“Being from the Metropolitan Detroit area, im used to some of the best mediterranean food outside of the area, but Shaya was on another level. Every dish we tried was amazing, with our favorite being the lamb ragu. It's definitely a must-have if in the New Orleans area!!“
“I went fearful of what I could find, I was looking for Mexican food and I found this oasis, I'm from Houston Tx and never thought I would find the best birria at this place, service was excellent and price very affordable, ambiance was excellent, the place is super nice.“
“Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing Olive, a new dining establishment nestled in the heart of NOLA at 339 Carondelet St. My visit left me thoroughly impressed by the culinary delights, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance. The food surpassed all expectations; I indulged in the falafel platter paired with two sides, and relished stuffed grape leaves also accompanied by two sides. Each dish was executed flawlessly, boasting impeccable flavors and textures. The service was exemplary. Our waiter exhibited attentiveness and warmth, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. His insightful recommendations enhanced our culinary journey. The atmosphere exuded a cozy charm, fostering an intimate dining environment that enhanced the overall experience. In sum, my time at Olive was nothing short of delightful. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment to anyone seeking a delectable meal coupled with unparalleled hospitality.Vegetarian options: I was thoroughly impressed by the array of vegetarian choices at the Olive at 339 Carondelet St, New Orleans LA. Opting for the falafel platter accompanied by two sides, alongside stuffed grape leaves also served with two sides, I found each dish cooked impeccably. The vegetables boasted freshness and rich flavor, while the sauce offered a delicate creaminess. I wholeheartedly recommend [restaurant name] to fellow vegetarians; not only is the food delightful, but the service is outstanding, and the ambiance inviting. I am eagerly looking forward to returning soon!“
“My husband and I went to Saba for brunch after multiple recommendations from friends and strangers. Wow… it was absolutely delicious. Some of our favorites were the variety of sodas, crab hummus, eggplant dip and fried chicken. I can’t wait to come back for the pancakes! Our waitress (I wish I remember her name … she had pink hair) was incredibly kind. So thank you to her for the hospitality and other suggestions while we are in town. We will be back!“
“Phenomenal, flavorful Mediterranean food in relaxed environment!Ordered the Falafel Feast with chicken & french fries. The reviews you read are not exaggerated.Everything was so fresh and delicious -- from the focaccia bread to the babaganuj to the salad to the grilled chicken. This restaurant deserves awards!!** Picture of empty plate for reference (yes, the 2 of us ate it ALL **“
“I’m not really a big fan of Mediterranean cuisines, but this place is so authentic that I keep wanting to come back. I love how they provide huge portions of complimentary bread before your meal and pair it with pickled veggies. I ordered the fried kibby, lamb chops, chicken tikka, and beef shawarma. The portions are ginormous and definitely worth the price!!! You can tell everything is homemade, and my favorite is the hummus! It’s soooo good!!!! What made my dining experience even better was the service. Our waiter was phenomenal. Very attentive and accommodating to our requests!“
“Overall, it was great. The food was good. The server was trying really hard to provide the best service, but I guess it was the first day of her job. Our party was big. We left with good tip, great 5 star reviews, and happyI will visit again once the carpet and sitting is cleaned.“
“This place is AMAZING! I ordered 2 bowls with lemon chicken, seasoned rice, feta, Kalamata olives, cucumber tomato salad, red onions, topped with garlic green beans and finished with delicious Tzatziki sauce and a little salt and pepper, man oh man was it delicious! My sister (to whom the second bowl was for) and I have found our new favorite place, I’d give more stars if I could. If you’re looking to try something new, or just looking for some good Mediterranean food try The Simple Mediterranean, you’ll thank me later.“
“Do you miss your favorite aunt and uncle? The ones who always have delicious food on the stove, time to listen to your celebrations and sorrows, and offer uplifting advice and encouragement over a cup of tea? From the moment I made reservations, I felt like a family member.Jamila's food was homey and comforting. The service was something I will remember for years to come. Everything at Jamila's is done with love. I can not recommend highly enough!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian couscous, several appetizers and dessertsDietary restrictions: I have multiple food restrictions, and each one was accommodated and respected(gf, df, alpha-gal)“
