“I was recommended this place by a friend because I wanted some mei fun but after looking through the menu I was sold with the lo mein and honey chicken. It did come with a egg roll and it was all so hot and fresh! The egg roll was a bit oily But I was pretty impressed with the food because you really can't trust everybody seasoning. It came up $14“
“So happy we tried this restaurant. Three of us shared a variety of dishes and all were full of flavor, we could not stop exclaiming over the food. We sampled both the raw and cooked seafood and the egg cloud soup was delightful. Wine offerings added to our experience.“
“Ok ok ok… my second time here within 3 days! And I am now eating something different, the menu is worth exploring! I don’t feel like I am in belle chasse when I’m eating here. The interior design was done with class and fun! This place is great!Kid-friendliness: I’d definitely bring my daughter. They also have seating accommodations for babies!“
“This place is Comfortable! It has warm & cozy vibes & just feels like home ... This is one of the remaining few places in the French Quarter where staff is Super friendly, & never ever stressy or rushed. You can eat here in peace, and taste your food, surrounded by the pleasant environment. It is a perfect location, Located right in the Heart of The Vampire District of Lower Decatur. & I come here in Full make-up & Dressed All in black for Goth and 80's Dancing right next door, and dress code here is never a problem. The VALUE at Zhang is its shining star... Refreshing Exotic and Unusual Ginger Drinks, and Stimulating Red Curry ... I always leave Fulfilled, & on soo many Levels ...“
“I just had my food delivered by Uber Eats,,, I can't say anything bad about the food ...it was tasty. However I will dine in the next time, I didn't get anything to eat my food with and I ordered soup along with other items, so no spoon or fork..no napkins...etc. even so my food was good!“
“Who knew the best california roll I ever eaten in my life was 20 minutes away from my front door? The garlic salmon was so good too. 2 ice cold Abita's and a great waiter made for the best night i could have ever asked for. Schwarzenegger voice, "I'll be back... for more Sushi." ?“
“My favorite cheap Chinese take out spot in Nola. Sketchy parking lot, full of “local flavor”! Take your food and run away! I always order before I pick up, get in and get out! It’s a legit American version Chinese food place. Not cuisine, but still very good. I get Kung Pao chicken a lot and I am always happy with the what they serve up.They always have the food ready when I arrive. If you’re looking for a new drug dealer, out front is a great spot to find a hook up.I feel a little bad for the people working here because they’re fairly pleasant considering how much street hassle they probably have to deal with everyday.Good place to go if you’re bored and want to appreciate how chill your life is!“
“When you walk into a place and there is a lady behind the counter making scratch dumplings, you know it has the chance to be legit. This place did not disappoint. Wings amazing. Spicy dumplings, fire ? and good. Also got the spicy chicken and white rice. When finished, my sinuses were clear.Would definitely recommend this place.“
“I grew up in NYC loving the food in Chinatown, so when a local friend suggested we have lunch at Hong Minh in nearby Harvey, I thought "oh no, suburban Chinese food... blah." I quickly shed my preconceptions once food started arriving at our barebones table in a plain-Jane dining room in this nondescript strip mall. Dang! This is easily up there with the best Chinese food you'll find anywhere in the country. Highlights include BBQ pork, roasted duck, salt & pepper string beans and Singapore mei fun. I asked one of the owners who was taking a break from hacking up roast ducks what part of China they were from and he said "Hong Kong and Taiwan, NOT China." Take that, China and preconceptions!“
“I live in the neighborhood with my two daughters and we visit here pretty often. The couple who runs this place is very sweet & kind. This is the only place near here that I order fried food from because it always tastes like fresh grease. You know how sometimes you go to a place and order a shrimp po boy but you can taste all the chicken and fish that’s been fried in the same grease? Well the reason I love this place so much is that the grease always, always, ALWAYS tastes like your food was the only thing fried in it. It’s very clean. The couple has been watching my kids grow up (they were in elementary school when I first moved here and are headed to high school now) and always have the nicest things to say to us. The fried rice is very high quality. The seafood is seasoned like a black great uncle with Jesus sandals boiled it. (That’s gonna make sense to some of you lol) There’s an adult male who works sometimes who I’ve assumed is their son. He’s pretty easy on the eyes and doesn’t talk much, but I don’t see him too often. Upon exiting, make sure to PULL. Despite there being a sign that says ‘pull’ you’re gonna wanna push based on the way the door looks. That door has checked me plenty times lolKid-friendliness: My kids love coming here. The couple is very kind and will entertain two tweens talking their ears off about things that I’m sure they do not care about lol. But they will pretend to be so into every word anyway and it warms my heart. They always want to stop here for ice cream and chat with the couple“

