“No pictures this time I was too hungry. I ordered beef and broccoli with pork fried rice. I ended up with shrimp and broccoli. This order was "to go " so didn't realize till I got home what I got. In any event the food from is really good.“
“So happy we tried this restaurant. Three of us shared a variety of dishes and all were full of flavor, we could not stop exclaiming over the food. We sampled both the raw and cooked seafood and the egg cloud soup was delightful. Wine offerings added to our experience.“
“LOVED IT HERE!!!! Will certainly come back as soon as I can because all of my food was mouthwateringly delicious ? Literally still dreaming about the Hot and Sour Soup + Walnut Shrimp i had. And all 5 of my other friends said the same about their meals. We sat at the bar and still had perfect service via a sweet lady. One of my pals has a very serious gluten allergy, so naturally finding decent food in the city was super difficult. however… This restaurant has a sizable vegan AND gluten-free menu and I really can’t stress how delicious the food and drinks were !! Thanks yall (:Dietary restrictions: Great for all restrictions! Great portion sizes!“
“Hole in the wall place with very good standard Chinese fair. Its my kiddos favorite lomein & orange chicken. And probably the best lomein Ive had. The fried rice on the other hand none of us liked and lacks flavor. But we've tried a few other dishes and all were super delicious. The garlic chicken has a super savory sauce with a slight sweetness & a hint of spice which was my favorite dish so far. Food is always hot & fresh.“
“Who knew the best california roll I ever eaten in my life was 20 minutes away from my front door? The garlic salmon was so good too. 2 ice cold Abita's and a great waiter made for the best night i could have ever asked for. Schwarzenegger voice, "I'll be back... for more Sushi." ?“
“I just had my food delivered by Uber Eats,,, I can't say anything bad about the food ...it was tasty. However I will dine in the next time, I didn't get anything to eat my food with and I ordered soup along with other items, so no spoon or fork..no napkins...etc. even so my food was good!“
“Portions are absolutely massive. This is the biggest egg roll I've ever seen. Not only was the egg roll huge, but it was also so yummy. I liked how they asked if we wanted white or dark meat. Nice to have the option of all white meat. Definitely a take out only type of restaurant. It's not somewhere you want to eat inside, only two small tables. Would be nice if they had a few more pictures on the menu of different options. Will be ordering again though!“
“If you're in town, COME HERE. The service and ambiance may not be the best, but you'll be dreaming of the food for weeks to come. - Wonton with Spicy Sauce: the STAR of the menu. I wish I knew what was inside this sauce because it was the perfect amount of spice, sweetness, and umami. I tried to recreate it at home, and couldn't quite capture the deliciousness that this was. - Shrimp Har Gow: standard dim sum dish, always a must have in my opinion. -Xiao Long Bao Dumplings: another standard dim sum dish; held up to expectations. The wrappers didn't tear as easily as other XLB I've had across restaurants. Don't forget to top a few of them with chili oil! - Steamed Veggie Bao: a skippable dish - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about either- Basil Popcorn Chicken: perfectly crispy, super hot, and well seasoned. I ordered this at the recommendation of a coworker and was not let down. While I wish it came with a sauce (and I dipped it into the wonton sauce), it is still a strong dish on its own. Is this restaurant super inexpensive? No. Is it delicious? Absolutely. If I am ever back in NOLA, I will be coming back to Dian Xin.“
“My favorite cheap Chinese take out spot in Nola. Sketchy parking lot, full of “local flavor”! Take your food and run away! I always order before I pick up, get in and get out! It’s a legit American version Chinese food place. Not cuisine, but still very good. I get Kung Pao chicken a lot and I am always happy with the what they serve up.They always have the food ready when I arrive. If you’re looking for a new drug dealer, out front is a great spot to find a hook up.I feel a little bad for the people working here because they’re fairly pleasant considering how much street hassle they probably have to deal with everyday.Good place to go if you’re bored and want to appreciate how chill your life is!“

“My first time here; as soon as I walked in, I was in love with the place. I see too many of these little “take out only” Chinese restaurants that are lit by fluorescent lighting ? and when I walked inside Empress of China, I knew I loved it. It was not bright inside, and Chinese mysic played softly in the background. So, immediately 10/10 for the atmosphere. The service was outstanding! The server got to me quickly, very attentive, friendly, git everything right. The tables were all clean, and had a young man who took care of that immediately after the customers left and cleaned the table thoroughly.I ordered the Mandarin Chicken. This is my “comfort food” at any Chinese restaurant. For those who don’t know this dish, it is boneless chicken (breast meat or thigh meat), breaded and deep fried… laid out onto a bed of lettuce, topped with brown sauce, and served with fried rice and your choice of egg roll, two veg spring rolls, crab rangoon, or chu chu (I think that’s mirliton but I’m not sure). There was A LOT OF FOOD. They do not skimp on portions. Everything was great, except for the brown sauce. This one had cumin in it (I think it was cumin, it could have been another spice) and it really kind of ruined the flavor for me. I like cumin, but not really with that sauce. My only gripe… everything else was delicious, and next time I go I’ll get something else. I’m definitely going back, even though it is way out of the way for me.I took lots of pictures, check them out. The place is just really nice on the inside… how a Chinese restaurant is supposed to be. Very relaxing. ?“
