By far our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Incredible food, laid back atmosphere, super winelist, great atmosphere. A unique experience with superior quality. We're total foodies and also went to Gianna and Sun Chong which were also good but Cochon far surpassed our expectations and our expectations were high.

We were a bit disappointed as we had expected a more elevated food experience as we heard the chef was notable. The gumbo came luke warm and was a bit bland. The rolls that came with the gumbo were wonderful. The tops were finished to perfection. Our entre was their cochon. It was moist and tasty but nothing special. The rest of the dish was not memorable.

After a day of walking around the WW2 museum, we came here to eat. Got a seat really quick--staff friendly and restaurant has a nice clean look. Small menu.. The had the fried Gator and found them tasty. Wife had the pork belly=super tasty. Son had the gumbo=okay . Got very busy as the evening went on. Overall, a nice experience

We came here for the boudin and the fried alligator. Also had a beer. But of a walk from the French quarter. Restaurant is very nice. Food was okay.

It’s fine. I think a bit overrated. Staff is professional and restaurant is clean. Gumbo is horrible. Blondie was good, oyster sandwich was huge and included pickled green tomatoes. The cochon was good but it is smoked pulled pork over green beans. A lot of this food can be made by a savvy cook with a smoker so might not be worth it for someone who cooks often and well.

This spot offers delicious Cajun food in a pleasant informal space. We started with the pork belly and the gumbo which were both interesting and very tasty. Our mains were the Louisiana Cochon, and the Rabbit and dumplings. They were awesome.

I have been to Cochon Grocer (Cochon's sandwich shop) many times over the years, but I've only been to Cochon once and once was enough to convince me that this is one of the best restaurants in the city. The ambiance here is inviting and it's quite cozy inside. The service we had was great and our food was absolutely delicious! We had a variety of dishes (fried alligator, Louisiana cochon, and rabbit stew) and each was more flavorful than the last. It was truly a gastronomic experience and we'd dine here again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely the best food we have had on a cross country trip from Florida to Colorado. We had the Rabbit & Biscuits, Cochon (pulled pork), and Catfish Courtbouillon - all were excellent. Exquisite flavors in every bite. Service was friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Overall highly recommended

Cochon was our first dinner restaurant choice, when my friend and I arrived to New Orleans. The food and drink definitely did not disappoint. I had made a Sunday 7:45 Resey reservations for 2. When we arrive, we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant doesn't appear to be big but as we walked through it, the place is huge. For a Sunday night it was bustling with large groups. My only comment was that the service was poor. I was wanting a cocktail to start after a hectic travel day. After being seated we waited a good 20 minutes before our server came over to our table. We ordered cocktails that took another long wait. The table of 2 that was seated next to us after we sat, got their order taken and cocktails way before us. Finally our cocktails arrived and we placed our order of: Wood Fired Oysters with Chili Garlic Butter, Slow Roasted Pork Belly, Grilled Shrimp with Chow Chow, Chaurice Sausage and the Chili Dusted Cracklins. I took note that the table next to us also got a basket of rolls even before any of their dishes came out. Again I had to try to hail down our server to ask for bread when out Oysters arrived. Seems our sever was more interested in servicing the large party groups rather than us. All the dishes we ordered were delicious, came out hot and fresh. Again, I would come try again for the food and drinks only. Atmosphere: Simple and nice, very open. Food: very good. Service: poor

Highly recommend fried oyster/bacon sandwich, braised collard greens (best thing I ate in NOLA) and grilled shrimp with chow chow.

Yesterday night, we celebrated my husband's 50 Birthday at Cochon! We had a semi private loft space for 21 adults and our 6 year old neice. As expected, the food was fantastic. For those who don't know, Cochon does EVERYTHING RIGHT! We had a family style, 4 course meal that they pre-arranged. The quantity of food delivered to us was unbelievable. By the time we hit the 3rd course, we were ready for a break. But then they brought the dessert boards and the blondie with the pumpkin ice cream was spectacular and couldn't be passed over! We even ordered the bday cake from their bakery and it was the best chocolate cake I have ever had. But there was something even better than the food... the staff. Louis was our head waiter. We had 2 managers checking on us as well as a host of other servers. My son has a severe peanut allergy and we forgot to ask about their oil in advance. That was OUR fault and something we don't normally forget. So when we got to the restaurant, we asked and were warned to watch for any fried food. But the rest was safe for my 17 year old son. And they would watch his food prep especially. And that they did! Unfortunately, right before he had to give his speech for his dad, he began to faint. Not only did our family swoop in but so did the staff. The hovered and stood by ready to do anything we needed. This was not food related. What they didn't know also is that my son is also a childhood cancer survivor so we are very careful w him. By the time my son came to and took a walk, they had all the meals ready at his spot at the table and made sure it was safe for him. And he ate it ALL!! This level of care was unprecedented. And on a busy Saturday night, totally unexpected. From the food to the staff, we can't decide which part we will speak about first! So thank you Cochon for an unforgettable night!!

Great food. Trendy/Happening vibe. Lively crowd. Started with some awesome biscuit dinner rolls. Our apps included some fried alligator bites in Mayo and herbs, and Meatpie. We followed with Hog’s head Cheese with crackers, and Fried Boudin Balls. Our entrees were tasty versions of Rabbit and Dumplings, and a GIANT Bacon Fried Oyster sandwich. Our sides were Macon Cheese casserole and Lima Beans with Bacon. We over ordered as we could not finish. Overall impression was pretty positive and would certainly recommend for a Cajun food fest. Gripes were: too much fried food, a bit heavy with salt, and Mac n cheese was nothing special. Bar was hopping, good selection of cocktails, wine and beers.

Disappointing. Save yourself some money and go to a restaurant in the Marigny or Bywater. I would recommend Jack Dempsey's. This place is a tourist trap, with an appetizing menu and lame food.

This was an excellent eat! We went with a couple who have been in the restaurant business in Chicago for years, having heard about this property from other restaurant operators. The space was incredible service impeccable, and the food perfect.
