I have not found a restaurant in this chain that has been a disappointment where food is concerned. The people working in the store in Mathews, Louisiana, make it fun, in addition to the good food.“

“There are a group of friends that go every Thursday at 5pm. The ladies bring several homemade sheet cakes and share them with all the diners! “I was determined to find the perfect shrimp po’boy while visiting Louisiana and this amazing little place delivered. We ended up making the detour two days in a row because I liked it so much.The shrimp po’boy was a revelation. Coming from the mountain west, I have never had popcorn shrimp that plump, fresh and perfectly battered. The fish sandwich I had the next day was equally good. And don’t just take my word for it — many of the diners appeared to be locals whose orders the manager already knew. She greeted everybody with friendliness and familiarity without sacrificing speed of service.I’m so glad we made this stop. “When I was down there I had NO IDEA how to get into my food, like open the crab up n eat it. The server noticed this & deshelled my ENTIRE CRAB in like... 5 minutes or so!! She was SO HELPFUL & VERY NICE! didn't laugh at me or make me feel stupid for never being able to open my own crab up. She and the food were amazing!! I'd go again if I was still living there!!“
“Thursday is Steak night at Vic's and it is a feast. The steak is grilled to perfection and barely leaves room on the plate for the baked potato and corn on the cob. Talk about delicious. Great Service with a smile in a down home atmosphere. Plus bread pudding with a choice of two sauces. VERY TASTY.“