“My first time here; as soon as I walked in, I was in love with the place. I see too many of these little “take out only” Chinese restaurants that are lit by fluorescent lighting ? and when I walked inside Empress of China, I knew I loved it. It was not bright inside, and Chinese mysic played softly in the background. So, immediately 10/10 for the atmosphere. The service was outstanding! The server got to me quickly, very attentive, friendly, git everything right. The tables were all clean, and had a young man who took care of that immediately after the customers left and cleaned the table thoroughly.I ordered the Mandarin Chicken. This is my “comfort food” at any Chinese restaurant. For those who don’t know this dish, it is boneless chicken (breast meat or thigh meat), breaded and deep fried… laid out onto a bed of lettuce, topped with brown sauce, and served with fried rice and your choice of egg roll, two veg spring rolls, crab rangoon, or chu chu (I think that’s mirliton but I’m not sure). There was A LOT OF FOOD. They do not skimp on portions. Everything was great, except for the brown sauce. This one had cumin in it (I think it was cumin, it could have been another spice) and it really kind of ruined the flavor for me. I like cumin, but not really with that sauce. My only gripe… everything else was delicious, and next time I go I’ll get something else. I’m definitely going back, even though it is way out of the way for me.I took lots of pictures, check them out. The place is just really nice on the inside… how a Chinese restaurant is supposed to be. Very relaxing. ?“
“The shrimp fried rice was amazing. The sesame chicken sauce was just as good. But I wasn’t a fan of the meat itself. Weird taste. But that’s not my problem. My problem is them not taking debit/credit cards. It’s 2023 I hardly ever carry cash. I was hungry and had my mind set on this place so I had to go to an ATM. Adding extra time and wasting gas. But overall. Everything else was great. I really did enjoy the Rice.“
“Hernando and the manager Sean were great hosts! The food was absolutely fantastic too. I got the pepper steak and the sauce, steak, peppers, and onion had real amazing flavor when eaten together. For dessert my wife and I shared the wall of chocolate which was a very impressive slice of chocolate cake that was as delectable as a warm chocolate brownie. And it being served with the strawberries and blueberries was perfect. My wife and I were dipping the fruit in the warm semi melted chocolate frosting and it really made for a great taste.“
“I love the mei fun, ( noodles) scallops, & fried chicken wings, there are many other meals I really like, I prefer noodles, over rice.you choose! The people are friendly & aim to satisfy their customers. Normally you can sit & eat there.they serve takeout orders since Covid 19 .I went for some delicious mafun & chicken today ,& yummy ? i like this place food better than CHINA DOLL.10/03/23 Another trip I felt like eating Vegetable Mei fun & an order of chicken wings W/ Shrimp Fried rice.10/15/23I had a taste for my usual vegetarian mei fun & chicken wings & fried rice. I usually stick w/ what I love & am comfortable with. & yes the do have a vegetarian menu.Sunday 11/5/23 I went to Hong Kong Kitchen Marrero today. Before Covid you could dine in, Since Covid it is TakeOut only . I tried House Mei Fun ( No Salt W/ shrimps & Pork) ❤️ & a PauPau platter.Vegetarian options: You can Request, NO SALT, LIGHT SALT, OR MSG, certain meats, or seafoods .Dietary restrictions: I have been coming here a few years & I , you, can get food steamed, veggies, and request certain ingredients to be left out. more or less is up to meParking: There are multiple businesses there it's in a strip mallKid-friendliness: When eating in,You can request a high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: Strip malls have wheelchair accessible areas to enter businesses.“
“Pretty good. Fresh taste not nearly as salty as others. Egg roll is homemade loaded with shrimp and pork. Purchased My "standard" curry chicken, extra hot. As a chilly head I rate it mild. Portion size is huge IMO. The only negative thing was the egg roll was packed inside the package and not separate. When the takeout box leaned the sauce for the main dish soaked the egg roll. But the egg roll was...still good.. just mushy on the outside.“
“Now you can’t complain solely about the food due to the price and the portion! I appreciate the fact the food is always hot, fresh and deliciously prepared quickly! I have ordered here numerous times and the only thing I could say is that the rice is always too hard and too much ?. I always substitute shrimp fried rice for my combination plates and a shrimp egg roll in place of the original. I also wonder why it’s never that real shrimp fried rice either like with the fried eggs mixed in it ??? lol, but I usually wind up throwing half of my plate away due to it being the hard imitation fried rice. Overall I like them a lot and they always taste ? good. I recommend the wontons crab Rangoon fresh fresh! Omg ? they are so delicious! I always order the shrimp and broccoli with shrimp fried rice and shrimp and lobster sauce for my boyfriend!“