“We picked up the best fried shrimp po-boys from here today with tons of quality shrimp, on the right bread, perfectly dressed. And you can't beat the price. Now, we're kicking ourselves for not trying T&T when we lived on nearby Annunciation Street for years; for sure, they would have been our go-to for neighborhood takeout. We'll be back whenever we're ever in the Lower Garden District.Fresh seafood, friendly and family-owned, and clean to boot.“
“I grew up in NYC loving the food in Chinatown, so when a local friend suggested we have lunch at Hong Minh in nearby Harvey, I thought "oh no, suburban Chinese food... blah." I quickly shed my preconceptions once food started arriving at our barebones table in a plain-Jane dining room in this nondescript strip mall. Dang! This is easily up there with the best Chinese food you'll find anywhere in the country. Highlights include BBQ pork, roasted duck, salt & pepper string beans and Singapore mei fun. I asked one of the owners who was taking a break from hacking up roast ducks what part of China they were from and he said "Hong Kong and Taiwan, NOT China." Take that, China and preconceptions!“
“Upon arrival at MSY Airport, I was craving for dim sum and stumbled upon this restaurant located approximately 10 minutes away from the rental car facility. They offer dim sum and a la carte selections; however, the dim sum selections were somewhat limited compared to other larger dim sum restaurants. The restaurant was clean and my server was attentive.“
“The shrimp fried rice was amazing. The sesame chicken sauce was just as good. But I wasn’t a fan of the meat itself. Weird taste. But that’s not my problem. My problem is them not taking debit/credit cards. It’s 2023 I hardly ever carry cash. I was hungry and had my mind set on this place so I had to go to an ATM. Adding extra time and wasting gas. But overall. Everything else was great. I really did enjoy the Rice.“
“Little Chinatown is my go-to spot for Chinese cuisine in NOLA, and it never disappoints. Tucked away as a hole in the wall, it exudes authentic charm. What sets it apart is the generous portion sizes at reasonable prices. My personal favorites include the baked half duck, seasoned to perfection and wonderfully tender. The salt and pepper pork chops are another standout, boasting crispy perfection and delightful seasoning. While they offer sweet and sour and Peking pork chops as well, I find the salt and pepper variant irresistible. Despite being saucier, they retain their crispy texture admirably. The fried rice bursts with flavor, though it tends to be a tad greasy. For a refreshing balance, the snow peas with garlic make an excellent choice. And don't miss out on the calamari--crispy and generously sized. In summary, if you're craving top-notch Chinese fare in NOLA, Little Chinatown is a must-visit.“
“The food was very good, however because all of your seafood is imported, the menu options were very limited. It is a shame that a local restaurant has to sell imported seafood, when we live in a state where seafood is so available. Food imported from the far East is certainly not healthy for human consumption, and was not expected from a national chain site. You can do better. We will reconsider other restaurant options next time.“
“This is my favorite place to get take Out the food in absolutely amazing and always fresh and HOT!! the customer service is unmatched they all are pleasant and friendly and dine in is peaceful and welcoming waiters are always fast and on they’re Job.. Thanks for always being my go too and never failingKid-friendliness: My kid love the games Installed“
“Please go try this place if you want delicious Chinese food for a reasonable price. The outside isn't anything special -- neither the inside- but it's clean. The owners are there working and very nice. The Kung Pao shrimp was the best I've had-- spicy, big shrimp, delicious veggies. The Boneless Fried Chicken was excellent. The crust was crispy but didn't overwhelm the chicken. It comes with white meat so there's no upcharge like other places. Nice serving of house Chardonnay for 6.95 and my husband drank several glasses of their iced tea. Wonton was crispy and not greasy. The egg rolls were very good & great price-- 3.45 for 2. They did a lot of takeout while we were there dining in. We will definitely return within the week and are looking forward to bringing family that enjoy GREAT CHINESE FOOD. Best of all, we live in Harahan and it's very close to home.“
“first time ordering here and i have to say the food was delicious. I had a take out order...food was packaged very well..everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The worker was very helpful with my questions when ordering as well. Will definitely be back. HAPPY WOK great job!“
