and Busser were great but the service was so bad by the server it’ll be a long time until I go back and it doesn’t seem like management or the owners care and that’s disappointing“

“Friendly servers, good food, inexpensive, family atmosphere.Only thing their margaritas aren't as good as should be. They use a cheap mix. Can't say it taste like a margaritas.I would really recommend except maybe you'd rather a coke or tea instead .Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“

“My favorite thing to get is the barbacoa burrito. The green sauce makes every bites so spicy but it’s addicting. Get the red sauce if you got the stones for it. Bring cash and always say thank you. What a great place to have so close to home.“

“I would give this a perfect five if it wasn’t for the inevitable screaming baby in the restaurant, but it’s overall a good place to eat for any occasion, and there was this nice waitress in a long-sleeve Adidas Shirt who was just the best! Will always love the white Queso?“

“Food was good, portions size was awesome. We were outside on the patio and the band was loud to where we couldn't really hear the conversation at the table would be my only complaint. Drinks were awesome as well just took a while to get them.“

“Initially I thought it was just like a worse chipotle, but they had things chipotle doesn't have. Varieties of tortillas, sizes of burritos, and the mushrooms were good. The staff were nice, even letting me take my food before we paid.Vegetarian options: They didn't have a sofritas equivalent which we really like because it's good veggie protein. If you're fine with cheese and beans as protein it's fine.“

“Tried the El Mario plate. Chimichanga enchilada and crispy taco was all very good and plenty of food. Only request would be that they season the beef just a bit more. I'll have to come back and try something different because there are plenty of selections on the menu.“

“I placed a to-go order after arriving to this location and was served immediately by the host. 15 mins and my meal was bagged and ready to go. Payment was processed quickly. We got the Birria tacos, a side tamale, la Mexicana combo, and churros. ALL the food was absolutely delicious. 5/5“

“I used to LOVE their margaritas! so good and nice and strong as well. used to get margs for our crew on the weekends after a wedding or party.HOWEVER, lately their margaritas have not been as good and this last time my margarita was really not great. they said they switched the tequila they use and I'm not a fan. also on my first margarita there was hardly any ice and it melted quickly so then my drink was also warm.the food is still good but I will no longer be recommending to go there for margaritas. they used to be the absolute BEST margs in town.“

“Super fajitas, great margaritas, bean dip and salsa with the chips when you sit down. They make their own tortillas fresh. Fish tacos also a winner. I've been going to Mi Padres for over a decade and as a half Texan it's in the running for best Mexican in the BR metro area.“