“I must admit, I was extremely skeptical of this place when I first entered as a food delivery driver. Upon entering the delicious smell of Chinese food hit my nose and I was hooked. I knew I had to try it. Well tonight was the night and IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They have the best egg rolls I've ever had. Get the shrimp egg roll! They are all handmade and the quality of the food and service is absolutely stellar.“
“Kind of a hole in the wall spot, but the food was good. I had the sweet n sour chicken. It was the battered fried chicken nuggets with the orange colored sauce, not the fried chicken thighs cut into pieces with the red sauce that I prefer. My wife had the schezsuan beef...I wanted that after tasting hers?.Overall, we enjoyed the food, and there was easily enough on the plate for 3 meals...and I can eat a lot!“
“We reserved a large room at 9 Roses to host our wedding rehearsal lunch. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was attentive. We worked with the owner to come up with a set menu for each table. We loved the caramelized Louisiana catfish! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 9 Roses for a private event!“
“I've been eating here since I was a kid. It is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I always get the combination Lo-mein (no veggies, extra sauce, spicy). It reminds me of being a kid and eating with my family. The family that's owns the restaurant are great and always helpful and they treat regulars like there own family and that is all u can ask for from a great local restaurant. I live on the north shore now but will literally drive an hour just to visit and enjoy the taste of my childhood.“
“I have enjoyed this restaurant multiple times. This review is on a Friday lunch visit. Ambiance is non-existent for this to-go restaurant, but that's to be expected. The food is definitely fresher than the decor. However, staff is always polite and check out is quick. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the to go utensils and sauces are stored in plastic containers like you would buy at Walmart on a table in the lobby, and the utensils are not individually wrapped. Total turn off. I ordered the pork lo mein with a side of crab rangoons. They did a fantastic job on both, and the portions on the lo mein are always ample. Total with tip was under $20, so affordable as well. Will continue to be my "cheap Chinese fix" location.“
“Great food And i personally would recommend the salt and pepper calimari. The service was great it was abit busy on the day we went as it was ash wednesday but they where still extremely kind and on the friday we went the service was even better as there was less people. However it is a bit dirty there.“
“This place has the best Pho and spring rolls I've had down south so far. I'm originally from Los Angeles so my standards are kind of high. My husband had Mandarin Chicken he said it was all right but he compares everything to China Doll. The staff was polite and attentive. You should definitely go check it out it would be worth the money and time it looks like they have karaoke too. I will be going back again.“
“Doesn't look like much but it is incredible! The spicy tuna was by far my favorite and is one of the best spicy rolls that I've ever had! It was a full piece of tuna that was seasoned rather than a purée mush. The shaggy dog and California roll were really good as well! I'm not sure if I would actually eat there but my to-go order was fresh and relatively fast for a sushi place. 10/10 recommend!“
“Came here the other day for lunch. I have a friend receiving treatment at Touro Hospital, just a block away, so I walked over here to get some food. I had the egg drop soup and the Vietnamese chicken salad. The egg drop soup was as good as I have had elsewhere. The chicken salad was good but unusual as it had a lot of celery. Food was ready promptly and easy to call in over the phone. The vast majority of their lunch business is takeout! And they are efficient at it. Recommended. They seem to do the basics without issues at pretty good prices -- nothing special but nothing to complain about either!!!! Very convenient for take out to Touro.“
“This was an amazing find. I was initially looking for a buffet but this is more an a La carte type of restaurant. The portion size was plenty as it could have fed three if not four people depending on your portion. Food came out quickly and food temperature. Even though they were closing within thirty to 49 minutes of me arriving they still served me and was excellent. Highly recommended for a person from out of town.Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“As a chef, we frequent different restaurant locations China King won me over because they don't cheat on their food my shrimp fried rice had medium-sized shrimp and customer service was a happy experience and very professional!!!! Now this is my new spot fa“