“I ordered the kebab platter. The tahini sauce tasted better than any tahini sauce I have tasted. The Greek salad had very fresh lettuce considering it’s a Sunday night when most restaurants serve slightly wilted lettuce. The hamburger shaped kebabs topped with small sticks of pickles and very thinly sliced onions. When dipped it in the garlic sauce, it was delicious. Now that I think about it I wish I would’ve asked for a spoon so I could have gotten more good rice in my mouth. I wanted something light and filling, and I sure got it. I was totally satisfied when I left the place. It was very clean and appealing and the help was very friendly. When I leave Houston to come visit my sister, Shawarma on the Run will definitely be a stop for us.“
“So I have to say I went to eat here last night and I was here probably 2 weeks prior but last night wasn't quite as fresh as the first time I was there. I mean don't get me wrong, the food is still really good but I guess my expectations were a little higher because of my first experience... Nonetheless I would still recommend this place because the food is good and the service is great and they tend to be open a little later than a lot of other places so I'll definitely come back but just keep an eye on the quality of some things.Parking: Normally there is adequate parking but last night was really crowded and it was a little difficult to get a spot.“
“The food is INSANELY good. We had the lamb chops and the Middle eastern paella, best cooked lamb I have had in a while, crispy and charred on the outside and perfectly soft and seasoned on the inside. The paella with the saffron rice was so flavorful. I don't know what spice combinations were included but it was very balanced. The rice that was added to our order came out a little slow but besides that our orders came out quite quickly and staff was attentive. Be aware, the menu options are limited but probably a sign that every dish is made with care and attention. Will be coming back.“
“I'm a huge fan of gyros. This was the first time I have been to this location. They pros: quick service. I waited under 10 minutes for my plate. Large portions versus cost. They packed my plate and it wasn't just rice as filler. Cons: The taste was what you'd expect of gyro meat. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't wow'd either. I would not recommend the spinach pie. It wasn't traditional. Decent taste but not the real thing.“
“The food is amazing! Waitstaff are the kindest, most caring bunch. They'll make you feel like family! They serve all foodie types! We eat here 1x a month, if not more..Place a to go order, and go next door to the grocery store to pick up the eccentals, then grab your food on your way out!“
“The BEST (maybe only?) vegetarian muffuletta you'll get in the French Quarter. It's awesome but so are their other offerings. It does take a few minutes for the food, as they make everything too order but is so worth the wait.Vegetarian options: The muffuletta all the way!“
“I’ve been trying Greek fox a lot lately and this little gem did not disappoint. The lady was patient with me because I’m new to Mediterranean. I love that fact you can dress you gyro with your choice of toppings. Food was fresh and delicious“
“Saif was our server and Julie was the bartender. very hospitable. food came out fast and oh was it delicious! get the fries. they are seasoned. just regular is perfect. my mom always come get the wings and they never fail. crispy wings.Parking: more parking in the back. they do share the lot with buffalo wild wings customersWheelchair accessibility: ramp outside and elevator to get to the second floor“
“The food here is excellent. I had white fish Moroccan style and my husband had the lamb ragu. Both dishes were amazing. It was a stormy weather day and we went early so it was a lovely peaceful dinner. I would definitely go back when we visit New Orleans again. Thanks to Sam for great service as well.“
“What an authentic JEWEL!!!We had 8 people with hungry appetites and this restaurant was perfect. If you love fresh and delicious food, go ahead and try the gyro plate, so good. A bunch of our crew had the chicken shawarma, and they loved it. I'm still not totally sure what was in the rice, but it was cooked and seasoned to perfection.Really accommodating and just a pleasure to sit and enjoy authentic, fresh, and perfectly seasoned food.I really wish I had taken a picture, but I just dug right in.Kid-friendliness: Our server was very patient with our youngest son who really just wanted some chicken, and she made it happen. Great job!“
“The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. The swarma plate is huge and comes with very tasty rice and a salad. The meat is seasoned well and the salad dressing was wonderful. Not enough pita bread so order extra. One thing though... the Baba Ganou does not come with pita bread. You have to order that separately. Ask for some extra pita bread and you'll be fine!“
“I very much enjoyed my lunch at tazikis. I got a gyro and some chips and a drink. It was a little pricey for a quick lunch but it was super yummy and fresh and different from other options on Metairie Rd. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I will be back next time over this way.“
“Honestly my favorite place to eat. I always get the chicken Shwarma bowl. I love the Falafels so so so much! The stuffed grape leaves are so refreshing. Everything is good, I'd eat here every day if I could! My daughter can't get enough of the loaded fries as well, and I'm always sneaking some lol. That tatziki sauce is to die for. I wish I could buy it in a gallon lol“