“One of the better buffets in the are. Service is always prompt, curious and polite. The food selection should cover just about ones preference. It's fresh, hot, and well maintained. They will actually offer to fix sushi rolls, if you don't see what you like or offer their special rolls. Always a clean place to eat.Parking: Handicap painted parking at front door.“
“I love the mei fun, ( noodles) scallops, & fried chicken wings, there are many other meals I really like, I prefer noodles, over rice.you choose! The people are friendly & aim to satisfy their customers. Normally you can sit & eat there.they serve takeout orders since Covid 19 .I went for some delicious mafun & chicken today ,& yummy ? i like this place food better than CHINA DOLL.10/03/23 Another trip I felt like eating Vegetable Mei fun & an order of chicken wings W/ Shrimp Fried rice.10/15/23I had a taste for my usual vegetarian mei fun & chicken wings & fried rice. I usually stick w/ what I love & am comfortable with. & yes the do have a vegetarian menu.Sunday 11/5/23 I went to Hong Kong Kitchen Marrero today. Before Covid you could dine in, Since Covid it is TakeOut only . I tried House Mei Fun ( No Salt W/ shrimps & Pork) ❤️ & a PauPau platter.Vegetarian options: You can Request, NO SALT, LIGHT SALT, OR MSG, certain meats, or seafoods .Dietary restrictions: I have been coming here a few years & I , you, can get food steamed, veggies, and request certain ingredients to be left out. more or less is up to meParking: There are multiple businesses there it's in a strip mallKid-friendliness: When eating in,You can request a high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: Strip malls have wheelchair accessible areas to enter businesses.“
“Pretty good. Fresh taste not nearly as salty as others. Egg roll is homemade loaded with shrimp and pork. Purchased My "standard" curry chicken, extra hot. As a chilly head I rate it mild. Portion size is huge IMO. The only negative thing was the egg roll was packed inside the package and not separate. When the takeout box leaned the sauce for the main dish soaked the egg roll. But the egg roll was...still good.. just mushy on the outside.“
“I must admit, I was extremely skeptical of this place when I first entered as a food delivery driver. Upon entering the delicious smell of Chinese food hit my nose and I was hooked. I knew I had to try it. Well tonight was the night and IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They have the best egg rolls I've ever had. Get the shrimp egg roll! They are all handmade and the quality of the food and service is absolutely stellar.“
“Best hole in the wall place for Chinese food in Kenner/Metairie area. My husband introduced me to this restaurant over a decade ago and we continue to order food from here at least a few times every month. We usually order the combo plates, chicken on the stick, and crab rangoons. We find the food is consistent, hot, and fast. I never knew freshly cooked General Tso chicken was supposed to be crispy and then covered in sauce until I tried it here. The service is great for introverts who want to just pick up their food and go. The inside is pretty dated, but always clean.“
“This is my go to Chinese takeout spot in the whole city of New Orleans. The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is always super friendly and the spicy sesame chicken always comes with the heat!My favorite item on the menu is their dumplings because they’re not like every other restaurant in town that uses the same freezer bag Sam’s Club dumplings. They are dumplings are handmade to perfection.“
“Kind of a hole in the wall spot, but the food was good. I had the sweet n sour chicken. It was the battered fried chicken nuggets with the orange colored sauce, not the fried chicken thighs cut into pieces with the red sauce that I prefer. My wife had the schezsuan beef...I wanted that after tasting hers?.Overall, we enjoyed the food, and there was easily enough on the plate for 3 meals...and I can eat a lot!“
“I have enjoyed this restaurant multiple times. This review is on a Friday lunch visit. Ambiance is non-existent for this to-go restaurant, but that's to be expected. The food is definitely fresher than the decor. However, staff is always polite and check out is quick. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the to go utensils and sauces are stored in plastic containers like you would buy at Walmart on a table in the lobby, and the utensils are not individually wrapped. Total turn off. I ordered the pork lo mein with a side of crab rangoons. They did a fantastic job on both, and the portions on the lo mein are always ample. Total with tip was under $20, so affordable as well. Will continue to be my "cheap Chinese fix" location.“
“We reserved a large room at 9 Roses to host our wedding rehearsal lunch. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was attentive. We worked with the owner to come up with a set menu for each table. We loved the caramelized Louisiana catfish! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 9 Roses for a private event!“
“I've been eating here since I was a kid. It is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I always get the combination Lo-mein (no veggies, extra sauce, spicy). It reminds me of being a kid and eating with my family. The family that's owns the restaurant are great and always helpful and they treat regulars like there own family and that is all u can ask for from a great local restaurant. I live on the north shore now but will literally drive an hour just to visit and enjoy the taste of my childhood.“