“The food is fantastic and always taste very fresh. The service is good, but the kitchen was extremely slow last night. The place cleared out before we got our food and it was packed when we got there. Other than that.... our server is always very nice and the egg rolls are my favorite! They never dissapoint!“
“It's not fancy, but who doesn't love affordable tasty Chinese food for either dine-in or ideally delivery or takeout. Many other cities have places like this all over town but NOLA is a bit lacking - and the high-priced pretentious Chinese joints opening over the past years just aren't great. Ming Garden has reliable, very good Chinese food of both the authentic and decidedly non-authentic variety. General Tso is very good as is Kung Pao and Mongolian Beef. Lo Mein is fine but I've certainly had much better. But for most people this will be one of the better Chinese options in town, definitely give it a try.“
“I have been coming here since I was in college. Let me tell you the quality and portion size has not changed one bit which I appreciate. I typically get the general tso chicken dinner platter which is like $12 and it comes with the chicken, shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. My food was delicious! I could drink the sauce for the chicken because it’s so good. Since they give you a good amount this usually lasts me a couple of days. Also, the woman that was working the front when I came in was so sweet. Plus I got my food in about 10min or so. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious and affordable Chinese food.Parking: They have a small parking lot that they share with other businesses so sometimes it is a struggle to find parking.“
“Stopped in at the "new " location; had been too impatient to wait out the old. Very basic menu, as you see elsewhere on Yelp. Tradional no nonsense Asian couner person. At the last second, changed my order to Buffalo style, fried rice on the side. My mistake; wings were soggy/sloppy upon getting home. A lesson from the great Stoic philosophers- stick with your initial plan. I hope you were not expecting Uncle Roger's fried rice; this was a few coin-sized shrimp and soy sauce. I could eat a bucket of white rice with soy, so okay by me. In the end, if you think you will like this, you likely will.“
“This place has some of the best seafood sandwiches you can get very well prepared to your order just the way you like it anyway you like it. They have any items on their menu for all members of the family and it is a very good place to go eat“
“No pictures this time I was too hungry. I ordered beef and broccoli with pork fried rice. I ended up with shrimp and broccoli. This order was "to go " so didn't realize till I got home what I got. In any event the food from is really good.“
“TAKE OUT.. extremely friendly and competent; their offerings seem to have a different flavor then all the other restaurants would seem to be from the same cookbook. It's easily accessible from just about anywhere in the Metairie area and if you call ahead and give them enough time you will not have to wait very long.“
“Delicious! We got a to-go order. All of the food was fresh and hot and delicious! AND it was ready quick so we didn’t have to wait long. Egg rolls were great! Crab Rangoon was delicious! Shrimp and lobster sauce was awesome! The sauce was great and had lots of shrimp! Spare ribs were delicious! Everything was good! Highly recommend! We will definitely be eating there again!“
“Good food.We prefer buffet for a variety and getting enough to eat.My wife and I ordered different items and shared them for variety. When we were both full, we had a little leftover, so overall, we would recommend China Moon. If traveling through the area again, we may stop by there again.“
“Hot Wok is good. It is take out only. There is no dining room, no tables, just the counter and the staff working beyond. It is a typical Chinese menu and food. We got spring rolls and egg rolls, both were hot and good. I got General 's Chicken. It was well done, not the best I've ever had though. It is spicy. ? My other half got beef & broccoli & loved it. It was quick and easy to order online and go pick it up. We will eat there again. ?“
“This was our first time and we were very pleased. We lost a favorite place during covid and couldn't find another place that had some dishes that were kinda unique but they have them and they were very yummy. They will be one of our favorites from now on.“
“If you’re looking for a good place to eat during this awful heat outside, GO HERE. This place was amazing. It had amazing air conditioning inside, enough seats for every person that came in to eat, and the food was amazing. The lady was very kind and the food price was amazing for how good the food is. I got the sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, and noodles and they were DELICIOUS. That whole meal, including a drink, was $11. That’s an amazing price considering now a days most good restaurants charge $20-$30 a person. They had many other menu options as well. The ones I saw were spicy chicken, honey chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, rice, and a lot more.I’m definitely glad I picked this place for dinner and I hope whenever I travel to New Orleans again in the future that I get to go here again.“
