“We work nearby and LOVE this place. Family owned and operated by the finest people you'll ever meet, and that shows in the food. I have tried about half of the menu so far, and I'm yet to be disappointed. They have tasty and affordable daily specials M-Th, like red and white beans, meatballs and spaghetti, and maybe the best meatloaf I've ever had on Tuesdays. Chef Don is also well-known for his pastries, and so the cooler is always stocked with something freshly baked. If you are in the neighborhood, Shaytigg's is a must-try. You'll find it tucked into the corner among a strip of other businesses, to the left of the Downman Center gas station. Just look for the big sign on the building.“
“The Italian salad is full of flavor and is obviously a huge favorite, as we saw several tables that ordered this salad. It's only for those who love their salad absolutely drenched in Italian dressing. The lettuce and other veggies are literally swimming in the dressing, and most of the lettuce gets a bit soggy even when it's first brought to you. The roast beef po-boy is very good. Bread is phenomenal, but the beef is a bit too salty. Service was good with a reasonable pace and speed. Ambiance is extremely casual and family friendly, so it's a very relaxing and fun place to hang out and enjoy a meal. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are large for most items.“

“This was my first time having Mofongo it was pretty good. I had it with shrimp. The service was outstanding because I don’t eat pork the individual making my food ensured there would be no pork. Outside seating over all pretty good atmosphere.“
“The food is REALLY GOOD, the atmosphere was homey and the service staff was awesome. I was $1.00 dollar short on cash to pay and was going to use my debit card but the cashier put up the dollar and refused to let me bring it back; she told me she was happy to do it and do not block her blessings. Truly appreciative of what she did and plan to go back. Everyone was friendly.“
“The Chamber of Horrors is my absolute favorite sandwich ever! It's just a cold sandwich stacked with sliced meats and cheese and lettuce, tomato, etc. but it strikes a chord with me. Every time I go I tell myself to try something different but most times I wind up getting one. And a side of fries. I have tried other things and have never found anything to complain about. Koz's is a great example of the neighborhood restaurants that are scattered throughout New Orleans and the area. Place has been there forever. The family is running the business. He has passed away, but Koz himself was running the cash register every time I went there. Same crowd of regulars and locals is in there every day. A wide variety of menu items, daily specials, plate lunches, po-boys, fried seafood, and all that. Not all of it is good, but for the most part it is. Downsides - the place is old so it is a little dark and dingy. It gets crowded at times and then the service gets slow. The parking is scarce around but you can usually find a spot. Give them a shot. This is one place that I keep going back to. (If I want a Chamber of Horrors I do!)“