“This place has some of the best seafood sandwiches you can get very well prepared to your order just the way you like it anyway you like it. They have any items on their menu for all members of the family and it is a very good place to go eat“
“I have been feeding my family once a week for many, many years. I have never been disappointed. Food is always hot in ready in less than 15 minutes, we order multiple plates. Our family favorites are mandarin chicken, general tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken, egg foo young, honey chicken, crab ragoon, cho-cho,Szechuan Shrimp, egg drop soup, beef lomein, egg rolls. We are always full, we have left overs for lunch the next day. The owners feel like family, always nice to touch base with them once a week. We Highly recommend.“
“Doesn't look like much but it is incredible! The spicy tuna was by far my favorite and is one of the best spicy rolls that I've ever had! It was a full piece of tuna that was seasoned rather than a purée mush. The shaggy dog and California roll were really good as well! I'm not sure if I would actually eat there but my to-go order was fresh and relatively fast for a sushi place. 10/10 recommend!“
“We have always dealt with mediocre fairly OK inconsistent Chinese food but we just moved back to Metairie and tried this place and I swear that it is by far the best Chinese food we have ever had! Hot fresh and the egg rolls are awesome! Can't wait to order again!!!?❤???⛩?“
“This place has the best Pho and spring rolls I've had down south so far. I'm originally from Los Angeles so my standards are kind of high. My husband had Mandarin Chicken he said it was all right but he compares everything to China Doll. The staff was polite and attentive. You should definitely go check it out it would be worth the money and time it looks like they have karaoke too. I will be going back again.“
“Came here the other day for lunch. I have a friend receiving treatment at Touro Hospital, just a block away, so I walked over here to get some food. I had the egg drop soup and the Vietnamese chicken salad. The egg drop soup was as good as I have had elsewhere. The chicken salad was good but unusual as it had a lot of celery. Food was ready promptly and easy to call in over the phone. The vast majority of their lunch business is takeout! And they are efficient at it. Recommended. They seem to do the basics without issues at pretty good prices -- nothing special but nothing to complain about either!!!! Very convenient for take out to Touro.“
“This was an amazing find. I was initially looking for a buffet but this is more an a La carte type of restaurant. The portion size was plenty as it could have fed three if not four people depending on your portion. Food came out quickly and food temperature. Even though they were closing within thirty to 49 minutes of me arriving they still served me and was excellent. Highly recommended for a person from out of town.Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“The food is fantastic and always taste very fresh. The service is good, but the kitchen was extremely slow last night. The place cleared out before we got our food and it was packed when we got there. Other than that.... our server is always very nice and the egg rolls are my favorite! They never dissapoint!“
“It's not fancy, but who doesn't love affordable tasty Chinese food for either dine-in or ideally delivery or takeout. Many other cities have places like this all over town but NOLA is a bit lacking - and the high-priced pretentious Chinese joints opening over the past years just aren't great. Ming Garden has reliable, very good Chinese food of both the authentic and decidedly non-authentic variety. General Tso is very good as is Kung Pao and Mongolian Beef. Lo Mein is fine but I've certainly had much better. But for most people this will be one of the better Chinese options in town, definitely give it a try.“
“As a chef, we frequent different restaurant locations China King won me over because they don't cheat on their food my shrimp fried rice had medium-sized shrimp and customer service was a happy experience and very professional!!!! Now this is my new spot fa“
“Came for the first time last night in a hurry. Got shrimp fried rice, and pork egg rolls. Egg rolls were AWESOME. Fried rice came PACKED full for a small, was super full off $14 tip included. Not sure what others are talking about the condiments, they are always on the counter, free, as many as you want. Every sauce they have and no they do not charge for condiments and they are friendly, professional, and the prices are very good for the amount of food you get. It was delicious and already have plans to go back tomorrow night. Ordered online and it was ready before 10 minutes piping hot.“
“I have been coming here since I was in college. Let me tell you the quality and portion size has not changed one bit which I appreciate. I typically get the general tso chicken dinner platter which is like $12 and it comes with the chicken, shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. My food was delicious! I could drink the sauce for the chicken because it’s so good. Since they give you a good amount this usually lasts me a couple of days. Also, the woman that was working the front when I came in was so sweet. Plus I got my food in about 10min or so. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious and affordable Chinese food.Parking: They have a small parking lot that they share with other businesses so sometimes it is a struggle to find parking.“
