“Ordered the Irish curry and the Sam Adams Cold Snap, both were great! I came alone and sat at a booth. It wasn't too busy, but wasn't empty either. It was a quiet and chill pub, with good music playing in the background. Would recommend dining here if you wanted something quiet.“
“Tasty Beef and Guiness Pie, mashed potatoes and carrots. Background music was just at the right level to enable a lively dinner conversation with old friends. Enough screens to glace at the Final Four while not being distracting as we caught up. The Dubliner does the old Kinsale justice! ❤“
“Atmosphere was nice. Live music nice. Lunch fish and chips is one fish. I think at dinner they give you two fish but the price is more. $13 at lunch and $19 for dinner. Would have been nice to specify as I would have ordered the dinner portion for lunch. Salad was good.“
“Had to try the famous chicken Cesar pizza because who doesn’t like salad on a pizza? It literally tastes like how it seems but weirdly good, and there’s so much cheese on top I think that’s the main reason I like it. Their steak tips is also delicious, the steak is well marinated filled with rich red winey flavors.“

“Went for a quick lunch and sat in a booth, across from the bar. The food and prices were great. The service, from the bartender, was good and friendly. The bathroom was actually pretty clean. I had a very good pastrami sandwich with French Fries and my guest had a nice Irish Stew. Would definitely recommend and return. ???“

“This restaurant is 30 years old. I love this pub. It is family owned and all I can say is the food is delicious and staff are friendly. I really enjoyed my steak tips with eggplant fries! Who knew eggplant fries could taste so good!? Wings were fresh and good and dessert was Irish soda bread with whiskey sauce! Yum! Love the pub ambiance. I look forward to returning soon!“

“Great Irish Bar! We stopped on our way back from seeing the Queen concert at TD Gardens. It was late so the kitchen had closed. We're not from the Boston area, but we felt really welcomed. Live music had left, but the music on playtunes was great! The bartender, was so friendly. My only regret is that this bar isn't where we live. When we come back to Somerville, Sally O'Brien's is a warm & friendly bar. A must stop! Thank you.“
“Such phenomenal food and great prices and super friendly staff. We got the surf and turf, shrimp scampi, potato skin appetizer, and tiramisu for dessert. The seafood was incredibly fresh and huge portions. The surf and turf had plenty of lobster meat as well. Highly recommend all dishes.“

Chock full of smoked fish and in a "not too rich" cream base, this isn't an overly thickened chowder and one of the best chowder I've had.Lobster Roll is very good and well priced. Not too overly dressed and LOTS of minced lobster, topped off with a strip of bacon. Seems to be a P-Town thing, bacon on a Lobstah Roll. I'm not mad at it at all! Good sweet potato fries, the harissa sauce can use more harissa. The CURRY FRIES are legit!Good beer and whisky selection.“

Definitely get their sweet potato fries, those things are addictive. Can be a bit busy at times, but it’s a down to earth local bar/pub. Good for a night with that family, or watching the Pats. They also have a large variety of drinks and spirits. “Visiting from out of town. Out of many great places we chose here. The food was good. Our server was the bartender, and she was horrible. I had to get up for a refill of my drink. My husband's food wasn't correct. She never checked in on us until we were done. She was just plain rude.“

“This is an awesome neighborhood bar. Most of the patrons are locals, Irish, and speak some Gaelic. However, everyone that comes to this bar is immediately welcomed as family. It's not uncommon for the regulars to strike up friendly conversations with visitors. Just a heads up, JJ's is cash only so bring some cash or be ready to use the ATM at the back of the bar.“

“I love going to this place, and we always enjoy the food, service, except today I request a glass of water with lemon, and the waitress brought me a plastic cup with water and lemon, sorry I don'tdrink water in a plastic cup, so nicely I ask her to change it to a glass , and she was polite, no problem, but next to us was sitting two elderly couple that since we walk in they were very upset because we sit in the next table, and as I was asking the young lady for a regular glass ,this older lady was talking trush about me, and the fellow who was sitting next to me though that because we are Spanish,we couldn't speak English, he respond the lady that Ibwas trush, I respect people, we are educated, and I didn't said what they deserve to be told ,because my parents educated me, I was raised here in Massachusetts, and probably have more manners than this old cauple, they show their true color, racist, think they own every space in the earth, shame on them, if they are so afraid of Spanish people they should not go out of their shell, I been living in Massachusetts for 55 yrs. “Just got back from there tonight after spending a spectacular evening another one with my cousin there let me start with the atmosphere warm, welcoming, inviting the food is stupendous the service is exceptional. The owner is there often and what a lovely man he has great staff friends community couldn't ask for more in an Irish bar in Massachusetts. I've been to a few some of them deliver and some do not but this one definitely does I highly recommend it and I hope they have a wonderful Christmas New Year's and 2024. Oh well, thats not the restaurants fault.lt's a fairly standard Irish themed bar with a long bar, lots of beer varieties, and a wide food menu selection. Service is either really awesome with an enthusiastic wait staff, or so-so with one specific person who seems inconvenienced to be open.Favorites here include the appetizer combo, Mac & cheese (sometimes Buffalo and other flavors are available seasonally), the Galway burger, the Shepards Pie and the Beef Stew.“

It's so comfortable as it is - because it is just a pub. But wait, think a one lane bowling alley with tables down the side facing the bar with someone in overalls playing something 'grovin' at the end while you chill. The there's the Cuban you can't get enough of to go with the black and tan. Add the locals, more music, Mary, the brews, weird specials and it doesn't get better.