“By far one of the best Chicken & Rice Plates I had in a very long time. The rice was amazing and the chicken was crispy and flavorful. The area is a bit sketchy. It’s basically in the middle ofNowhere but I don’t regret taking that ride. I’ll be back!“
“Everything you'd expect from a solid Chinese restaurant in New Orleans. They have all the classics and favorites, the sauces are very consistent and the service is always nice. They offer tofu dishes and let me change the sauce for variety. Delivery fee is very affordable, always arrives promptly, and they're good about following delivery instructions. I've never been disappointed, it's my go-to spot in mid city. The general tso and orange sauce is on point!Vegetarian options: Consistently good fried tofu. I get the general tso tofu and I'm happy every time.Dietary restrictions: Enough vegetarian and pescetarian options to get dinner for the entire group.Parking: There are very limited parking spots on the street, some people park in the smoothie king lot but it gets really congested with people who don't know how to park.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get inside, just an incline. There's a narrow hallway up to the counter.“
“Went in to order a veggie plate with lomein and hot and spicy soup. The service was poor, one of the workers was eating at the bar and talking sooooo loud on her phone, very unprofessional. The other young lady took my order was attentive but not very Friendly. She was on her phone at the bar as well. Though only when customers were not serviced, I'm sure there were other things they could be doing until customers left, especially since it took 30mins for me to get my togo order. No one apologized for the wait or offered me a seat or drink. The hot and spicy soup was not spicy and really thick for my taste. Won't order that again. The veggies and lomein were pretty good and for that, I give 4 stars. They should really work on the service and offer seating if food will take that long to orderI was my 1st time there, not sure if I'll go back yet.“
“Edit: as of July 16th 2023 still closed :(Super good. Good service. Always nice. But haven’t been open in weeks. There’s been a sign on the door for 3 weeks or maybe more that says 8/8/23 to 8/8/15. Idk what that means, I was there before the 23rd of July and it was closed. And then says closed for vacation. I hope they open back up soon because they are good but have tried to go many times and the sign is still up and a few months ago had to same thing. Very confusing as it says open online and the phone still rings and voicemail said open with the hours so have drove there for nothing.“
“A lil while I’m the wall Chinese store but I must say there food is good for a decent price. My favorite is the shrimp and veggies w/ shrimp fried rice their brown sauce in good and the customer service is good had a mix up with my order and they corrected it with any fuss which is why I gave them four start but dining area is very small but great take out food“
“An unexpected wow. Great food service and atmosphere. I met a friend in the area to talk business . we arrived before the dinner crowd. We ordered each a bowl of soup and some egg rolls as appetizers . My associate had the Hot sour soap . I had the wanton. Before my soup arrived I saw one of the ladies at a table making the wontons from scratch. I admired her technique. She convinced me to order two different types of dumplings she made from scratch as well. All was top notch. I never write reviews . These people deserve credit for an excellent meal . K Wagner Brusly Louisiana“
“Great out of the way home in the wall chineas food restaurant. I have seen several times and always wondered about this place. Today was the day, I walk in and it was like a ghost town with one employee in the back. I smelled some wonderful aromas and heard the clank of metal spatula and a wok on the background. This place might be a hidden gem. I looked menu and then decide on the Triple delight, shrimp chicken and beef with broccoli and white rice on the side. It was very fresh tasting, and just enough saltiness not over powering. I really enjoyed the sauce the chicken was tender as was the shrimp and beef. The broccoli had a good snap to it still so it wasn't over cooked. I got some soy sauce but that was the only part that wasn't great not sure why but it wasn't the soy sauce flavor I was used to very bland. I have my own bottle at home for leftovers. So thanks for a great lunch. Thanks to the China King“
“OMG legit dim sum. Haven't had anything even approximating this outside of the places I've been to in Chicago's Chinatown. But this is a test of self control. We got there early and when they started rolling out the carts it was almost overwhelming. Being 1 of only 2 tables at the time, we were suddenly bombarded with a line of carts with way too much food that all looked way too good. We kept it to about 6 dishes and had enough to take home. Everything we tried was good, and so many options. I couldn't tell you how much the individual dishes cost, but we pigged out and paid $20/person. Obviously the more or higher end the dishes, the more you'll pay. The buffet is next door if that's what you want. As is dim sum is weekend only(like most places), and worth the trip to the west bank.“
