Having worked next door over the past 5 years, I can safely say that Chilacates helped keep me fed and alive for many years.Some of my favorite dishes from them are the tortas w/ lengua, the burrito bowl, and tacos. Service is usually fast and doesn't need too much of a wait. For dessert definitely try out their churros which isn't super obvious on their menu.
Stopped here for lunch with some colleagues and it was great. I wouldn’t say much for their dine in experience but the food was excellent and the service was super fast.I had grilled shrimp tacos and they added pineapple chucks which was lovely.Dietary restrictions: Corn tortillas and could be dairy free.Kid-friendliness: There weren’t any kiddos here when we were but I can see the very casual atmosphere being suitable for them.

Doesn't get much better than Chilacates on Mission Hill. Great food, though prices seem to increase upon every visit. It's hard to turn down a papas con chorizo torta from here at any cost. Long waits can sometimes be a bother, especially when the store isn't busy, but ordering ahead of time solves everything.