“TAKE OUT.. extremely friendly and competent; their offerings seem to have a different flavor then all the other restaurants would seem to be from the same cookbook. It's easily accessible from just about anywhere in the Metairie area and if you call ahead and give them enough time you will not have to wait very long.“
“Authentic, delicious food. We've ordered from them several times in the last few months and have always enjoyed it. Don't miss the combo fried rice - yummy! The Szechuan Chicken is very good. I didn't care for the Hot and Sour soup as it was sweet instead of spicy. My husband really liked the ribs as well. We'll definitely keep ordering from them and trying new menu items.“
“If you’re looking for a good place to eat during this awful heat outside, GO HERE. This place was amazing. It had amazing air conditioning inside, enough seats for every person that came in to eat, and the food was amazing. The lady was very kind and the food price was amazing for how good the food is. I got the sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, and noodles and they were DELICIOUS. That whole meal, including a drink, was $11. That’s an amazing price considering now a days most good restaurants charge $20-$30 a person. They had many other menu options as well. The ones I saw were spicy chicken, honey chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, rice, and a lot more.I’m definitely glad I picked this place for dinner and I hope whenever I travel to New Orleans again in the future that I get to go here again.“
“Went in to order a veggie plate with lomein and hot and spicy soup. The service was poor, one of the workers was eating at the bar and talking sooooo loud on her phone, very unprofessional. The other young lady took my order was attentive but not very Friendly. She was on her phone at the bar as well. Though only when customers were not serviced, I'm sure there were other things they could be doing until customers left, especially since it took 30mins for me to get my togo order. No one apologized for the wait or offered me a seat or drink. The hot and spicy soup was not spicy and really thick for my taste. Won't order that again. The veggies and lomein were pretty good and for that, I give 4 stars. They should really work on the service and offer seating if food will take that long to orderI was my 1st time there, not sure if I'll go back yet.“
“Everything you'd expect from a solid Chinese restaurant in New Orleans. They have all the classics and favorites, the sauces are very consistent and the service is always nice. They offer tofu dishes and let me change the sauce for variety. Delivery fee is very affordable, always arrives promptly, and they're good about following delivery instructions. I've never been disappointed, it's my go-to spot in mid city. The general tso and orange sauce is on point!Vegetarian options: Consistently good fried tofu. I get the general tso tofu and I'm happy every time.Dietary restrictions: Enough vegetarian and pescetarian options to get dinner for the entire group.Parking: There are very limited parking spots on the street, some people park in the smoothie king lot but it gets really congested with people who don't know how to park.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get inside, just an incline. There's a narrow hallway up to the counter.“
“I have to order the greatest crunchy wings, which are always hot and fresh, whenever I visit NOLA. I once had a cordial encounter with one of the owners and asked him how they managed to make the chicken so crunchy. He claimed that the sort of flour and grease—without giving any brand names—are what makes anything delicious.“
“Great out of the way home in the wall chineas food restaurant. I have seen several times and always wondered about this place. Today was the day, I walk in and it was like a ghost town with one employee in the back. I smelled some wonderful aromas and heard the clank of metal spatula and a wok on the background. This place might be a hidden gem. I looked menu and then decide on the Triple delight, shrimp chicken and beef with broccoli and white rice on the side. It was very fresh tasting, and just enough saltiness not over powering. I really enjoyed the sauce the chicken was tender as was the shrimp and beef. The broccoli had a good snap to it still so it wasn't over cooked. I got some soy sauce but that was the only part that wasn't great not sure why but it wasn't the soy sauce flavor I was used to very bland. I have my own bottle at home for leftovers. So thanks for a great lunch. Thanks to the China King“
“Ill start off by saying the parking is honestly janky, and its also very awkward where you go to stand outside by a window to pick up your order. I didn't want to dock too much because it would be unfair to the owners since i didnt dine in. As for the food, i got the orange chicken, crispy duck, and the crab rangoons. As for the crispy duck, tbh, ive had so much better for cheaper. But the star of the show - the orange chicken. Wow. I have never had a more delicious orange chicken in my life. Flavourful, declious, i HIGHLY recommend gettign the orange chicken. The cran rangoon as well was very very nice. For 45$, i bought it for 3 adults and there was enough leftovers for a 4th person to eat as well. My recommendation is to get the orange chicken, absolutely stunning and will definitely be back for more of it!“
