Got a "quick" to go meal for me and my husband about 5. I could see the hostess was working her butt off seating people, cashiering, taking walk-up orders. Long story short, my food came out late, and she gave it to someone else. I saw a man come back with a question, but she was so busy, he just walked away. I waited over an hour. Food was awesome, though! Plenty of leftovers.
Overall, food was good. Nice and friendly staff. Our waitress was outstanding in her attentiveness, and brought everything to us incredibly quickly. The catfish and mac & cheese was superb.

I favor locally owned business, but I cannot dare hold it against this great eatery that it is a casino franchise. The prices are great. The catfish platter is the best I've had in a while. Currently, this is my favorite catfish. The side salad was an actual salad, rather than piecemeal in a small cup. The food and service is consistent. That is definitely a plus. Downtown Shreveport is lucky to have Smokey Joe's.
